Great quality product with some minor issues
High quality materials used in the construction of this overflow. For me, I would have given 5 stars but I did need to replace the nylon wing nut and bolt that holds the overflow on. I was not able to tighten it enough that I felt comfortable the overflow would not move or fall off. $2.50 at the hardware store gets you a better nylon bolt and wing nut that will tighten without stripping the threads. I would have also liked to have seen two nylon nuts and bolts to hold on the overflow instead of one. With only one, it has the potential to get knocked when doing maintenance or taking lids on or off and the overflow can go crooked and mess up the adjustment. Replacing the nylon nut and bolt as mentioned about will help with this. I would also recommend to the manufacturer to offer some recommended options for how to connect the bulk head in the drain box to plumb to the sump. Overall, I would purchase again. I purchased 2 and they have been running perfectly and have not lost siphon once. Beyond the nylon bolt, I am confident they will last a lifetime.

Effectively skims surface water
This overflow box with surface skimmer and siphon tube does a great job pulling surface water from the aquarium to your sump. It moves a lot of water from the aquarium to your sump style filter. Also included is a foam strainer and a bulkhead fitting. Please note that the male thread on the bulkhead fitting that extends beyond and below the overflow box is not npt. Fortunately I was able to find a slip pvc bushing with inner threads so I could connect a barb and flexible hose from the bottom of the overflow box to my lower sump.

Great overflow box
I have a 240GPH pump from sump flowing into my 32.5 Gallon Saltwater reef tank. I installed a gate valve on the pump not sure how fast the overflow box would work without bringing the water level too high in the tank until I knew where my water levels needed to be in my sump. I now have lines on my sump for water levels Max and Minimum. My gate valve is now fully open moving 240GPH. Just use an airline to remove air from overflow U tube. I have not lost any siphon.

Was used and sold by Amazon but it's broken and shouldn't have been sold
The product looks like any other overflow and will probably work good.. It's only 200gph which is smaller than I wanted, but it wasn't stated in the description, or not that I saw. The overflow is cracked and one of the teeth is broken off as well. I am gonna glue it and give it a try. Also it says on the box the brand is aquarium masters. Not sure if that's seapora or not. Overall I wouldn't have paid for this in this condition

Clean look
Works great on my 55 gallon planted tank. Looks clean with FlowTamer 42" spray bar. Has no problem keeping up with the 400 gph return pump. Easy to plumb with 3/4" pvc.

Easy fixes for noise And other repeated problem.
These overflow boxes are noisy. I've used them for years. The best way to reduce the noise is to cut a piece of acrylic (2) and make a lid on each side. I take scrap and make an inside edge so they stay on, cut out a oblong hole for the tube on each side and you barely hear anything and can still see in and the tube to see if bubbles are forming. Works great any home store (Lowes, Home Depot, etc) can cut the pieces usually for free and probably have scrap to glue an edge for the under side to hold it on. I'm waiting for my first one of this brand and already planning on mak8ng the covers and buying a new nylon nut, make sure you use a strong pump, can always divert water so not to destroy small tanks, cheap fixes if the product is good.

Review and helpful modifications
Going strong for 2 years and the only time it failed me was when my Dojo Loach decided to go for a ride. I added a stiff airline tubing found in my LFS, and shaped it so it will prime the hose. As for the dojo, she's still alive. In fact, every fish that when through this thing survived to tell the tale. Some multiple times. Get yourself some knitting mesh and zip ties and create a gate inside the overflow to prevent this. Other than that, I love this thing. As for the pipe fittings, 3/4" pvc won't fit snugly, but after applying the priming compound and the glue it's water tight.

works very well
works very well. was a bit skepitcal at first but i have no issues with the overflow box. Two small fish however jumped over the weir and one of them got trapped and one made its way into the heavily planted sump and i have been unable to catch him, makes a little noise (water falling down a pipe will do that), paired with this pump hygger Water Pump for Water Feature,2500L/H Submersible flow rate is spot on for the overflow box in my set up

Great for my 30 gallon reef tank
It is a small size but it can handle my 400gph pump with no problems. It runs very quiet with the foam pre-filter installed. I did find that the overflow box can move around easily due to the single plastic bolt and wing nut holding it in place. I fixed this issue by putting a small drop of superglue on each side of the box where it connects the clear plastic housing. The siphon tube is excellent and doesn’t accumulate air bubbles at the top as long as your sump pump is running with a minimum of around 200 or so gallons per hour. I actually run mine somewhere around 250-300 gph and have had absolutely no issues. I do recommend this product.
