Added a PCI USB 3.0 Card to old desktop
I had an old Dell desktop that didn't have USB 3.0 so I bought an add on card only to find that with it installed the PC wouldn't boot. The problem was that the motherboard couldn't power the card and still have enough power to start so it obviously needed to be powered direct from the PSU. Unfortunately the PSU didn't have a spare molex connector but did have a spare Sata power connector. Bought this and problem solved. Desktop now has USB 3.0, and boots just fine. There's a school of thought that advises against using SATA to Molex connectors due to possible heat issues but this seems to be mainly a problem with cheap and poorly made cables and my research flagged this Star Tech cable as being the best quality one you could get. Been running it 4 months now without a problem so I'm happy with how it's performing.

Sata to molex, works perfectly
Exactly what it says it is, sata to molex adapter. I bought these to install an AIO in a friends computer that only had sata power connections and no molex, the AIO needed a molex connection for the RGB. These where perfect for the job

Works great, connects tightly
Nothing like having to buy a seven dollar ten cent cable and then overnighting it via Prime for another four bucks because you're an idiot and built a 30TB RAID that needs to be up in 24hrs without realizing you are out of molex power connections for your RAID expander card. Yup I did. Thank goodness Amazon has such computer accessories that are Prime eligible for idiots like me. So just to clarify for those that need it, this takes the standard female SATA power lead from your PSU (typically for a hard drive or optical drive) and converts it to a female molex for connection to a hard drive, expander card, etc. that needs molex power. In my case, I used all my available molex for my RAID backplane and was left with just SATA power. I needed just one more molex and this provided it.

Nice quality for $3
Got the 12 inch while on sale for $3 (was vastly cheaper than the 6 inch for whatever reason). Nice quality. Feels substantial and well built. Not a flimsy cable. At $6 it is a bit expensive. They also make a splitter to two molex connectors which might be more cost effective.

Power an adapter card from your SSD drive power cable
There are countless options available for converting molex to SATA power, but not so many for going the other way. Since some older motherboards and many adapter cards use the older molex style plug and modern power supplies tend to concentrate on the SATA connections, this can come in quite handy when you're trying to keep the number of power supply wires down.

It is a power cable.
I had absolutely no problems with this product. There is only so much one can write about a power cable: It was the correct length, it seems to be made of legit materials, not flimsy. This was handy for connecting an older component to newer SATA-only connections. It came in a small plastic zip-seal bag, adequately protected by a padded envelope. It was delivered at the beginning of the estimated delivery timeframe. There are many different models so make sure you select the correct plugs and cord length before ordering.

For connecting to front panel.
I have a front panel that fits in a 5-1/4" drive bay. Besides the usual card reader and USB ports, it has SATA and eSATA ports, as well as a power port. The problem is that the power port is a male connection, the same as most adapters and extension cables. This adapter solves the problem. I can now power up a drive, and access it. It is great for when you need temporary access to a drive, or if you want to use the secure erase function of a drive.
