Palaepaphos (Old Paphos) was visited by Paul the Apostle during the 1st century AD and is now on the UNESCO list of culturaland natural treasures of the world's heritage. Aphrodite's Rock was written in Nicosia, Cyprus in late June 2013. From having come upon so much beauty during my visit, such as the jaw-dropping mosaics of Paphos accompanied by the transitional, ever-changing sea, music was the natural result.The first and third part of my piece reflects upon the seducing legend of the birthplace, while the middle section is an attempt to picture the surrounding sea. From Cyprus I was flown back to England for the wedding of Sian and Steve Newman on June 29 2013. This piece is their wedding gift.
