Easy to install, simple to use.
I have an Abode home security system. I bought 3 indoor/outdoor cameras to be used outdoors with the package, but I mistakenly assumed the Abode I/O cameras were rechargeable battery-powered cameras like the Abode doorbell camera. Nope. They have to be connected by USB-C cable to an electrical outlet. I should've read the fine print. So, I needed an extra outdoor camera and decided to buy this one after reading multiple reviews. I believe I misplaced the instruction booklet after I first opened it, but no matter. There was a QR code to scan which took me to the Vico Home app download. The app has the installation instructions, but this is pretty simple to install. The Vico Home app also guides you through pairing the camera with your Wi-Fi and set up. I cannot say enough times how much easier it was to install this camera and connect it through the app than the Abode cameras and devices were. The Abode was a giant pain in the butt to connect devices through their app. Every device was a struggle, some devices didn't work, and others wouldn't work until they had firmware updates. Even then, it was still a slow process (up to half an hour) and took 3-5 attempts (one took over 10 attempts!) before it would work. This app is highly intuitive and simple to use (MUCH, MUCH SIMPLER THAN THE ABODE APP), and I had my camera connected and running within 3 minutes. I can delete unwanted video so much easier than Abode. It has a select all feature that allows you to delete all video clips at once. This camera has an alarm, and the notification that detects motion has a simple link to click to activate the alarm without having to search through the app to do so. Or, you can set your camera's alarm to go off for 5-10-15 seconds anytime motion is detected. You can talk to & hear the other person. You can even turn on a light to illuminate a dark area to record it to view live. You can set the camera to black and white mode but it will switch to color when the light is activated. Or you can leave it in color mode all the time. I leave one camera in B&W mode because the area is dark and you can't see it very well on live view without turning on the light when it is in color mode. That said, I prefer the color mode when recording people so it doesn't wash out their faces like B&W can do. The idea is to give the police good video of a burglar's face. It's hard to do that in B&W mode. My only complaint is the speaker on the camera isn't very loud so they may not hear you clearly through the camera when you speak. I would also prefer it be 5GHz-capable since I have two 5 GHz channels and only one 2.4 GHz. But it works well regardless. Overall, this is a great camera system and I plan to buy 3 more for all 4 sides of the house. I may update this review later to report on the camera battery life. UPDATE: I bought 4 more of these cameras for my home's exterior, plus an Allweviee PTZ camera here on Amazon that uses the same Vico Home app. I'm sure all these cameras come from the same factory in China. Anyway, I now have full coverage around my house. The Vico Home app had the PTZ controls for the camera as soon as I installed it. It also allows for multiple presets, so I can make the PTZ go where I want it in one tap. Ultimately, I would like to integrate all these cameras with the Abode system, if possible. I haven't yet played around with the Abode system enough to know if I can, although I doubt these cameras will integrate. Regardless, it still alerts me to the exterior motion around my house and does it more rapidly than my Abode doorbell camera does. I can activate the camera's alarm with the quick touch of a link in the app's motion detected notification. I can activate my home alarm remotely with the push of a button if needed, and it's monitored. The process is pretty seamless in spite of this camera being on a separate app. So far, the first camera I set up still shows a full charge 12 days later. My Abode doorbell cam is down to 81% during the same time. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and I would recommend this to anyone. UPDATE 11/27/23: I'm still very satisfied with this camera. But I want anyone who reads this teview to know, the 2-way talk function is mostly useless. It's not just this camera; it's the same with most cameras I've used in my security system. The speakers are not loud enough, even on full volume, indoors or especially outdoors. If you saw a criminal on your camera and you called out to them, they likely won't hear you no matter how loudly you speak/yell into your phone. That feature is worthless. The siren is loud enough, but the speech function is not.

Good replacement for a camera that died.
One of my cameras quite working so I bought this to replace it. Setup was easy and the VicoHome app recognized it with no problem.

Great Value, No Monthly Fees!
Great security camera with good video quality. The best part is that there’s no subscription required. It includes free motion recordings with up to two weeks of video history, which is a huge advantage over many other brands that charge monthly fees. Highly recommended!

Great camera for the price
It's a great security camera for the past 9 months I've owned it. Easy to set up and I've been happy with the performance. I live on a busy street and the more it records movements, the faster the battery gets used up. I have to charge mine once every week and it takes several hours to charge. My camera is mounted on a separate 1 car garage about 50 ft away from the house and it picks up about 50% of the house's wifi which hasn't been a problem. The speaker works well but not really loud. Video is great day and night.

Great camera
I have had this camera for 8 months and it's wonderful. Clear views, works as it should everytime. I have never had any issues with it and I love the little peace of mind it brings me to know that it's reliable. I also got a solar power sheet and it stays charged and both were so simple to install. It even has held up through the stray cat I feed and the birds standing on it hahaha.

Horrible customer service
Update: after this review the company emailed me and said they would refund me for the faulty camera. I replied saying that would be very much appreciated. I have not heard back from them since and it has been THREE MONTHS. So....my 1 star review and opinion of the company has NOT changed. Also, most people get a camera because they want to make sure that their property is safe. If that is why you're buying a camera, you do not want these cameras! I had seven police officers take down a criminal not even 5 ft away from my camera, and the camera shut off after 20 seconds. Therefore, the camera does absolutely no good if it's going to shut off in 20 seconds and not let you see the rest of a crime. The police asked me for the video and I got a hold of the company and they said that the camera only takes 20 second videos. ... What is the point??? So there can be criminal activity going on, the camera shuts off after 20 seconds, but the crime continues on for 5 minutes, so basically you have no proof. Look for a different company. You do not want these cameras and you especially do not want to deal with this flaky company. I bought 3 cameras and 2 of them are fine, they have a clear picture and hold a charge (somewhat) I bought solar panels so I don't have to keep climbing up to bring them in the house to charge. However, the 3rd camera is a piece of JUNK and the customer service from this company is hideous. I have emailed over and over about the fact that the 3rd camera will not hold a charge (not even with the solar panel) and at night you can not see anything out of the camera. What is the point of having a camera if the picture is so dark at night (which of course is when you need it the most) that you can not even see what is going on?? Obviously this camera is faulty and not one time in the 10-15 emails that I have sent have they given me the option to replace the faulty camera. I would go with a different company if I were going to buy cameras after this. Oh and......if you live on a busy street, your camera will be going off EVERY time a car passes!!! I have it set to low and it still goes off literally every time a car or bus passes my house. Very annoying!

Great little outdoor home security camera at a great price!
So far we have enjoyed using several of these cameras. The photo quality is excellent. We have them mounted outside and they seem to work fine with the wifi coming from the modem inside our home. With the price as low as it is ($25 to $29 on Amazon), even having one of them stolen or damaged would be no great loss. I have now purchased 5 of them (now purchasing solar-charged versions where mountable in sunshine) and will get them all up and running soon. Battery-only versions seem to be going for at least a full month so far. I plan to mount a cell phone charging battery next to the non-solar cameras to extend the intervals between chargings. Being able to get an alert on our phones if someone comes in our driveway or onto our front porch has really been great! (A couple of kitties in the area have triggered the cameras too, but that provides us with a few laughs.)

Not very useful for my purpose
I ordered this camera to identify a critter who was visiting my porch nightly. I wanted to know exactly what I was dealing with before setting the trap--that is, raccoon vs skunk. I did not want to trap a skunk. After a couple of nights and readjusting the direction the camera was pointed I saw the varmint in the camera view, a raccoon. The reason for the 3 stars is because the video is only 10 seconds long (with about a 10 second delay). It doesn't last long enough to see how this animal is managing to remove all of the bait without tripping the trap mechanism. On the up side, it was very easy to set up. There's the option of the free version or a paid subscription. I chose the free for my purpose. It may indeed work very well for someone else's application, but I'm frustrated at the short video. However, a porch pirate can come and go before it sends an alert. Also a plus is that it is quite sensitive to movement and picks up even a wren who flew into view.

Perfect camera for outdoor.
I’m really impressed with the MaxiViz Outdoor Security Camera! The 2K video quality is super clear during both day and night, and the color night vision makes a huge difference compared to regular black-and-white cameras. The wireless setup was quick and easy, and the battery lasts a long time without needing constant charging. I also like how the motion detection sends instant alerts to my phone, which helps me keep an eye on my home even when I’m away. The camera feels durable and works well outdoors in different weather conditions. Overall, it’s a reliable and affordable security camera with excellent picture quality and useful smart features. Highly recommended!

Great product at an unbeatable price
I purchased this product back in November to use at my new house. I ordered two, one for my front yard and one for the back yard. The product arrived quickly and was really easy to install. Just drill some holes, tap in the anchors and put in the screws. Setup was straight forward and really easy. You just turn on the product and follow the instructions on your phone through the Vicohome app. I've been using it for some months now and I did have some issues with connectivity when trying to live stream the feed. However, after moving my router around (it was being blocked) these issues were solved. The video feed is great quality (2k) and the notifications are quick and easy to view. I would definitely recommend this camera to anyone looking for some security on a budget

Bait and switch subscription scam
Shortly after you start using these cameras and their proprietary software you'll begin to see ads before being allowed to access your live feed. The cameras are good but the app interface is a blatant scam. Avoid this product.
