Top Hammer
The Hammer Vault is a very impressive, and well written Book about the Hammer Films, The layout is amazing, and I like the way the book is presented overall I am glad I held out on this book, as it has been updated,, and revised so I didn't have to end up buying the book again. The Hardback finish to the book is nice,,and a lot of care and attention that has been put into this particular publication, that makes it stand out from the crowd. The Films are presented in chronological order,,and also the book covers The Hammer House Of Horror series, which is interesting, as well as The woman In black, so the story has come full circle. I think it is a book that you can quickly refer to regarding any hammer film, to find out any information to that partcular film. Marcus Hearn has done a fine job in presenting a book on the Films of Hammer, I wish more books were like this, but sadly I have seen some other books on the Hammer Films, and they are not up to the high standard of these particular publications. Hammer Historian, Marcus Hearn knows his subject, and has written a book that I am sure will be collectible in the near future, once it goes out of print, so I would snap this up quick. Highly Recommended to all the fans who can't get enough of the Hammer Films, Sink your teeth into this one!!

A book that any fan of horror films should own!
I purchased this book together with 'The Art Of Hammer' also by Marcus Hearn and I am glad I did. 176 pages of pure enjoyment that will have you returning to it again and again. Full of interesting facts and pictures that cover the period 1954 to 2012 and containing many rarely seen items connected to Hammer Films. If you have the slightest interest in Hammer you should get yourself a copy!

Fazit: Marcus Hearn (Hammer Glamour: Classic Images From the Archive of Hammer Films, The Hammer Story: The Authorised History of Hammer Films und The Art of Hammer: Posters From the Archive of Hammer Films) hat hier mal wieder schön recherchiert.

Marcus Hearn has done it yet again. Since 2007 he has released four in-depth books concerning the legacy of the UK's top horror production company of the 60's-70's. This journey began with 2007's The Hammer Story , which gives the reader an in depth history of the many films the studio produced, as well as insight to the actors, directors and producers who brought these now-classics to life. I must say that I was worried that The Hammer Vault would simply be an updated version of the aforementioned title, however I am pleased to announce that this is not so. In 2009, Hearn released Hammer Glamour , another insightful tome, this time focusing on the studio's many starlets. The next year brought The Art of Hammer: The Official Poster Collection From the Archive of Hammer Films , which was praised by fans and critics alike. A few reviewers and critics were displeased by the exclusion of foreign versions of some of the posters, as well as the inclusion of the many non-horror titles that Hammer also released. It is important to note that The Hammer Vault covers only the sci-fi/horror films that the studio released. Each of these books are unique in their own right and are essential items for the library of any fan of horror. The binding is great on all books in this series, but is particularly nice on The Hammer Vault, which has a foil stamped cover and sturdy construction. A limited slipcase version is also available (seemingly only in the UK) which contains many extra goodies. If you would like to read more about the "dynamic duo" of Hammer (Lee/Cushing), I highly recommend Lord of Misrule: The Autobiography of Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing: An Autobiography and Past Forgetting
