Worth its weight in gold! Very easy to set up as I had a ring plan for the front door anyway, stuck this up at our back gate and very happy with results. Quality is what you pay for, sound is good when on live view and such. Currently sat at the end of a 100ft garden overlooking a back gate (with WiFi extended already in place) no problems with connectivity, it does seem to be at max range though. We caught a deer on camera :) very happy

Update: Heavy Use at Front of House Running this in battery mode at the front of my house, I get about 2–3 weeks per charge with plenty of activity. Rabbits in the garden constantly triggering motion alerts don’t help! Even so, it’s been reliable — no connection drops or false alarms. For peace of mind it’s been excellent. Hope this helps if you’re weighing up the battery side of things. Fit and forget — installed Nov 2023 and still dependable. I bought the Ring Outdoor Battery Stick Up Cam in November 2023, and it’s been mounted on my garage ever since. It’s now over a year in use, and overall I’m impressed with how reliable it’s been. Setup & Wi-Fi Range Setup was straightforward using the Ring app. My Wi-Fi signal isn’t the strongest in the garage, but even at around 10m from the router inside the house the camera still connects reliably. Streaming can take a second or two to load, but once connected it’s stable. Performance The camera captures a clear image, day and night, and the motion detection is sensitive enough to pick up even small movements — including rabbits passing through the garden and the occasional spider crawling across the lens. That sensitivity means you get plenty of alerts, which can be a positive or a nuisance depending on your settings. Battery Life On average, I get about 4 weeks on a full charge. This shortens if there’s a lot of activity — more traffic, wildlife, or busy days when the motion sensor is triggered often. Charging is easy with the removable battery, but I’d recommend buying a spare so you can always swap and keep the camera running. Durability After a year outdoors, it’s held up well against the weather. No issues with water ingress, and the casing still looks solid. Ordered the Ring Stick Up Cam Battery | HD security camera to extend the coverage of the front of my home, having already bought and been using the Ring front door camera for about 4 months and being extremely happy with that too. These are great devices - I love the fact that these are battery operated, as it means I don't have to worry about running electrical cables externally, so installation is extremely simple provided you have a decent Wi-Fi signal. And, the rechargeable battery lasts months. Installing these are relatively simple - you download the Ring App and follow the instructions which include scanning a QR Code which is located in the battery compartment. It took about 5 minutes to connect then the device needed an update which took a further 10 - 15 minutes but as soon as that's complete, you can switch to live view and then adjust the camera to show the area you want monitored. The picture is extremely sharp, especially during daylight, but at night, although sharp, it's difficult to see faces clearly. I love the fact that these cameras record as soon as they detect movement, and for the first 30 days you can access the videos via the App, but after that, for £2.50 a month or £24.99 (per-device) you can continue to see all the video recordings (these are available for 30 days). Ring also have another plan costing £8 a month or £80 a year which covers ALL Ring devices, so useful if you have 4 or more and want to be able to access video recordings. I would mention however, that you don't need a subscription but if you don't take one, you won't be able to access the video recordings which is, in my opinion one of the main reasons for having them in the first place. I've also integrated these into my Amazon Alexa system by activating the Ring skill and now get a notification on my Amazon Echo devices when they detect movement - brilliant! This is a great device, easy to install, works indoors and outdoors - and no wiring required!

I purchased the battery version. Setup Should be simple but first attempt failed. I reset the camera and second attempt went without a glitch. WiFi Connection Despite being relatively close to the router it struggled. The settings showed a poor signal. It works but can be slower to connect to than I would like. My neighbour had the same issues despite their WiFi being so good I can pick up five bars in my house which is detached from theirs. Battery Is lasting about two weeks even with settings turned up on most options. However it does pick up moving bushes or trees and on one windy night it went flat overnight. I have now used the zone option to zone out the offending bush that was triggering the camera and all is well. Picture and detection It picked up a hedgehog one night and is activated if a person or vehicle walks past the end of the driveway about six car lengths away. Picture quality is excellent and can be zoomed in on in the app. Fitting Took about five minutes. Nothing complicated and nothing additional required. Watching trigger events For best usability you will have to subscribe to the monthly plan which stores captures in the cloud. Otherwise you can not look back at things that happened overnight for example, just at live images. The subscription is not much and is well worth it. I have discovered I live on the cat version of the M25. Overall - very pleased. My only gripe would be the requirement to have a strong wifi signal. I stream to a Now Tv box a further distance from the router than the camera. Apart from that this is near perfect.

Great value for money and the quality is fantastic. Bought this in order to know when the cat was at the back door to let him back in and it works a treat. With the great added bonus of back garden security and seeing the hedgehogs at night.

Wer eine unkomplizierte Sicherheitskamera ohne lästiges Kabolverlegen sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Die Installation war in weniger als 15 Minuten erledigt. Was mir besonders gut gefällt: Bild- und Videoqualität: Das 1080p-HD-Bild ist gestochen scharf – sowohl tagsüber als auch bei Nacht dank der soliden Infrarot-Nachtsicht. Personen und Gesichter sind problemlos zu erkennen. Zuverlässige Bewegungserkennung: Die Bewegungstoleranz und die Privatsphärenzonen lassen sich in der App sehr präzise einstellen. So wird man nicht bei jedem vorbeifliegenden Vogel oder wackelnden Ast alarmiert, sondern wirklich nur, wenn sich jemand auf dem Grundstück bewegt. Das Akku-System: Der Akku hält je nach Aktivität und Einstellungen (z. B. Häufigkeit der Aufnahmen) erstaunlich lange (bei mir mehrere Monate). Das Beste ist das Schnellwechselsystem: Man dreht einfach die Unterseite auf, nimmt den Akku raus und lädt ihn per USB, ohne die ganze Kamera demontieren zu müssen. Gegensprechfunktion (2-Wege-Audio): Die Kommunikation über die App mit Personen vor der Kamera funktioniert flüssig und ohne große Verzögerung. Ideal, wenn man dem Paketboten kurz eine Anweisung geben möchte. Wetterfestigkeit: Die Kamera hat bei mir schon heftigen Starkregen und Frost schadlos überstanden. Das Gehäuse ist absolut dicht. Was man beachten sollte: Wie bei fast allen Ring-Kameras gilt: Wer Videos in der Cloud speichern, im Nachhinein ansehen oder die erweiterten KI-Funktionen (wie Personen-Benachrichtigung) nutzen möchte, benötigt das kostenpflichtige "Ring Protect"-Abonnement. Für mich sind die paar Euro im Monat für die zusätzliche Sicherheit aber absolut in Ordnung. Fazit: Die Ring Stick Up Cam bietet ein hervorragendes Gesamtpaket aus einfacher Montage, stabiler App-Anbindung und exzellenter Bildqualität. Wer sein Zuhause schnell und kabellos absichern möchte, macht hier absolut nichts falsch!

Stopped working in less than a year. Already paid for ring subscription but now Amazon is giving me a hard time despite it being in the warranty period. Also they are not refunding subscription cost. And making me chase my return and refund. Im beyond frustrated. Im losing money on the subscription cost AND having to chase them for my return. If you want this device save yourself the trouble and go through the ring store directly. Amazon customer care and quality has seriously deteriorated
