It's very well built with minimal cardboard packaging. It fit's beautifully. I like how it's not too tall compared to some others, and is just perfect for your pinky finger to grab onto. Love the QD socket too as I utilize that on my other camera so going to be buying another QD socket connector for this camera. The battery compartment opens fully when you open the lever on the base. There are no issues with getting the battery out, fully opens, as I've seen some reviews say they can't get their battery out. Wrong, works perfect. The lever is not spring loaded, it's just heavily damped which is fine. Overall, well designed and highly recommended. Thanks SmallRig!!

Fits perfectly, matches the silver top of the camera, and adds just enough grip space for a 4-finger grip. Bonus is the arca plate base.

I absolutely love this add-on for my Sony A7Cii. It's crafted from metal yet remains incredibly lightweight. The color seamlessly matches the silver accents of the camera, giving it a cohesive look. At the bottom, it features five tripod mounts, offering flexibility for various balanced positions. It also includes a handy tool neatly tucked into the body for tightening the screw. Some reviewers have mentioned issues with the battery compartment being blocked. While it is true, this design prevents the battery from accidentally falling out. Thankfully, there's a sliding mechanism that allows you to easily access and change the battery when needed. See the pucture attached.

I bought this so that I could attach my black rapid camera strap which I’ve got a Push-Button QD (Quick Detach) Sling Swivel System attachment. It fits well I’m always a bit worried that the little integrated magnet attached screwdriver will fall off, but it hasn’t yet. Out of an abundance of safety I have put it in my camera bag from time to time. Well, I didn’t realize that I was also gonna benefit from the fact that it protects the bottom of my camera. It’s already taken the brunt of a few nasty shunts that wouldn’t have been so kind to the plastic body of the camera.

Solid and worthwhile accessory grip and mount for the Sony A7 Iic. Gives that extra little bit of height so your pinky finger isn't left dangling - has the ability to work plates with ARCASwiss compatible tripods and is so well designed that a little flap allows you to remove the battery from the A7CII camera without taking off the bracket. Definitely a quality product in my eyes.

Looks and fits great. The first one had some issues, but the replacement is perfect.

QD Socket not machined accurately. QD plug connector will not fit. I have several made-in-the-USA ProMediaGear QD Plug connectors. None of them will fit into the SmallRig QD socket. I have purchased two (2) of the SmallRig base plates - one from Amazon and one from a large NY camera store (B&H) thinking that the first might just be a single, defective unit. The QD socket on on both of these base plates was too small to accept the QD connector. The issue is not with the plugs - the ProMediaGear QD Plug connectors go into all of my Really Right Stuff base plates and the ProMediaGear QD Plug connectors themselves are probably the best QD plug on the market (but expensive at $60 per)

Its a nice strong well machined base plate. Only complaint, the color can be modified slightly to exactly match the body

Quality little base extension for the A7CR, the perfect height to give you some pinky finger grip, without adding too much bulk, Arca Swiss base makes it easy to snap on any tripod.

It fits my A7CR perfectly. I previously bought a similar plate for my Z7ii so I was expecting no less. If you examine the design and workmanship of Smallrig products, you will understand why the company has achieved a reputation for well-priced, quality products among professionals.
