Happy Purchase
Very pleased with this purchase. The packaging was very secure and easy to unpack although I recommend two people due to the weight. The assembly instructions are thorough and easy to follow. The assembled unit is attractive, solid, and operates smoothly. Very satisfied with the relatively low cost considering the fundamental structure is solid and of high quality. The accessory computer display screen is small but still usable for basic session tracking. The seat rollers roll on plastic tracks so they may not last as long as the metal tracks on more expensive rowers (at three times the price!).

Fantastic little machine, not for the feint of heart
So, decided to get this rowing machine to add in some strength training to my routine. And honestly, it's probably one of the better, if not best options. The portability of it is my favorite with how small it folds up, the next part is the ease of assembly. It honestly took maybe 10 minutes to assemble. The noise of it is very relaxing, if you're into the sounds of water splashing or rushing with each pull. With that being said, some things to take into consideration. For the "balanced" resistance that the manufacturer recommends, it takes about 2.5 gallons of water. Additionally speaking, if you fill it up with just regular tap water instead of filtered or like purified water from a store, you'll want to use the supplied water clarifying solution. It does not mention it in the book, but it's just one of those things you'll want to do so that the machine stays clean and doesn't have a funk or grow mold/bacteria. The other thing is, for the love of all that is good, START SLOWLY. And when I mean start slowly, I mean do something like a HIIT rowing workout, do not use the apps supplied rowing workout. I made the mistake of trying to do the shortest session they had in the free trial of their app (yes their app is free but the workouts and videos to go with it are subscription based), a 14.5 minute rowing session. This machine will laugh at you the whole time it's whooping you and wiping you all over the floor. The first three minutes is the easiest part, the next 11.5 minutes is the longest 11.5 minutes of your life. It's non-stop rowing for the whole workout. (You can pause the workout/video and take a break, but the break itself never feels like it's long enough before you decide to finish the workout.) Tl;Dr, don't make the same mistake I did. The two things that I wasn't a super fan of, is how low it is to the ground and the foot straps. The foot straps feel kind of cheap and cheesy, it's also a little difficult to put on for someone like me who is 6'3". I'd almost say a set of Velcro straps might be better? Or the addition of Velcro? The other thing on how low it sits, also plays into my height. That's a long ways down, and an even longer way up after the machine got done beating the snot out of me for its own entertainment. In closing, I do recommend this machine. It does engage quite a few muscles and does a great job at strengthening them and stretching them out. Even the ones you didnt think you had. The portability of the machine is even better and it stores out of the way, as well as it's easy to maneuver around where you need it. Just, start light and work your way up, you'll do just fine.

Lovely, but squeaky machine
Great price. Very fast shipping. Easy to assemble. Lovely finished product that is easy on the eyes. Comfortable seat. Correctly positioned foot rests. Comfortable hand grips. WONDERFUL sound !!! From the first pull I was transported back to rowing on our private lake back home. I could see the heron watching me from the shore, and smell the pine trees on the hillside. This was so much more than I expected from some exercise in my basement. I could do this all day. I was so excited to take a 15 min break from work each day and zip downstairs for a row around the lake. Then . . . . Day 3, The Squeak. Pull back - squeeeeak squeeeeak Glide forward - squee squee Squeeeak Back - squeeeeak Forward - squee squee Squeeeak Non-stop squeaking across the rails. Louder than the lovely water sound. Such an annoying constant noise. How do I make it stop? I had to force myself to complete even 15 minutes today. It seems the plastic rail guard on which the seat rollers rest is not sitting flush against the wooden rail, as I can push down on it (with the seat rolled back) with one finger and recreate that terrible squeak. I don't know why it took 2 days for the noise to begin. The rails were perfectly silent at first. Has anyone else received a squeaky machine ? UPDATE: 04/17/24 My son began fiddling with the plastic rails in attempt to diagnose the squeaking problem. In fiddling with one rail he slid a fingernail along its length searching for a hidden clue as to what creating the squeak. Viola! That rail stopped squeaking. So he did the same to other rail and it is now also silent. I have now increased rating from 4 stars to 5. Love this little mechanical wonder. Great workout every morning.

Initial thoughts from two competitive on-water rowers
Backstory: My husband and I are on-water rowers who compete nationally (and in his case, internationally). I'm bigger on erging than he is for practical reasons; he prefers to be on water when weather is decent, and I'm contending with certain work hours. We both love C2 as a company (seriously) but there's one thing... just one thing... that made us sell our C2 and go with a lesser known water rower. The catch. Literally, the catch (beginning of the drive) - on a C2 (and again, we love 'em as a company) it is JARRING to the neck and hands because the flywheel slows to the point where the pressure shock results in neck pain and wrist pain. In my case, that meant eventual surgery. As a result, the biomechanics are #1, 2, and 3 in terms of importance. As of this writing, this is a newer product (released December 2023) and has no more than 20 reviews. I looked at 40+ machines and took the chance on this one based on good, but limited, feedback. Experience thus far: Delivery: no issue. Well packed, one person can carry (two are recommended). Assembly: the video is much more helpful than the written instruction. Save yourself time and hassle and go straight to the video. Mobility: definitely easy enough. We won't be moving it around that much, but if you need to, that really shouldn't be a challenge! Pick it up on the center crossbar and up she goes on four wheels. Filling the tank: easy. Funnel is included. Noise during use: as expected. Not overly quiet, not overly loud. We can listen to videos, have a conversation, no problem. And as other reviewers have stated, there is a soothing aspect to it. Seat and glide: the seat is awesome (gel cushion is just ride), and the glide is absolutely perfect. Keep the rails clean to keep it that way. The drive: This is where this thing really shines. We started at a level 3 (use water lines on the right side of the tank, from the perspective of being seated on the machine) for long-distance rows. There was another reviewer who stated it wasn't a workout at all; I'm not sure how that is possible unless the tank was empty. But perhaps the fans were faulty in that reviewer's case - not clear. There is no hard catch - it is EXACTLY as it feels on the water, and it WANTS you to accelerate through the drive, as you should. In short, it feels awesome and is as close to an on-water experience and I could want it to be. Upped it to mock sprint training, since we're coming up on sprint season. We'll take it back down to a 4 when we get ready for head race season. It's not the most convenient thing to change the tank level mid-workout, so plan your training accordingly. Foot well / straps: The straps do rotate around when you adjust, but they stay put once fastened. I could see a scenario where they (the buckles) don't hold forever, but I can easily replace with sturdier buckle at a later time. This doesn't bug me. Wishlist: sure, I wish it had a shelf for a tablet or something. It doesn't. I can add one aftermarket. In the meantime, just leaving my tablet on the floor within reach. Console: this is the the only con thus far. Display contrast is not spectacular, but it a well lit room it's fine. Metrics... the metrics are nowhere near accurate. Split is twice what it should be and meters per stroke are half what they should be. Total distance is about half what it should be. Watts, I'm truly not sure where they are. They seem about right based on other machine experience (C2 is my benchmark). If you're getting this and participating in indoor rowing competitions, it's going to be a real downer. IGNORE THE STATS, friends. Perceived level of effort, good form, and quality of workout are key. The stats that this thing gives you - no way. Just no way. We got it for the training quality and biomechanics, not for erging competitions (been there, done that). For the price point, IMO, you can't go wrong. I've had no need to engage customer service, but in a couple pre-sale exchanges, they seemed responsive enough. If anything material changes, I'll post an edit. I do plan to post usage video as well, in the next week. Happy rowing.

Well-made, beautiful, Strong, and Easy to Assemble Water Rowing Machine
Before I purchased this product, and read all the available reviews, most especially the review that stated that from her experience this rowing machine mimics water the best, then made my purchase, and I can say that I have not been disappointed in my purchase, and exceedingly grateful to have such a good product. The only negative I could find was not knowing from the assembly instructions how much water is contained in the tank in order to put the appropriate number of tablets in it to keep the water purified, therefore, I will provide this information: Level 1 is 5.3 quarts or approximately 5 liters, and each additional level mark adds 1.1 quarts of water or about 1 liter. The size of the Rowing Machine is perfect for me at 5'4", and the seat is exceptional having a well-formed and slightly cushioned conformity. The foot straps are great, and the noise it makes is okay as you hear the slushing of the water and the winding of the pulley cord. I have 3/4 CAP interlocking exercise mats underneath the machine which I purchased from Home Depot, which keeps the machine from shaking or making any noise so that my neighbor below may not hear it. I also took the advice of one of the reviewers to assemble the rowing machine by watching the video which I verify is the best way to assemble the product, and very easy to do when following the video. The product is attractive and well-made, and hope to have it for many years.

A Nice Decoration - that's about it
This Yosuda water rower provides zero meaningful resistance, if you are looking for any kind of intensive or HITT work out, this machine is definitely not for you. I worked it several times for 30 minutes plus and did not even break a sweat. The resistance is basically your body weight and the minimal water paddle effect, even at the highest water level. The machine appears to be well built and has an attractive look, so if you want a machine to glide back and forth smoothly without any kind of a work out, this machine is for you, if you want an actual workout, but something else.

Excellent quality rower that we should have gotten years ago.
We’ve had this rower for about 4 months, and love it. My wife and I share use, and are both using it several times per week. Never liked excercise machines (boring), but this one is much more enjoyable - maybe it is the sound of the water? Machine is well made and attractive, and folds away when we have guests in the room. We are in our early 60s and wanted something that was low-impact. This gets some good upper body and cardio, plus some stretching. Quiet and smooth action. Simple to assemble. Price goes up and down, so keep a watch. Would definitely recommend.

Smooth glide, very quiet, and visually appealing!
This is really a surprisingly nice looking piece of exercise equipment! Real wood, with a nice semigloss varnish - well above IKEA-class furniture finish, in my opinion. The styling is sort of a 70s high-end home equipment vibe, a lot like the classic wooden NordicTrack ski machines. Most of the rower comes pre-assembled, and I have no complaints about the job. It's clearly thoroughly tightened, zero creaks or wonky mating angles, and what little was left for me to do was fairly straight-forward; the instructions sort of leave you hanging though, telling you to leave the final tightening of all screws until they're in place but never actually saying when to do so! I figured it out anyway. The glide is absolutely perfect, and the pull feels great! I've spent a lot of time rowing on a Concept2, and a cheap magnetic rowing machine, and this is by far my favorite for actually enjoying my time rowing. It seems more like riding a nice bike on level ground, where you get that extended momentum after each stroke or pedal. I've never used another water rower to compare to, but I'm now a fan. Supposedly, you can connect it to your phone via Bluetooth, but I don't care. The screen is very reminiscent of a Tiger Electronics handheld game, with a little display that shows you an animated LCD "rendering" of yourself in a boat, with little waves or bubbles of water rushing past you at approximately the same pace as your stroke. Oddly for a rower, it doesn't show your 500m split. The seat is comfortable, and the handle is nicely textured, but the footrests and straps are best used with shoes on. Converting it between folded and flat can take a bit of thinking the first few times, since you have to know where the seat is going to end up before each maneuver, but once you get the hang of it it's fine. Living in earthquake country, I'd much rather have a rower like this that can fold into something less precarious, rather than having it be so top-heavy when vertical. Rolling it around is best done while it's still flat, and in that position it's very well-balanced, so it takes no effort to do so. I don't think the wheels at the end of the track are intended to be used for moving it while folded, instead they're there to let you grab it from the middle and pull up to fold it - when you do so, the two ends slap together on their rubber bumpers. So to roll it back to its storage spot, you place the water side where you'd like it to end up, grab the middle bar and pull up (and a little toward the water side), and the other side just rolls into place. It could use a proper handle there.
