My dog has hyperkeratosis and I haven’t known what to do with her paws for a long time. I’ve tried different types of balms but she’s often uncomfortable with lots of handling of her paws due to the extent of the keratosis. This balm has been simple to apply requiring minimal rubbing in on my part and is incredibly moisturizing. I have been using for a week and the difference in her paw pads is significant. She let me clip her nails with zero problems as well, which is typically difficult due to her discomfort. The price seemed on the steep end, but the quality is more than I had hoped for, and my dog’s comfort has greatly increased. Absolutely worth it after two weeks of application.

soothes and softens rough pads

After just a few applications, my dogs pads are smoother and softer already.

Applying this to my 65 lb lab/GSP mix is basically an Olympic event. He is convinced I've invented some new form of play involving his paws and my hands, and he will not sit still for it; there is wiggling, there is a full-body flop, there is a look of betrayal when I grab the next paw. But once it's on, the difference is real. His pads go from crunchy and rough to actually soft, and he stops gnawing at them incessantly. The stick format is clutch for a dog his size because I am not trying to rub balm into paws with my bare hands while he tries to lick my face. Shea butter, coconut oil, calendula, it smells nice and clean and it's gentle enough that when he inevitably licks his paws right after (he always does, don't fight it, just accept it) I'm not worried. Great for after walks, hikes, hot sidewalks, all of it. Just budget extra time for the wrestling match.

It was fine, but I personally didn’t like the smell, and I have some foot cream that seems to work about the same. But if you don’t have that then this certainly is better than nothing and the price is reasonable.

The product itself is great. It helps sooth my dog's cracked paw pads. He used to not let me touch them - must have been painful. The seller, however, is using photo of a 2oz stick when the actual product is a 0.15oz stick. If you don't pay attention to the item description, you'll get a rude shock when you receive the item. This is misrepresentation.
