It's springtime, and Farmer Brown is shearing his "Clip-clip, buzz-buzz, / He took their wool and left them fuzz." Naked, the pink-cheeked sheep begin to shiver as the temperature drops. They watch in dismay when Farmer Brown gathers up the bags of wool to deliver to Mr. Greene, who cleans and cards it. "'BAAA!' they cried. 'We want it back!'" But their bleating is to no avail. Farmer Brown continues on his rounds, visiting the yarn spinner and the dyer before he finally realizes that his poor lambs are frigidly following him. He scurries back to his farm and sets to work--knitting each one a bright, colorful sweater! The third in the Farmer Brown series, after Farmer Brown Goes Round and Round and The Thing That Bothered Farmer Brown, this "yarn about wool" is as charmingly silly as its predecessors. Children can learn about the process of turning wool into the yarn that becomes the sweaters on their backs, while sympathizing with the somewhat ineffective sheep who must become all tangled up in yarn before clueless Farmer Brown catches on to their plight. However, never let it be said that Farmer Brown doesn't have a heart. His magnanimous solution to the sheep's situation teaches a perfectly palatable lesson in thoughtfulness. Nadine Bernard Westcott's stubbly-chinned Farmer Brown and rosy-bottomed sheep are positively huggable. (Ages 4 to 7) --Emilie Coulter Review: Great fun and learning! - Used but like new (almost). Great pictures, and the book walks the reader through the process of shearing sheep, washing wool, carding, spinning, dyeing and knitting it into sweaters. Silliness comes into play when the farmer knits colorful sweaters for his sheep and gives the wool "baaa-ack!" Children love this picture book! I do wish it were still in print and that I didn't have to buy used for gifts for my grandchildren. My own children loved this book so much that I had to share it with their children, too! Review: Good story-condition concerns - The first copy I ordered that came from a Goodwill store in WI was awesome and arrived as described in very good condition. This is a great book and good well written well illustrated story. The second one I ordered came from a buyer "used books 123 Toledo Ohio" who listed it as very good was not accurate. Its cover was scuffed and the pages were torn. Use caution when ordering that the condition may not be what is described.

Great Story! Not only fun
Great Story! Not only fun, but educational . . . who knew my sweater's life history??? A must for every child's library. Too bad it's no longer printed and only used, well-loved (worn) copies are still available.

A favorite of ours
Great book! Wish it was still being published. We buy one for everyone having a bring a book baby shower. The rhyming story of how wool becomes clothing is entertaining and fun. Well written and great illustrations.

Fast Shipping! Great Book!
I purchased this book as it was one of my favorites to read to my toddler class when I was a child development teacher. Now that I had children of my own, I had to have it! The book arrived quicker than I thought it would. Although the cover had more creases/folds/wrinkles than I would have preferred, the inside of the book was almost like new. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase!

Poor Condition
Every page of this book is ripped. Iโm certain this book was supposed to be in great or like new condition. As you can see it is not. Itโs a cute story. Sadly the state of the book is not as advertised and I have adjusted the stars to reflect that. Sending this book out as is, in my opinion, was careless. I will use a different seller in the future.
