Satisfied Customer
This is incredibly cost-effective. The quality is also one of the best I've worked with. It expands a lot once hydrated and goes a long way compared to the size of the brick. It does retain moisture really well, which is great for keeping plants from drying out too quickly. That said, it can get too compact after watering, especially when used by itself. If you are using it for seed starting, make sure you add something to improve aeration, such as perlite or another chunky material. Good airflow is important for healthy roots. It's a very versatile growing medium, and I have used it for indoor plants, seed trays, and some outdoor containers without having any issues. It has a pleasant smell, and I haven't found any foreign particles, plastic, or other unwanted material in these bricks. Overall, this has been a reliable coco coir option and a great value for the amount you get.

Huge block for making LOTS of potting soil
This is literally a large block! If you only make a bit a time, I highly recommend getting two or five lbs blocks instead. Thankfully,I had a bunch of old soil, vermiculite , perlite and othe bags and could store the soil that I eventually made. Quality is excellent and broke down with water as expected.

Great growing medium
Iโve purchased the same brand Coco Bliss before but not the 10lb blocks. This seemed to be a better quality. Once hydrated the medium was light and fluffy. Will be purchasing again.

Necessity for container-grown vegetables
Organic and local is the best way to feed us, so I grow as many vegetables as I can. Container growing in Texas sun and heat increases containers' higher demand for water, and soaked coir helps keep soil loose while holding moisture along with other amendments. With this big brick of coir, I set it into an oblong container and add water to the level I think I'll need, leave it to soak and soften the coir for an hour or so, then I can chunk off what I need and save the dry section for another day of amending soil. I've also had success putting a cover of coir over each just-planted seed to help keep the area moist so they'll germinate.

Good quality coco coir, rinse before use
This coco coir is clean, expands well, and has a nice consistent texture. It hydrates evenly and works great as a base medium for plants. I did notice it benefits from a good rinse and buffering before use, especially if you are sensitive to EC or growing more demanding plants. After prep, it performs exactly as expected. Solid product overall, just not totally plug-and-play out of the bag.

One package goes so far!
I have used this in my flower pots for the last 2 years. It helps keep moisture in and is cheaper than soil. If mNote: sometimes it still looks like the coco is wet, but if it's been awhile since you've watered or it's very hot outside,it probably is dry underneath and should be watered.

Love this!
Purchase this frequently! Next time I will be weighing it since many others customers bricks came underweight. Love it for my seedlings and plants.?I mix an entire block with 2cu ft compost, 1/2cu ft perlite and 1/2cu ft vermiculite. I use this as a potting mix for my plants and vegetables, since I grow them all in containers and green stalk.
