The two straps on either sides goes through the saddle rails & around the bag. There is a male/female velcro which hold it in place & it does not touch the seatpost

Was a new version released of the picture here?

No, Amazon is still showing last year's model. When I ordered in June, I received the new model with a different strap system and a different zipper puller (the bag is otherwise identical). I personally prefer the old model which was much easier to attach or remove. A picture of the new model can be found on the Lezyne website (http://lezyne.com/en/products/organizers/caddys#!micro-caddy-s-m).

Can anyone share their experience with how well the medium Lezyne MC bag holds up over a longer term of use?

The original bag I ordered the zipper broke about 6 weeks after I purchased it. Amazon replaced it and now I'm going on 2 years without any issues. I can fit a 700c tube, multi-tool, two bike levers, co2 and nozzle, and a couple bike patches. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with this bag.

what are the measurements for the medium bag

5 inches by 3.1/2. I can put two road tubes, two C02, two tire levers. It is the bag I bought in 20 years of riding.
