Wi‑Fi Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm, App Control, SC07-WX, 1-Pack

My Nest alarms went end of life, so I switched to X-Sense Wi-Fi smoke and CO detectors at fraction of the price. Installation of the two bought was easy, and they work flawlessly, all notifications on app come through instantly. The main trade-off is you can't control them via app like Nest, but for the significant savings, that's a fair compromise. They excel at their core job: reliable smoke and CO detection with great app alerts. It’s also possible to see battery health from the app. If you want a dependable, budget-friendly smart smoke alarm system without unnecessary complexity, these are excellent. Highly recommend.

The X-Sense WiFi Combo Smoke Alarm is an excellent choice for any home. It’s very easy to set up and connect to the app, and you can enable critical alerts, which is especially helpful if you’re away from home or hard of hearing, as you’ll receive notifications straight to your phone if smoke or carbon monoxide is detected. The size is ideal for standard home use, and the unit feels sturdy, well built, and reliable. A great feature is the built in screen, which displays the PPM (parts per million) level of carbon monoxide in the air, giving you extra reassurance and real time information. The alarm itself is loud without being excessive. I can clearly hear it from another floor of the house, even with doors closed. Overall, the X-Sense smoke alarm is a fantastic addition to a smart home and a great investment for anyone who prioritises safety and modern features.

Looks a well made product and clear instructions made it easy to install.

Decided to but my these for a property we were working on. Im very impressed with them ,to date they first activated when a petrol wacker was being used and then a second time when smoke was detected. I like the fact they can be monitored remotely. Very impressed so far with the two I own. 5 stars from me.

I’ve got a number of these dotted around the house now and feel a lot happier knowing that it comes through to my phone if it ever goes off, so gives a bit of piece of mind when not at home. I’ve taken a star off as when I first bought them you were able to test them from the app, but that has subsequently stopped meaning you need to physically press the button on the alarm. I’d already installed them on my high Victorian ceilings by this point now meaning that I have to get a ladder out to test them. Really annoying and unsure why features have vanished rather than improving. If this was ever to be revisited I would give 5 stars.

Easy to install and good value for money. However, in my opinion, the app is very limited for example you cannot test the alarms on the app. Also no integration with Alexa which I use as a home hub. Updated after 2 years use. I have 2 units and have doubts that these actually detect smoke after burning toast. Howeve when the batteries start running out there is no warning as standard cheaper models do by grabbing your attention with an intermittent beep. The first unit battery failed about 2 weeks ago with a constant alarm and the LED display was blank. After replacing the battery the device came back to life. The second unit battery ran out this morning around 6am and in a panic I thought the house was on fire, which thankfully it wasn’t. It was indeed a weak battery. I would not recommend these devices, the app is useless, I have no confidence that they will detect a fire or CO problem and have therefore reduced my score from 3 stars to 1.

I have a gas boiler in a bedroom. Naturally I needed a CO alarm there, but it's also handy as it's a smoke alarm too. Best of all, I can get a notification on my phone if any issue arises. HMO's need wire-linked alarms but it wouldn't hurt I guess to have an extra one that alerted the landlord too. In any event mine is in a private house so I can add other (smoke) alarms to the same dwelling on the one app.

I put these up a few months ago and the peace of mind they offer is fantastic. Setting them up with the app was very straightforward, and it is incredibly reassuring to know I will get a notification on my phone if an alarm goes off while I am out of the house. Having both smoke and carbon monoxide detection in one unit saves having plastic boxes plastered all over the ceiling. They look quite smart and modern too. I was hoping it would fit in the mount of my old smoke detector but no worries. It's loud.

Simple, efficace ! RAS
