Unbelievably Lightweight - Perfect for Minimalist Adventures!
I bought the Lifesystems Venture Solo Bivi for some fast and light trips, and I've just used it out in the Peak District near Kinder Downfall. This thing is amazing. Its biggest feature is, without a doubt, the weight. It is so light and packs down so small that I genuinely had a moment of panic on the trail, thinking I'd forgotten to pack it. For anyone counting grams, this is a dream. It does what it's supposed to do, keeping the wind and weather off my sleeping bag, and giving me shelter from the elements. Now, it's definitely a "solo" bivi – it's a tight squeeze in there, so don't expect roomy comfort. But that's the whole point. It's not a palace; it's a minimalist shelter that's light enough to justify taking anywhere. A really good product for anyone who wants to move fast and light. Highly recommended.

some condensation
Spent a night in the rain and a night under the stars. Some condensation on the rainy night, probably best to not use down sleeping bags. Best with some tent pegs, but would fine without. Good bug mesh.

Skip the tent, take this quick and easy light weight bit of kit instead
Very good, you do get some condensation in the night at times but that cannot be avoided, to mitigate this I had a waterproof blanket on the inside (did not use a sleeping bag) and together seemed to solve the condensation issue entirely. It has a nice amount of room, there is the option to zip the net lining, the outer cover, both, or one or the other, whichever you prefer. I have spent around 6-7 nights inside, I cannot fault it, and you won't get any bugs getting inside once it is zipped up. Breathing inside with the net is slightly effected, obviously the air flow was never going to be 100% as being outside, it is restricted further by zipping the outer cover also - that said, on a very bright and windy night I zipped the net entirely, and then zipped the outer cover but leaving a 2-3 inch gap just for some extra air flow, I slept no problem and very comfortably. I must also add that on an incredibly windy night and morning I was very comfortable with room above my head, whilst everyone outside was chasing their tents flying off. The whole thing is very quick and easy to set up and put away, and folding it away (even in a rush) there is enough room to squeeze it back in the bag somewhat in a mess.

Condensation in cold weather
Condensation is a nightmare, the fabric doesn't breathe and there is no vent. Because of this, if it's completely closed (like it needs to be in cold weather) you will struggle to breathe yourself! Leaving the zip open a little will mitigate this but will let the heat out rather quickly. It's very light and packs small, this is the best thing about it. High quality fabric is nice to see but could benefit from gortex style breathability. Overall I'm happy with it, although I would say pack a decent sleeping bag so you can leave the zip open.

waterproof,light,could be longer
This is excellent for lightness of weight and compactness. We havent actually tried it outdoors as its way too cold at the moment but we have tried it indoors. We are trying the one without the hoop in as it looked lighter and easier to pack. You can get right down into it and there is a bit of space at foot or head end but not massively roomy. A 6 footer may find it a bit tight if they sleep stretched out. It will keep you dry but not warm in freezing weather so keep that in mind. The bottom is slightly thicker material than the top and all of it is nylon with some ployurethane coating. Inside is not metallised or anything. The seams are all taped. It has a vent at the top edge front edge so you dont get soaked by your own breath. The zip is good and sturdy with the two pulls so you arent struggling to find the pull in the dark. Its not light proof at all. This is probably best as an emergency shelter . You can only get one person in it . Because it is nylon like a raincoat and unsupported , It feels like putting a giant rain coat on as you have to sort of haul it on or climb in gradually rather than crawl or wriggle in. The stuffsack is as usual made for the very first packing from the manufacturer, once its out and been used , its not going back in with ease. Conclusion Decent quality and well made. Will be okay as an only shelter on warm summer nights. If its cold , blowing a gale or snowy, you are going to be cold unless you are dressed for it. Its not fire proof so you wont be cooking in it . If you wanted to have your loaded backpack in it and be able to lay and sleep, I think you will be constantly waking and rearranging things to not get stuck in one position all night.
