DALI Katch G2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker (Chilly Blue)

The G2 will be played in the bedroom solely, Though no doubt of its stability playing at outdoor levels, It appears well engineered, designed and built. It's architectural an interesting piece. I am following the linage that was a ground breaking product, the KLH Model 9 table radio. Moving on as new products introduced, to now with the Dali. Boom boxes do not fit my need. Its small footprint lends itself to a dresser, it sounds musical, filling a bedroom with sounds befitting much higher priced separate electronics. Definition, mid range and sound stage, rather remarkable, low end, for a small room, they nailed it, Listened on Tidal, 24-BIT 96KHZ, Jack White Taking Me Back, sonically incredible song, Piano concertos, Anderson .Paak Soundgarden, the Dali handled all of that, and I enjoyed listening. I am very happy with my purchase. This speaker is introductory audiophile grade, no doubt about it. The alternative to its small size abilities makes it a bargain actually.

Does it sound clear and clean? Yes. It has a lot of high end detail- but almost too much to the point of being harsh. And it lacks low end. I tried it side by side , back and forth from the same sources to my Marshall Kilburn 1, which cost less than half as much - it lost badly! If this thing was $200, I'd say go for it. But at $600, I expect something WAY better sounding than this

Speaker sound was as great as the first Dali Katch and now will not charge, will not turn off and they are not offering a return or replacement. Not sure this was a REAL Dali Katch as the quality certainly is not as great as the one we bought over a year ago and is still working.

I’m very familiar with Dali and all their speakers but this didn’t live up to their standards for sound quality. I’ve never been disappointed by any Dali I’ve listened too. It’s very well built but not sure what the online reviews heard from it. It’s very flat , muffled and dead sounding.

I am a Hifi afficionado and was looking for the highest quality portable speaker for my itinerant lifestyle. This is clearly it. Reading reviews, I had been led to believe it was a competition but the Dali katch clearly is a cut above the rest. Great detail and clarity, much better than anything I've heard from a portable. Not hifi quality of course, but that's to be expected at this size and with one speaker. whether it's worth the money, is subjective. a little disappointing is the lack of software, for example to fine tune equaliser settings. for the price of the device, it should have an app. it is quite a bit bigger than I thought. Portable but not so much something you slip into your baggage. Happy with my purchase.

Very disappointing if you perfer clear sound over loud noise

IMO, this product lacked the broad sonic depth offered by other products. This is because it was a speaker that I wanted to use in an outdoor space. It lacked bass, and when the volume was turned up >60%, it started to struggle outside. Instead, I bought the bulkier but much more accomplished (for outside use and flexibility) Sonos Move 2. Significantly heavier but it offers so much more.
