Solid, simple and easy to use.
Easy to grip, powerful punch action, sharp blade for belt cutting. Supposed to be superior to hammer types if you get submerged. Have been upside down in a vehicle when I was younger and had above average upper body strength and it was extremely difficult doing a one arm press up to release the belt. I also had to release someone from a rolled car at an accident scene and if a police officer hadn't had a knife they wouldn't have survived. The mounting bracket is cumbersome but would work in a van. I bought this to keep in seatback pockets for rear passengers. After the number of floods, storms, falling trees recently it makes sense to be prepared. I see it as good value for something I hope not to use.

Great
The hammer seems good. Just a point to make to those that moan that the mount is no good, it’s actually very sturdy. Do up the tightening wheel as much as you can to fit the mount onto side door pockets but before you do so insert the Allen key into the end of the turning wheel. Once you slide the mount on you can then then turn the Allen key to make it really tight. I can see that if you’re turning the mount by hand it may become loose. ….hoping I never have to use the thing.

Well made..
Hammer is well made and study ..bracket is ok all depends how thick your side door pocket is..just make sure you can reach when seated with seatbelt on. Come with Allen key.. bracket feels loose but works and rains in place when you grab the hammer..

Well made
Very clever device. No need to charge a spring or rely on a battery. Just touch it to a hard surface. Tried it out on wood… left an indent so hopefully will smash a car window. Easy to fit in car. Good quality, doesn’t come from a company that pretends to be based in UK and take weeks to deliver with no returns

Cracking little hammer
Great little hammer, thought I had better check it works by trying it out on my car window, it was so much fun I used it on every window in the car, I am now faced with a large repair bill, still nice to know it works! Don't try it on neighbours cars no matter how much the temptation.

An original and still one of the best
After looking at a variety of escape devices on here, I went for the original. This has EU safety approvals and having tested it on a whole bunch of cars in my neighbourhood, I can say it works really well :-) This version comes with a nice mount that can be rotated to suit your car’s layout

Seems good
I have yet to try it (hope I never have to) but it seems sturdy enough. It comes with a holder but unfortunately due to the shape of my car I cannot really place it where I like.

Hammer great, mounting bad
Hammer is really well made and while I haven’t tested it for obvious reasons, it has been tested by others online and works great. My issue is with the mounting bracket. Examples of mounting are on door bins on the car. The bracket is far too wide for a typical door bin and this means you cannot access the screw easily to tighten it. I’m going to end up using Velcro to attach it neatly inside the door bin. For such a well engineered hammer, the mounting bracket really lets it down.

I purchased this thing 5 years ago and it has sat in my gear bag since. I finally got to use it on a motor vehicle accident with a driver in cardiac arrest. It was the easiest window break I’ve ever had and the driver survived the incident. I’m glad I made the purchase.

I purchased the life hammer for one reason only. I mounted it in my side-by-side Yamaha, so that if I ever get stuck in the mud and can’t get my doors open, I can break the window to get out. It mounted real easy to my rearview mirror, seems very sturdy and compact. Fingers crossed that I never have to use it.

Je crains que ce bel objet ne puisse venir à bout d'une vitre de voiture. Par contre il me semble ok pour couper une ceinture bloquée.
