Crystal Mineral Deodorant Stick, Unscented, 4.25 oz (Pack of 4)

Depending on your individual needs, the crystal may lasts much longer than 1 year. I was introduced to Crystal body deodorant from a cousin that was in the beauty insdustry. That was over 16 years ago. At the time, I purchased a 4.25 ounce crystal body stick deodorant at Walmart. Since I only used it for underarms, once a day after shower, and wet it with a couple drops of water, it had lasted all these years. I still have and using it. However, the bottle that contains and hold the crystal is slowing breaking apart. I will remove the left over crystal and use it for traveling. I'm glad to find a great bargain here. 4 bottles will last me for a long long time. I probably end up sharing them with family. Asians have been using this crystal for centuries. It works very well, that is, like everything else, if you're not allergic to it. For me, even when I sweat, I realeased no odor when using the crystal. Recently, my sister was convinced that it worked well and have been using it too. Another friend, an auto mechanic, had terrible foot odor. Due to embarassment, he never took his socks off, even in the hot summer weather. I gave him a small-size crystal to use on his feet. He was really hesitant at the beginning. But knowing that it was just a natural rock, he gave it a try. He no longer have foot odor. Just love this stuff. I highly recommend it!

Originally, I bought this product as a gift for a colleague who used to stink all day, because regular deodorant caused him severe irritation. This is a great solution for those with sensitive skin. My colleague loved it. He uses it every day since I gave it to him, and although he works on construction sites all day, he does not stink anymore. I bought 4, so I decided to give it a try. I am an active woman who usually trains 4-6 times a week. I am always in a rush, and my biggest concern with deodorants was the yellow stain they usually leave in my dress shirts. I also get bored with fragrances. This product leaves absolutely no stains, it doesn't smell, and it really does what it's supposed to, it doesn't allow stinky bacteria to stink you! I have used it for 6 months, and it seems it will last longer than a year. I also tried this product after shaving... It also leaves your skin smooth and without the horrible irritation! To use, simple wet the top of the product and smoothly rub in your skin. After taking a bath, I usually don't dry my underarms, and then rub the bar counting until 20 (30 if I know it's gonna be a rough day). It lasts all day long. I bought another set of 4, to give away for Christmas. :D So happy I came to this wonderful deodorant.

Have been using this probably about 18 years maybe longer. I used to use regular deodorants before that but it got to the point they kept causing skin irritation in my armpits so when I found this it was great. This gives me no irritation. I have tried using several other deodorants since then in the past years including Tom's and a couple other 'all natural' type deodorants but they all cause skin irritation or even rashes. This still works fine for me. Surprised more people don't use this. For me they last 6 months or longer. When they start whittling down to being smaller I go ahead and just get a new one because once they get down about less than 50% original size they do develop small cracks or holes in the crystal itself which causes it to be rough so it's time then to get a new one. Yes I recommend you try this. Just don't expect it to smell like anything there is no smell so you have to start out with a freshly washed body. This will not cover up the odor of BO if that's what you're looking for it just won't do it. It works very good at preventing the growth of bacteria in your arm pits which is what causes the stink. If you bathe daily and then apply this immediately after bathing then it will work for you too.

Was looking for a natural deodorant and this one works great! Has held up in the summer so far. Love that it doesn't leave ANY residue on clothes - I can wear dark colors again! The only two things I would caution against is: (1) Once water gets into the base it loosens the stick and I did have one stick fall out and shatter rendering it unusable. But I haven't had that happen since - I now hold the stick when I tip it to get it wet. Not a biggie! (2) The first time I used it was right after I shaved and WOW! It burned badly! And then it was quite itchy for a few hours after. BUT to avoid this all I have to do is wait about 5-10 minutes after shaving before applying and there's no burn. So I just do other things while I wait, i.e. brush teeth, apply lotion, etc. All in all, I prefer this to conventional deodorant 100% and will continue to use. Stick lasts forever too so its cost effective. Unisex too, so my husband uses it and is happy with it as well.

This is a fine alternative to try if you find yourself wanting to avoid certain ingredients or reacting badly to commercial deodorants. However: Crystal isn't an antiperspirant. As a human, you are supposed to sweat, and that is supposed at some point to smell. Crystal will reduce sweating but not eliminate it. Just like it will reduce body odor, but not entirely eliminate it either. I find it has an effectiveness of about 12-18 hours max. And If you are active, you must bathe and reapply. Always to clean skin. For the record, other deodorants don't work on stinky pits either. Start clean! Most importantly, no one has ever edged away or told me I stink. I have worn Crystal for years. Your body adjusts, I recall it took about a month, during which time you'll need to be prepared to wash your pits and reapply as needed. Although it avoids known carcinogens and hormonally active ingredients like paraben found in other commercial products, It is not aluminum free. I don't know why this misinformation is out there. Right there on the label it says natural salts and ammonium alum (which among other things is used to retain crispness in pickles and was consumed by earlier generations in some quantity). This isn't the same form of aluminum compound found in other products, but if any aluminum is an issue for you, Crystal is not an appropriate choice. Look into recipes for making your own deodorants. It is not reaction free. Some people respond to simple stuff, not artificial fragrance or other ingredients. I have a terrible contact reaction to many things including commercial deodorants. I can tolerate Crystal, as long as I don't break a sweat. If I sweat much, I also break out in a rash, though at a vastly reduced level. So I don't plan to wear it if I'll be working out, instead I dab a bit of coconut oil, arrowroot and witch hazel on and plan to shower immediately after. The packaging sucks, but they do make just a rock without the annoying dispenser. Any way you buy it, Crystal is extremely inexpensive and long lasting, and this multi-pack is amazingly cheap because it'll last about 4 years. Seriously. I have never actually finished one because usually I wind up dropping it and it breaks before it is used up. The longest I have used a stick before breaking is over a year, making this a very frugal choice.

I overlooked this deodorant for years because I thought this was some sort of New Age unscientific BS. But, I've never really enjoyed pasting deodorant under my arms. And I especially hated deodorant staining my shirts. So, I after reading up on this and understanding the bacteria that causes under arm scent, I gave this a try. I never looked back. I'd warn you though, don't expect it to be perfect on the first few days. I think your body has to adjust. Because once mine did, I was shocked. I'm a very active guy. I lift weights, jog, bike ride, and love to go camping. And this stuff has changed all of that for me. Whereas paste deodorant often masks a scent. This stuff just prevents a scent from ever developing. I was most shocked after a 3 day camping trip. After not showering for 3 days, my wife laid down beside me and said, "How do you not smell at all?" While we're at home I shower every morning and most nights, so I didn't know it would have such lasting effects. Another thing I should mention is how I apply it. I keep the stick in the shower. When I'm done showering, before I towel off, I wet the crystal stick and rub the stick under my arm for a long, long time. I'm telling you, I stand there spacing out just rubbing the stick on every area of my armpit. I'm sure I over do it, but I'm not changing anything because it works so well. There is no better feeling than running around all day feeling natural without greasy or pasty stuff under your arm and knowing you won't stink at all.

I have used this for years- feel it is safer than the antiperspirant/deodorant that is sold in stores. I never have issues with underarm odor, does not stain clothes and lasts a long time. I was unable to find it in local stores - happy that you carry it. I recommend it highly.
