– 5 Little Men in the Flying Saucer Nursery Rhyme Storytelling Educational Finger Puppet

Great for some offline fun with younger children. I imagine children will only get better at playing with this as they get older. Well made for the price.

This is perfect for my Attention Autism sessions. Really well made!!

I work in a pre school and sing 5 little men in a flying saucer to my pre schoolers all the time so I was excited to try this lovely little set of finger puppets with them. The a spaceship and the little aliens are eye catching to look at and they held the children’s interest. On each alien is a number , so when singing the song the highest number is taken away on each verse so that the children can count the remaining spacemen. The children can also count the spacemen that flew away. The flying saucer is also a bag and can be used for storing the aliens in. The set also comes with a drawstring bag although the flying saucer needs to be bent over to fit inside. I was disappointed that instead of having the numbers sewn onto the aliens ( like they are for the equivalent 5 little duck set) the numbers were cut out of the felt material, This made a child’s finger sized opening which could could easily tear the thin number shape. This meant that I felt I could not let the pre schoolers play with the aliens without fear of them tearing.The alien’s antennae is also made of a single layer of thin felt and will not last long in the hands of a young child. I am going to try and rectify this by gluing the numbers down flat. Furthermore some of the sewing around the felted shapes was not up to the quality of the 5 little ducks puppet set which is why I have only given this 4 stars.

This set is perfect for acting out the '5 Little Men in the Flying Saucer' nursery rhyme and teaching children to count their first numbers. The UFO and 'men' look good. The material is basic. Although the stitching is secure, the felt is not securely stuck down around the numbers, so rough handling by toddlers will probably cause the felt to come part eventually.

I bought this last year with the book for music and story time at my community center The children and parents love it, so much so some bought it for their children for Christmas gifts
