Great little bit of kit
My partner bought me this because I've been suffering with a herniated disc with nerve compression and so couldn't enjoy sitting in my PC chair to game at present.Using this little bit of kit I've been able to not only play on my PS5 while laid comfortably but also my Xbox and Steam games as well as some Google Play Store games. The buttons feel great to use albeit took a little getting used to if you're more accustomed to a PS5 controller. It easily fits my Samsung S23 Ultra although I do have to remove my case as mine is designed to combat my clumsiness and is therefore rather chunky. The app itself is a great addition to making things easier to switch between sources of games and took no time at all to set up.Due to my back issues I've not as yet been able to test this on the go but if you are like me and have a medical issue that affects your hobby this is a fantastic middle ground to help you out.

Great mobile controller with a sadly overpriced companion app
My biggest disappointment is the fact that their overly praised companion app has a paid subscription of £43.99 a year which I think is absolutely ridiculous. The app does not offer anything worthwhile to justify a price this high.Anyway, the good bit about this particular controller is that it has a rigid back plate supporting both sides of the controller. It is why I went for this one instead of the Razer Kishi which, by the looks of it, wobbles in certain use cases. The layout of this controller is quite good. The buttons feel great, triggers are comfortable. The size of the controller is a bit of a hit or miss. My hands are not particularly big but I did find it rather difficult if not painful getting used to holding it. I play with an Xbox Series Controller for the most part on my Mac and have been playing with a Xbox360 controller for over a decade before that. backbone one definitely feels a tad small in comparison which is especially noticeable with the Right analog stick. Because the stick is quite close to the edge of the had grip, it forces me to bend my thumb just so I can control it. Took me about a week of getting used to and now I feel fine using it but keep in mind that the experience may be so uncomfortable that it will hurt. The analog sticks have very little travel to them in comparison to an Xbox controller. Only a bit more than the PSP had back in the day. Also less resistance than a PSP so it can feel quite sensitive at first which, again, takes time getting used to. they are rubberised which is nice and my thumbs do not feel like they are going to slip.I've been using it with GeForce NOW mainly and my experience has been great. The best part about the controller is just how easy it is to put in on and off my phone . I use an iPhone XS and it fits perfectly. I thought it would take up more space in my backpack than a Razor Kishi would but to my surprise it is quite compact.Overall I do recommend it.Just know that there will be an adjustment period if your hands fit a Large glove or larger and especially if you are used to an Xbox controller on top of that.

The only smart phone controller I use
I love this controller. It is the second one I’ve brought due to upgrading my phone it it having usb c. Love this controller. Well built and is plug and play. They do a subscription service for their app that unlocks some additional features. You do get 12 months free before you have to start paying but to be fair, I don’t use that and it’s not needed for you to use the controller. Overall a very good controller but appreciate it might be a bit pricey considering some other options out there.

Had three units develop the same fault.
I have had three of these now. The software is good and the device is brilliant when it works. The left side buttons slowly died off one by one. I even took it apart and had a look…nothing inside obvious to be repaired, just cheap components I guess.Customer service from Backbone is laborious and annoying. I don’t have a printer to print a return label and couldn’t be bothered schlepping to a relative with a printer and then a post office so after purchasing three in total, and spending a small fortune due to my own laziness and unwillingness to return and replace…I give up. Obviously partly my fault as I’m sure I could have jumped through hoops for a replacement but three faulty units is really disappointing.Got a Gamesir Galileo for cheaper and it feels just as good build quality (if not slightly sturdier) and it’s working as expected for the time being. It’s a shame.

A Game-Changer for Mobile Gaming
I recently purchased the Backbone One Mobile Gaming Controller, and it has completely transformed my mobile gaming experience. The setup was straightforward—just plug in my iPhone, and I was ready to play. The controller feels very comfortable in the hand, and the tactile feedback from the analog sticks is excellent—responsive and satisfying to use, much like a traditional console controller.Pros:Seamless Integration: Works flawlessly with my iPhone, providing a console-like gaming experience.Ergonomic Design: Comfortable to hold during extended gaming sessions.Tactile Analog Sticks: Great feedback that enhances control and precision.Low Latency: Responsive controls with minimal input delay.Pass-Through Charging: Allows me to charge my phone while gaming, ensuring uninterrupted play.Backbone App Access: Provides a hub for all my games, game recommendations, and social features.Cons:Price Point: Slightly on the expensive side, but the quality justifies the cost.Final Thoughts:If you're a mobile gamer looking to elevate your gameplay, the Backbone One is an excellent investment. It offers a seamless and immersive gaming experience that enhances every game I play.
