Delicious alkaline water!
Highly recommend and very easy to setup, use. For us, this is the perfect water-filter pitcher. We love the glass base - no plastic taste in the water. Yay!!!! Weโve only had it a few days, but so far so great!!! Iโm already thinking of buying more to give as gifts. ๐ง๐๐ฅฐ

No more plastic waste!
I am so pleased at the quality of the water I get from this glass water filter. I've used Brita for years, but saw this as a way to do without the plastic filters that get thrown away. This container is tall, yes. But having clear glass instead of murky plastic is so much better. The reusable filter is easy, and the cost of the filtering packets is about the same, but much better for the environment, and for my health.

It's a miracle!
I am fortunate to live somewhere that has excellent tasting tap water, so I can't speak to taste. However our water is very hard and really gunks up my Ovente electric kettle, coating it with that white calcium and who knows what. Now with the Phox water filter my kettle stays perfectly clear! I was afraid I was going to have to get a reverse osmosis system which I really didn't want to do, they're such water wasters, but this little beauty has solved my problem. Who knew it could be so simple?

FILTER PROBLEM SOLVED- Going back to Brita
Filters no longer available so I have been cutting open the refillable Brita packs, also much cheaper and contains finer particles. CONSIDER THESE THINGS- 6 mo. Update- Forget the pros and cons. I can't wait to get a new one of a different design and company. The water flows through the filter so fast it's hard to believe it's filtering anything significant. It's a pain to constantly take out and adjust. The filters aren't cheap so it feels like being on board with the less waste revolution is a hassle and greater expense with this one. PROS -I love that the water filtering reservoir is almost the same size as the bottom so you don't have to fill it and stand around waiting to add more water. I fill it then set it back on the counter. -silicone base so it doesn't slip. - good tasting water. -less plastic waste Glass reservoir CONS - if you don't have the silicone gasket around the filter lined up right, tap water will leak through and mix in with the filtered water. - the filter particles can clog and slow down the water flow. I then have to take the filter out and give it a good shake. I can see a 2.0 version incorporating a paper filter packet to keep these particles out of the drain holes or perhaps it sometimes becomes too dense like soil without good aeration. - responsive customer service with no follow-through (Said they would send a replacement part. Never came. Fortunately, it ended up not being defective and was due to an easy adjustment I figured out weeks later.) -FILTERS FOR THE CLEAN WATER ARE CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE (yet a second time of trying to purchase 10/6/24) . this could be a bigger issue but I will try to be resourceful and innovative with other brands if I have to when it comes time to buy a new one in a week. Update- 12/24 after trying a different water filter while others were out of stock, water tastes like tap water. In my girlfriend's opinion, she hasn't liked the taste from the beginning.

My new delicious water
My brita pitcher was leaking and had to be replaced. I decided not to get another brita because the cartridges are bad for our planet. With the Phox you refill the cartridge every two months. The pitcher is glass and not plastic and the tastes delicious.

Most eco-friendly water pitcher filter yet!
When I first put the filter pouch in the refillable filter it wasnโt really going through so I gave it a stir with a knife and itโs been filtering wonderfully since! Although I love the glass bottom, I wish it were larger to hold more water but I do understand that would make it heavier so I get it.

Water Filter
Not too pleased. It's a bit awkward to use, so much so that after two months of use, we tossed it in the trash. There are much better options out there.

Water Tastes Terrible
The jug itself is nice. I bought this for the refillable concept and I really like that. However, the water tastes disgusting. I followed the instructions exactly: soaked for 6 minutes, filtered through twice, and washed out jug before refilling. I poured this water in bowls for my cats, and left one bowl filled with the spring water I've been buying from the store. They will only drink out of the spring water bowl. Though I'd really like to just refill my water filters, I'd rather switch back to Brita just so I can drink it.

Lo usavano i miei figli in Inghilterra e me lo hanno consigliato. Felicissima dell'acquisto.

The amount of time I spent researching which was the best water filter for me is embarrassing really... but moving on, I'm SO pleased I went with this one. My main two concerns were great taste, and less microplastics consumed - so I definitely knew I wanted the jug to be glass. I have had a Brita jug for many (many) years, and it's been fine, so I initially was going to go with the glass Brita jug because I thought it looked "prettier" than this one. (Shallow of me I know - don't judge). I figured I could just swap out the Brita filter for the Phox "compatible" filter, resulting in being able to have a prettier jug and eliminating the "throw away Brita filters". Win win! However, a couple of reviews (on both the Phox and the Phox compatible cartridges) made me think that the Phox was far and away the better choice over the Brita, and I should just get over my ridiculous notion that looks mean anything. Surely what matters is the taste and the environment? I felt the price was excellent value for money, especially for what you get - and the price of the filter replacement sachets were very much the same ยฃ compared to other brands, so there was really no reason to not go for it. I loved the Scottish owned company with their values and genuine love for the environment, and the amount of importance they placed on good water for your health. When it arrived I actually quite liked the look of it, it was sturdy, easy to pull apart/put together (someone said they had problems with this, not sure how?) and had a lovely little rubbery base to protect the glass. It's a bit taller than the other jugs, but SO easy to fill - just push the little "tear drop" tab at the top and turn on the tap! Don't even have to remove the lid to do this. Super convenient and very easy to use. Someone else said that the size of the container was small, but you fill it up, let it filter, fill it up half again and there's plenty there. Ok it's not as big as the Brita, but keeping the filter full, and a jug in the fridge jug full - there's plenty of water around! Speaking of my fridge jug - I felt there's no point eliminating micro-plastics in my filter if I'm only going to put the filtered water into a plastic jug, so found a lovely big 1.8L glass jug that fits in the door of my fridge (search "Glass water judge for fridge door" and you'll see it, very pretty mottled glass jug with a gold handle). I had no problems with water pouring out the top (the "fill" compartment) as others mentioned, I think that might happen if you try to pour too quickly after filling? Let it filter first! The style of the jug means that you do have to sometimes lift it almost horizontal to get the water to come out but I'm not sure why that would be a problem for anyone. The water tastes amazing, very clear and clean tasting. In the video I had had the jug for only 2 weeks. At the time of writing this I've had it for nearly 2 months and it's been literally one of my favourite purchases so far. I get enjoyment from it each and every day. If I could give it 10 stars I would.

Cleans Berlins water so can't ask for more

After a lot of research I found the Phox. I have never been able to drink tap water but once I had this, I can even drink room temperature water.

We had a V1 Phox glass water filter which came to a disastrous end - the top and bottom parted company while I was pouring water and the bottom fell and shattered. We were finding shards of glass for days. But we liked the concept and V2 makes a crucial improvement. You push a narrow rubber seal with an inverted U cross-section onto the top rim (not the side, as with V1) of the glass vessel, then press the plastic top down on it and give it about an eighth turn. Helped by a cleverly disguised screw thread between the top and bottom, this is foolproof, unlike with V1; the seal cannot be incomplete. With that done we have a great filter jug. The advantages over "Brita" cartridge-based systems are: - The water tastes better. As with a recently bought coffee machine, we did blind tasting and there is no doubt here. (But see the comment later about the "alkaline" option!) - Good-quality components. Filter jugs tend to look and feel cheap and there is none of that here. It is well known that Irn Bru tastes better from a glass bottle than from a can, and that effect may well be repeated. The plastic parts have a pleasant slightly rubbery feel and are not going to crack or split. The only minor issue is that limescale building up is obvious because of the black finish; however, Viakal or equivalent quickly fixes that. - Very clever design for filling. The jug sits in the sink and is filled from the tap with a gap of only a few inches between the head of the tap and the lid; the flip-up tab where the water enters is particularly good. (I am arthritic and not having to hold a heavy jug under a running tap is great). - Washable. There are no awkward seams or hinges and every part can be detached from the others and fully cleaned. - Recyclable. Even in supermarkets which don't formally collect "Brita" filters there are piles of them in the battery collection bins ... that suggests a big problem and a desire to recycle which, oddly, not many manufacturers appear to be trying to meet. - The same cost as "Brita" filters, despite being a unique technology. There are only two minor issues: - Putting the jug together for the first time is a bit confusing, as there are nine parts in total. However, we quickly learned. - The refills are sometimes unavailable. They have always reappeared after a few days or a week but, given that there is one supplier, any lack of availability is worrying. A mistake we made was to use the "alkaline" rather than "clean" filter pellets for water used to make green tea and coffee. Never again; "alkaline" gave the tea, in particular, an odd taste and is clearly only meant to filter water to be used as water, as it were. Phox has developed an excellent system and should be encouraged. Every six weeks there is only a carbon filter about the size of a ยฃ2 coin and a few cubic inches of what look like tiny black and white polystyrene pellets to go into the black bin; water filtering is, by definition, removing undesirable chemicals from water so there is always going to be an non-recyclable component which takes them up and Phox has clearly minimised it.
