Why are they called 57/62 pickups if they are reverse engineered from a 63 strat?

These were developed probably 30 years ago and at the time we had two Vintage Reissue Strats, the '57 and the '62. These pickups were used in both so that was the name given to them and we have never changed it.

I ordered two sets. Great pups, but come with wrong large screws, for pickguards, not for mounting ?

The larger bolts should be for mounting the pickups.

does the position of each pickup (neck/bridge) matter?

I don't know, I've never tried the pickups in opposite positions. I would think that the wiring would be more the concern.
