Fantastic device. No lag, and now we can listen to the audio from our hdtv in a crystal clear manner from the speakers of this wonderful portable device.

Somewhat disappointing results, the surround sound function as well as the individual speaker function did not work at all. The unit was generating sound to the satellite/surround speakers but the only way to hear them was to literally bring them physically to my ears. Based upon other reviews of this product, I can only assume that the item was defective. The manufacturer was contacted and there was agreement that it probably was after several troubleshooting steps. For the record, I own the HT A9 as well as the Bravia Theater Quad A9M2 systems, so I am familiar with the technology. The was also a strange inability to update the firmware using the Bravia Connect App.

Hi People, I wanted to like this product so much; I was excited about it is manufactured by Sony, and the technology looked very promising to me. (am not a big expert in this kind of equipment or whatever related to sound quality things; am just a tech savvy) Pros: * Compact * Portable * Easy to connect to your Phone, PC, TV (over Bluetooth) Cons: * Support connectivity over Bluetooth only; * Side (smaller) speakers are way less powerful than the main one; so you can hear and feel difference, which is bad; * Overall quality of sound is not great, I was expecting way more from this Sound System, but it feels just like a portable speaker with some extended features; I would say if the manufacturer would focus on Sound Quality, that would make real difference; it looks like super quality product (and it is), but it doesn't perform (sound-wise) as its look pretends to. So, cost per quality-wise that (from my standpoint) this thing isn't worth 500$, first of all because of sound quality. I would pay 200-250$ for it, but I understand that number of technologies incorporated into this piece of equipment make it expensive, but that doesn't help quality of sound, which is the primary thing you expect from the Sound System when you evaluate the cost of your purchase. (After evaluating the product for ~3 weeks, I decided to return it)

I really like the simple design of this speaker set, it looks nice on my TV stand with its plain mesh grey color. The removable side speakers are something else entirely, simple attachment to charge them, fairly fast charging, and super easy to move around your desired sound setting. It really gives the surround sound you expect from a theater making it a great choice in my opinion for movie nights. The Bluetooth connection of the system works super fast and simple, I just turn on my TV and it automatically connects to the speaker set and turns it on even after leaving it off or idle for a long time. To be fair I was pairing this Sony speaker set with a Sony TV, but in my opinion I can’t tell if they just work great together but the change in sound quality from the TV speakers to this system is astounding. In terms of battery charge life because it is a wireless sound system, I used it with the side speakers also and it didn’t need another recharge for about a week. I don’t know if I used the speaker a great deal compared to the average person but I would say for the quality of sound the battery life is excellent. I wish the app that came with the setup of the speaker had a readjustment button or something for when you move the speakers around to get the ideal surround sound, because it does it once and I moved the speaker set around so I have no idea if its just constantly adjusting or only does it once. Another thing I will say is that I wouldn’t state that its as portable as their trying to claim it is, its fairly beefy if you have the idea you can just put it in a bag to carry it around. Other than those two annoyances I have with this speaker set I would say that quality of this is amazing, making a home theater become more like a real theater as you can hear all the action or musical ambiance of any movie or playlist you’re listening to.

I have been using these speakers for several months now and have been impressed with their sound quality. The sound is rich and smooth, I haven’t had any issues with them so far. They are a bit pricey but I think the higher quality is worth the thuggery price. They are easy to set up and get going. I like the sleek design of them, they add to my space instead of being eye sores like some speakers are. Overall I am really happy with them and think the price is fair for what you get.I hope that sharing my opinion and experience here provides you some value when shopping and deciding on something like these speakers, if so please let everyone know below.

Speaker came damaged right out of the box.

While this is expensive, it’s the best Bluetooth speaker I’ve ever used. I love it for entertaining because it’s so portable, and it really surprised me that just how well the surround works. It really does feel and sound amazing when you set the satellite speakers behind you. The battery life is good, and the app is surprisingly easy to use. It connects easily to my phone (I generally use it with my phone as I have a real sound system for my tv) and controlling from the app is nice. I still give it 5 stars even though it’s pricy just because it is so amazing. If you entertain a lot outdoors or in other parts of your house away from your main surround system, and you care about sound quality and immersion, I don’t think there is anything better. It also helps that it’s gorgeous and feels so premium and high quality.

Really wanted to like these speakers. For the price point I can’t really recommend it. I compared it with two hi-res Sony speakers playing as a stereo speakers to simulate the same bubble feature that these speakers are suppose to create and my old Hi-Res speakers sounds a lot better and reacher than these. Some reviewers said that they get 30hrs of play time but for the amount of time I configured it and did the comparison it went to 40% battery life in less than 2hrs of playing around with them. The rear speakers sounded very faint, even after setting it to MaX in the app. Also the lack of LDAC and Dolby DTS along with some connections is very disappointing from Sony. I could have possibly get a lemon, but very hard to trust or recommend after a sour experience.
