They are claimed to aid sleep quality and I personally, from experience, have found this to be true. Providing plenty of natural foods high in omega-3s can help ensure your child is meeting their daily needs. However, it can often be very difficult to get our little ones to eat all the foods that provide these Omega 3s mainly because of their fishy taste. Supplements are often no different because of a reaction to the unpleasant fish taste. So, there is a problem. These Nordic Naturals Omega 3 supplements have a lemon flavor... which seems to me to be a stroke of genius. If you bite into one, the taste is very pleasant, a sweet lemon tang immediately hits the taste buds and even the shell has a pleasant taste. This is a win win and of course, as long as the child likes lemon flavour, they enjoy taking them, rather like sweets. The capsules are small enough to swallow easily. The manufacturer recommends to take two a day, providing 283mg of Omega 3 fatty acids, of which 135mg are EPA and 90mg are DHA. These Nordic Naturals Omega 3 supplements are Soy-free, Gluten-free, Non-GMO, all of which I welcome and think may be important to some people. Decades of scientific research have established the benefits of omega-3 fatty acids, so there is no problem with their effectiveness and authenticity. There are180 capsules, therefore this pot should last around three months. I feel that is enough time to test if they are benefiting my child. They are suitable from age 6 years upwards. The quality is great.

I am happy that lemon flavoured fish oil soft gels are available for kids nowadays. I remember hating having to take the spoon of fish oil when I was young. Costing 40p a day per child is a bit pricey, but I can afford to spare my child the horror and trauma I had

This is huge box of Omega 3 sofgels. Perfectly suitable for 6+ kids. 180 softgels in a box, kid need 2 softgels a day. So as we have 2 kids it will last for around 1.5 month. I would say its great for value we pay. Omega-3 is nice lemon flavour so kids easily swollow them. Soy free, gluten free, Non-GMO. Definitely recommend.

The reason to buy Nordic Naturals is super high quality ingredients and purity tested. The fish oils used for this product are anchovies and sardines, both small, wild fish. Much better than farmed fish. Also, small fish like these do not contain as many heavy metals or contaminants as large, longer-living fish or deep water fish like cod. Super important for everyone but kids especially. You get 180 capsules and recommended dose for children over 6 years is 2 per day so this is 90 days supply. I think 3 months supply at £38 currently is steep, but given it is a multi omega formulation with EPA and DHA, and very good quality, I realise you have to pay for quality. A daily dose of 2 soft capsules contains 283mg total omega-3 and of these 135mg EPA, 90mg DHA, 58mg other omega-3, 120mg omega-6 fatty acids, of which 35mg gamma-linolenic acids and 115mg omega-9 fatty acids, of which 90mg oleic acid. This is a higher dose of the important EPA and DHA than in my old capsules from another brand for adults. The reason I am removing a star is because it is crazy to have a daily dosage based on 2 capsules when this is for children. You can't expect kids to swallow as many pills as adults. The reason I'm only removing one star is maybe this is the maximum amount of omegas you can cram into a small capsule that is easy to swallow so 2 capsules is unavoidable. But if you are also giving your kids Vitamin D in the winter and anything else, you really want to try to keep the number of pills to be swallowed to a minimum. Mine came with about two and a half year expiry date. EPA and DHA are so important for brain health and development. There are many, large-scale, high quality, research studies which can be found on the National Library of Medicines website. They may also help with mood and behavioural issues. So a really good product and my only criticism is having to swallow 2 capsules. Hope that helps!
