Whisker of Trouble, A : A Second Chance Cat Mystery: 3 : Sofie Ryan: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: A Cat Book - I love this book I couldn't put it down. Review: A brilliant introduction to Elvis! - I liked this story very much and found it more enjoyable than her second follow up story, which I purchased first in error. This is definitely a 'keeper' to be read again.

Read it, you will loved it!
I found this book in free books. Liked the cover and description and thought I would give it a try. I loved it. My first introduction to the cozy mysteries series, and well worth the read. A good murder mystery with plenty of humour, a colourful cast of characters and of course Elvis the cat!

Sarah Grayson loves living in North Harbor, Maine. She has her shop, Second Chance, where she sells items that have been refurbished. She knows that she can count on her friends. Currently she will be emptying the house of Edison Hall. If she's lucky, she might find some items for her shop. What she doesn't expect is for Elvis, her cat, to find a body. Now Charlotte's Angels will have to find the killer? What happens next is an exciting adventure. Sarah is a lovely, caring person who has her hands full trying to keep her quirky friends out of trouble. This group of seniors have the cunning and intelligence needed to find the truth. I like that they weren't portrayed as helpless. Elvis is one smart kitty. He can nose out clues while charming everyone for treats. I chuckled at his antics. This story is well plotted and filled with colorful characters. A Whisker of Trouble keep me guessing until the very end. I didn't know who the murderer was. Sofie Ryan kept me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't stop reading until I know who the culprit was.

I have been binge reading Sofie Ryan's books, as well as Sofie Kelly's series. I just love them! The characters are so likeable and real, the stories are engaging and the cats are just so much fun! I highly recommend this series for anyone who enjoys a cozy mystery.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It's the first I've read in the series, and now I can't wait to read the first two! Great cast of characters that are vividly written. It was so good I couldn't put it down to start writing my term paper! Great plot and lots of twists and turns. Some of the changes between scenes and locations made the reading a bit choppy, but that could be part of the writer's style for this series. Even with that one negative I really enjoyed the book and can't wait to read more of this fun and clever series! **I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a review. I had already pre-ordered the Kindle edition before being asked to review this book.

Three older women and an older gentleman who comprise the private detective agency called "Charlotte's Angels", a play on the old Charlie's Angel's series. They work for Sarah at her repurposing business and Sarah usually ends up working to help them solve the latest murder. Alfred is a computer wizard and proves that it would be a mistake to judge him to be just another old man who's only good for sitting in his recliner, napping in front of the TV. Charlotte, Liz and Rose were, and still are, successful, intelligent and capable women who would rather solve mysteries than knit or do the things elderly women are supposed to do. Sarah is the younger woman who is expected to keep the old folks "under control" and out of danger. The story is good . At times I find the banter to be just a little too cutesy. Actually, some of the best conversations are between Sarah and Elvis, the cat. Overall, I liked the book, although I prefer to read mysteries that skip the romance; this series has romance, unfortunately, and the male romantic interest seems to be a stick in the mud who likes to get mad at the elderly detectives and Sarah quite often. If Sarah wanted a man in her life, she'd be better off with Mac, her employee and friend. He's not all judgemental and controlling. I'll probably read another book in this series.
