RICCLE Bread Lame Slashing Tool, Dough Scoring Knife with 15 Razor Blades (Brown)

I was using a plain razor to score my sourdough and rye bread loaves. But the razor kept getting misplaced. And frankly I was holding on to sharp edges and it was pliable so not the best designs. Ive used this lame once and have to admit I love it already. A bit of a challenge at first to unscrew the wood pieces to put the razor blade in and then to loosen it for use. But once its set up, it scores wonderfully, and once all done unscrew the wood a bit, slide the blade til its smoothly put away, tighten the wood halves and there's no chance of getting injured. It has a little cover to put it away in as well. I haven't used another lame, but im happy with this purchase.

Easy to use but I still worry about slicing my finger when I am trying to open or close the disc. Does make it easy to score my sourdough and I actually have a nice design now. Blades are very thin but that is pretty much the norm for any lames that I have used. Comes with plenty of blades to change them out. Also comes with little finger protectors but these slip and just get in my way so I usually don't even bother with them. Very comfortable in my hand while scoring.

I purchased the UFO scoring tool. I'm unable to even use it though because the top and bottom came fused together. I can't open it to place the scoring tool in. Edit: I changed my review to reflect the company and how well the stand by their product. I had received a faulty product. The company saw this and sent me a new one in every type of bread lame they make. And they work perfectly. Thank you for standing by your product and taking care of your customers.

I would not recommend this for sourdough scoring. I had high hopes for it but it doesn't fit ones fingers well. It's too hard to navigate. The blade slips if not tightened well enough and is impossible to tight without risking slicing your fingers. It cut into my finger a quarter of an inch just trying to tighten it. It has many safety flaws. Your better off using a single blade than this thing. I would not recommend this product.

I want to love this but I don’t! I can’t seem to get the razor blade to stay in place and not move when I use it to score my sourdough bread.

Be VERY careful with this one! I have sliced my finger several times just opening and closing it. To open and close, you have to hold each half with your fingers and rotate them in opposite directions. When it gets loose enough, the blade just kind of slides out, then you have to rotate it back the other direction to tighten it up enough to lock the blade in place. Then do the same thing when your done. It is not a safe tool, that's for sure! Not to mention, it is kind of thin, and rotating it to open and close is not easy, sometimes you have to really put some force into turning it. Which is usually how I end up cutting myself each time! I think I will go back to using the bread lame with the handle.

Absolutely in love with this wheel! Easiest tool to use, clean, and store. The cover is perfect for storage!

This is a great tool for making those iconic designs on your sourdough bread It’s light weight and fits perfectly in your hand and with the blade protection it makes it easy to use and the design makes it more comfortable in your hand rather than those blades with the long handles!!!! I will be purchasing again!!
