Good hard drive enclosure
Bought for accessing old harddrives kicking about. Easy to use and works as intended. Good build quality and compatible with pc and laptop. No issues with noise levels. Fairly priced for what it is.

Care about your data? Get this, works well in a high workload environment.
A very rugged bit of gear. I actually have just bought another one as it was on sale. I bought a load of server enterprise drives for cheap a while back and used it often to transfer data from those and other different drives. This enclosure is excellent and will NOT skip a beat. It is the Anker of Enclosures, a decent well made product. Little did I know a single one of these drives is now worth more than what I paid for for the set! I felt to put these as backup drives and one a hot external. I have a file server and ran out of drive connectors as it is a cheapo Celeron board. Not wanting to upgrade the motherboard just yet for a file server I popped one of these to the USB-3 port with one of these drives. It has been in use constantly and has had zero issues and does not skip a beat. I would trust this over a cheaper one and I have had corruption from cheaper units where a USB drive failed, I plugged in the backup drive to find that was corrupted by the cheaper enclosure requiring that I use the filesystem journal to recover (ExFAT would have been screwed in this case, meaning going to the offsite backup). The enclosure does NOT bottleneck allowing full USB 3 speeds. I get better write speeds with this and enterprise HDDs over QLC SSDs with a full cache, which happens often during my workloads, to the point I went back to enterprise HDDs. It has been in use in a rugged high workload environment and has not skipped a beat. The only bad bit: When using enterprise drives during very long writes, these drives get HOT, to the point they can be uncomfortable to hold naked when run in this unit which has no airflow. I have not observed this with consumer drives. So the one in the file server I leave the cover off to allow better airflow. If you want to use this with an enterprise drive, I would drill a few air holes for breathing. I think UGreen should add a tiny little fan for if you wish to use enterprise drives, but my usecase can sometimes result in 3+ TB of writes in a single session, so its a heavy usecase. All in all, a wonderful product that is both suited to consumer and prosumer use, though some caveats with the latter.

Good product. Does the job well
A little bulky but does exactly what i needed it for. No complaints. Very easy to use. Transfer speeds are very good. No screws needed.

Relatively cheap and effective unit
Bought to house Seagate 3.5" 3TB HDD originally from a failed LaCie external drive used as a Mac Time Machine backup solution. Comes with USB3.0A style connector, so USB A to USB C adapter was required for my Mac Pro. Very easy to setup, up and running within 5 minutes. Worked exactly as expected. Relatively quiet in operation. Housing is largely plastic, so not especially robust/durable (manual says not to drop it!), but more than adequate for desktop backup. Power cable is about 1.5m long, and USB cable is about 1m long. Not used for long periods, so not sure how it would stand up to that. Consider it value for money.

Easy to use
This seems to be an excellent HD enclosure at a competitive price. Well packaged, clear instructions, no problems fitting the HD into the enclosure and the HD looks to be well protected by the enclosure. Purchased for a neighbour I am helping with a new PC, so no comment possible about speed of access, but Explorer opened very quickly when it was switched on, and a HD scan with my AV software ran quickly.

Good performance, clean design
Got a few of these for periodic file backups (not for continuous connected use), I have had some uGreen adapters purchased previously that work well for me and these enclosures appear to be a similar device in a HDD enclosure case, so I was confident they'd work well - which they do. The plastic is light but well finished, and they were easy* to install and use. I did initially search for a case with a cooling fan, but good ones seem to be hard to come by so I took a chance these would be okay - there are vents on the underside that lead to the base of the installed drive, but not much of a channel for circulation to the top plate of the HDD, which is completely enclosed without vents when the lid is on. Having said that, I had a 1tb WD Black 7200rpm 3.5in drive in one, and copied 200gb of data to it on first use, the heat generated was not excessive, and you can at least use it with the lid off if you intend on prolonged grinding. My intended use is intermittent so I'm happy with the thermal performance for my purposes. A tip not covered in the booklet - the bay slot in these for your drive is slightly longer than a full size 3.5in drive, to allow you to insert the drive flat (NOT at an angle!) and push it forward to connect with the SATA connector. The lid then has a spacer at the end underside, that prevents any (unlikely) movement away from the connector into that extra installation space. If removing a drive, the foam pads on the sides do a good job of keeping the HDD in place, so it can be a bit daunting trying to get one out at first - the best method I found is to place the unit flat on a firm surface and insert fingernails on both sides of the top of the HDD at the connector end, and pull back towards you firmly to detach it - then you can lift it straight out. Don't be tempted to lift the back end first, for what should be obvious reasons ;) I didn't find mine loud, as others have, although I thought they would be as the plastic seems like it would be prone to resonance. The foam pads must be limiting vibration quite well as the fan in my laptop was far louder than the sounds coming from the HDD when in use, so no problem there for me at all. *It can require a bit of strength to slide the top off initially, but note that there are little indents underneath the lid to keep it firmly closed, close to the power switch end - if you grip the lid at that end to remove it, you will be making it harder to remove, grip it about halfway down the lid's length instead, and apply a gentle pressure to the top when sliding. Only nit I'd pick with it is trivial - the blue activity indicator on the top is lit from behind by a white LED, which can be visible through a tiny gap sometimes somewhat spoiling the effect. I did say it was trivial ;)

Excellent Bit of Kit
Excellent item. Just insert your 2.5 or 3.5 hdd plug in and away you go. Get much higher data transfer speeds as its usb 3. Had it running for almost 12 hours and in constant use and it never even got warm. The unit goes to sleep if left unused for a period of time but wakes up almost instantly upon use. Performs consistently well and with high data speeds.

Perfect for what I needed it for !
This was a completely painless process - the enclosure is really sturdy and clean looking. I’m using this for a home file server with a 8tb HDD inside and I’ve had absolutely 0 issues with it ! Great price , great product 100% recommend !

Quality well designed HDD enclosure
Bought this to replace 9 year old enclosure. The product came in a nice quality packing with an usb 3.0 cable and power supply. The product is designed well and simple to install. It holds the HDD in place with rubber foam support, no screws for installation. The finishing is good and feels like an expensive enclosure. Looks nice on my desk. It's made of quality plastic. I am very satisfied with this enclosure.
