OMT Diesel Transfer Pump, 12V Fuel Transfer Pump with Nozzle Hoses

Background: I was tired of filling up 5 gallon cans of diesel every weekend to fill my tractor, skid, and mini. We had a fuel tank years ago but it was long gone. I ended up getting a 91 gallon transfer tank so I could load it into the bed of my truck when I needed to fill it, and then just fork it off and leave it at the property to fill up the equipment. I searched for a few weeks to find a solution best get the fuel out of the transfer tank. I didn't want to spend the $300 - 1200 on the pump systems I was finding. I also was really hoping to stay away from the push/pull type. Although the arm workouts would be useful... Anyway, I happened upon this Orion Motor Tech Diesel Transfer pump on Amazon, at less than $100. So I decided for that price to give it a shot. Here are a few true thoughts/comments on this pump. - It is surprisingly sturdy, heavy, and seems really well made. This included the hoses that came with. The cheapest feeling parts are the clamps and the screen filter. No big deal there right!? - Everything I needed was pretty much included in the box. I did not mount it or otherwise connect it to my tank. Just sank the intake hose in and fired it up. - It's fast. I filled approximately 15 gallons in my 65hp tractor in about 30 seconds. It may have been longer but I really don't think so. I was so impressed I lost track of keeping track. It's quiet too, if that matters to you. - I used yellow teflon tape on all the threaded connections. I had zero leaks and don't think I would have had leaks even without the tape. Although I still recommend the tape on threads for such applications. - I forgot to take pictures but basically it would have been slightly easier if the pump itself was attached to something. I just laid it on the tire. No problems. But I will mount it and possibly connect the pump directly to the tank as it will be much more convenient that way. Summary: I've only used it one time. I was really impressed with it after this first use tho. It worked flawlessly and quickly. I couldn't believe I was able to achieve my fuel transferring objective for under $100. Good stuff.

I bought this pump to transfer used motor oil from one storage tank to another tank. The pickup tube is plenty long enough and very flexible as is the feed hose for the nozzle. Wires are maybe a bit short to reach a battery, but, I supply a deep cycle marine battery near the pump instead. Continuous running of the pulp does have to be monitored, because if you let it run hot, it will fail. And on that note, my pump did fail as a result of becoming to hot. In consideration of this, the outside temperature that day was 106° with high humidity, so, that lay have contributed to the failure. I did immediately contact Amazon customer service who then hit me in contact with the vendors who understood what happened and immediately got me a replacement pump sent out which I have sitting in front of me now from UPS. So, the customer service is outstanding. I have it only four stars due to the original failure. I have a portable air compressor that also has a blower feature on it that I will use to provide extra air cooling for this pump as I live in an area that commonly is hot and humid. But as far as the quality goes with the pump overall is great.

Pumps fast . Use it to fill equipment daily. No auto stop so be ready.

This is very nice product and great output for filling my diesel fueled vehicles. So much better than holding a fuel container!

The outbound hose is too long. This allows for a couple gallons of fuel residual in the hose when done filling the tank. I sent a request to Orian for a shorter hose and or fittings so that I could shorten the hose. I explained that I went to the local industrial specialists who repair fuel and hydraulic hoses for local businesses. They could not shorten it because none of the Orion fittings could be matched by Industrial Specialists nor could their supplier. I went to a welding shop, same answer. So then I sent a request to Orion for a shorter hose and or end fittings. Their response - they don't sell these items, I would have to get the items in the local community to get these items. It would appear the person at Orion Motor Tech who responded to my inquiry did not even read my question/request for help before responding. Orion Motor Tech’s customer service was awful. UPDATE, Orion's parts are NOT compatible with ANY parts available at any of the local industrial hydraulic, diesel fuel hose, fittings, etc. businesses. Not one business in this community could match the odd ball sizing found in orion's diesel pump/hoses. Nor could Amazon or Ebay match the odd sizing found in orion's diesel pump. And this community thrives on logging which requires extensive quantities of fuel and fuel transfer equipment out in the field. The pump is still leaking. orion instructed me to remove the lid and check the gasket. I did this and the gasket was not properly sealing, which is a quality control issue. I asked orion for a replacement gasket. Their response-warranty expired, they don't sell replacement parts and they don't have that gasket in stock so go find a replacement in the local community. This stinks. This is the second time I have received this answer.

This product works fantastic, very good quality very fast and clean I transferred 540 litres of diesel in no time at all. My only opinion is the battery cables could be longer but I can extend those easily enough.

Yeah works great just don’t like that the handle is not rubber coated that but what me being cheap but it works great and just wear a glove
