Great little speaker
On powering the speaker it paired quickly and easily with my iPhone13. When I first played some music I was disappointed with the sound quality however after a few hours use the sound is now very good for such a small unit. Vocals are very clear and it has a surprising amount of bass to give a decent overall sound quality. Itโs also loud enough for an average sized room, itโs the ideal speaker to take away on holiday or on a picnic or day trip. It charges quite quickly and the battery seems to last for ages although I havenโt done a full charge-to-empty test as yet. Bear in mind that this is quite a small speaker and not a lot of money but itโs definitely good value. The design of the unit is very pleasing with a modern, sharp looking cabinet with a hard rubberised shell finish. On the top there are four press pads for power, source, vol+ and vol-, there is a useful hook on the left side to attach the supplied carabiner which can be used to hook the speaker onto your rucksack or to suspend the speaker during playback. Also supplied is a funky orange USB charging cable and a mini jack cable for aux input. The ports are located under a flap on the rear panel to give a degree of water protection. So to sum up, the Neocore Wave is a great little speaker for the money, I might buy another to make stereo pair. By the way, I changed the Spotify EQ to Small Speaker.

A 5 Star Recommendation for both build and audio quality.
This speaker is amazing! - So far. I've only been using it for the past day or so and it is undoubtedly the best of the three I've tried in the last month. The speaker is very sturdy with a kind of rubberised base for stability and grip (and bass isolation. there's no rattling!) - It's Bluetooth 4.2 and this does make a difference in terms of speed, reliability and ease of connection - a lot of the cheap Bluetooth speakers on the market use very old BT technology). It's quite large (compared to some) and obviously this benefits the the speaker acoustics as the 'cabinet' itself produces a rich & deeply satisfying sound, whilst retaining clarity - I used it yesterday in a roomful of students doing a Listening Exam and they were very complimentary. The size also allows a bigger rechargeable battery to be fitted, so more time between charges and/or more volume when it's required. The manual is clear, simple and sufficient - connecting to my laptop / tablet / mobile phone was as easy as Bluetooth is supposed to be! There is a 2-year warranty, a useful website and a dedicated page to request a repair so the aftersales support seems to be there if needed! Included in the box were a pretty decent USB cable, a 3.5mm > 3.5mm aux/Line-in cable and even a Carabiner to hang the speaker in a tent or somewhere outside (its IPX6 'waterproof' - so according to the manual - 3-5 minutes water flushing is OK - but don't soak) I'll keep this review up to date if things change *I bought mine from MangoMobile (via Amazon) and they are an excellent seller! - the speaker arrived on-time, well packaged and they sent me a courtesy email with instructions to 'reach out' if I'm dissatisfied. Amazing product too ... :)

Sounds better than you think
I bought this particular speaker for a specific purpose and so my review will reflect that quite heavily, though I will try and give an over all view as well. In the box you get the speaker, a 3.5mm cable and a micro USB cable with a regular USB on the other side. It also comes with a Carabiner clasp which you can fit to the right side of the speaker to hang it if you want to. The Neocore Wave A1 has a rubberised texture everywhere except the front and back which has a metal grill. It feels nice to pick up and given it's small size is nice to hold and carry around. There is a rubberised section on the back which lifts up and reveals the Auxiliary input, the charging port and the slot for the Micro SD card. It's easy to move the flap and use those inputs but I am not sure how stable the join is on the side that doesn't come away. Still it feels strong enough so let's hope it remains that way. The buttons for the speaker are on the top. It has four, Minus, Plus, Mode and Power. They don't stick up and are flush with the top of the speaker. You have to press the tactile symbols and that does produce a satisfying click when you manage it. The mode button allows for switching through the various modes the speaker has to offer. Pressing Minus and Plus will change the volume whilst holding them down will switch tracks. Connecting via bluetooth was quick and very easy. The speaker tells you when it is ready for connecting and when it is connected. So the sound of this speaker given the price is actually really nice. I was very surprised by how nice it sounds. It has a clean crisp sound without sounding tinny. It does have some base but I don't think the base over powers the over all sound so it never sounds muddy. I didn't do allot of testing with the bluetooth but what I did test sounded very nice and as I said above, very surprising. I don't think I will be the only one to be surprised at how well this little thing sounds. I bought it for the ability it has hidden in the back. That ability is it's ability to be able to play from an SD card. I use this as an audio book player and am so pleased with it's performance in this area. You don't want to begin an audio book and then turn off your book to find out it's lost it's place, thankfully this speaker picks up right where it left off, actually it goes back a couple of seconds which is even better. It works really nicely on quieter recordings. Most audio books I have are very quiet recordings and other speakers I have had distort if those recordings get to a certain volume. This one so far hasn't distorted once. It has a reported twenty four hour battery life, of course volume and usage will effect this but I have used it for a good while now and I still haven't needed to charge it. I don't know if it will last the twenty four hours but it will certainly last a good long time. The price of this speaker is astonishing considering how much it does and the really nice battery life. It's not cheaply made and may give some slightly more expensive speakers a run for their money. I really do think it's a very nice speaker. It is not perfect however and I will discuss the two main drawbacks I have with it hear. First off are the buttons. I am not a fan of the recessed buttons. Would have preferred if they stuck up a bit so you can be very sure you know which button you are pressing. Though the symbols are helpful I would have liked better buttons. The second is the reporting of the battery life. I was told by a very helpful Amazon user that the speaker flashes red when the battery is low. I am visually impaired and My vision is certainly not good enough to see that. It would have been nice for it to report the battery life audibly when ever one would turn on the speaker. Of course if you connect a device to it via bluetooth it will show the battery life on there which is fair enough, but for me who doesn't use the bluetooth mode it's just a little disappointing. I did contact Neocore about this and they were very friendly but in the end they said it couldn't be fixed through a firmware update either. So if I want to know what the battery life is then I have to connect it to my phone, not difficult, just another extra step. You really can't go far wrong with a speaker given it's price and I do believe it punches above it's weight. Give it a go because like me you might be very surprised at how good it sounds.

Totally BRILLIANT product. Totally brilliant sound. Huge memory. Great price. But a totally USELESS set of instructions.
This is a brilliant product. Superb, I love it every morning in my shower. Completely waterproof. Great, great sound. What more could you want? YOU COULD WANT AN INSTRUCTION MANUAL. The piece of paper provided was absolute rubbish. I could not work out how to operate it and had to undertake numerous emails to get any idea and still the people selling the product had no idea. So, I found out basically that there are four buttons on top. You use the USB line to drop MP3 music icons into the box's memory. There is no playing control other than to get it to play, at which point it plays the music around in the order that you dropped it onto the memory. It plays it round again and again. No shuffle. To get it to play, press the on-off button for a few seconds. As soon as the blue light comes on, press the phone button (why? no one knows) and it then plays the music. The volume buttons work ok with brief presses and the volume buttons shift to next and previous track by holding them down. That's all I know, except it was worth all the trouble. If you stand it on a shelf with a wall just a few centimetres behind it, the base really comes across well. It is brilliant. I wouldn't be without it. It is totally waterproof X6 level. You could put it at the bottom of your swimming pool and I spray it with water every day and it plays perfectly. Oh yes, the re-chargeable battery is charged through the USB lead, and lasts for hours and hours and hours. Brilliant.

Great little speaker, great little price
This product is fantastic, it's much smaller than I expected and packs a punch. In order for me to do this review properly I think I need to break the product down to let you know what makes this such a great product. First I want to start with the design, it's not the most attractive look that a speaker can have, but I'm yet to see one that looks good, I think that the metal grids used on each side is neat but certainly doesn't do the sound any favours. The plastic casing that goes around the speakers is surprisingly good quality but of course not anywhere near the quality of say the beats pill or other premium Bluetooth speakers. However for this price point the plastics used are very durable and I find it hard to scuff up, plus the addition of rubbery pads to one side makes it far less likely to slide around. The addition of rubber to cover the buttons and ports for charging ect is fairly well executed and adds not only additional protection from bashing it around but a water resistants, however I wish the buttons were better defined so that you can tell which is for what when you can't see them. Moving on to sound, for most users of this product the sound should be just fine, in fact I think that you'll be astonished by the power of this little speaker, however I've found that is depends on the type of material behind the speaker, wood being one of the bests. The metal grills may look nice and be durable but greatly effect the low end that the speakers produce, the problem is without some absorption behind the speaker the bass either doesn't sound right or doesn't exist. The problem with this is in large spaces without something behind the speaker you can't hear the bass, but if you reflect bass back towards the speaker it bounces off and distorts making it sound terrible, so you need something that to a degree can absorb the bass and Chanel it in other directions. See it's a shame because if they added some sort of insolation to the back of this speaker it would sound fantastic, it would make the mids sound more full and make the bass more forward. However, it's not all bad news as the highs and mids-highs are very good with lots of definition and clarity. The Bluetooth is very good on this speaker with good range and stability, and the battery shown next to the Bluetooth symbol is very handy, that brings me on to battery life, which is really good also, the quoted life expectancy is up to 24 hours but that isn't quite accurate but I've found that even at full blast it lasted 15 hours which is very respectful. All in all this is a great little speaker for a great little price, it offers good sound in a durable package and I would recommend this product that wants it for outdoors maybe for jobs like gardening or painting, the low price makes it very affordable to use without worry of damaging it.

Big Sound & Bass Sound from a little box.
I bought this as an upgrade to a cheap blue tooth shower speaker that I got free with a shower gel gift set last Christmas. So I was hoping by paying for one I would get a better sound than the tinny one that delivered. I was not disappointed as this one kicks out a great level of sound which is really clear and has plenty of Bass too. I have to turn my phone down to about 3 or 4 on the volume now whereas before I used to have to turn it up to 11. It is too large to fit in a pocket so not that portable if you are out and about, unless you're taking a bag with you, but great around the home or in the garden. The triangular clip thing makes it ideal for hanging up in the shower which you can do as it is splash proof. I also bought it to use in the kitchen instead of a Bluetooth DAB radio as it can fulfil that function via streaming from my phone + Spotify & my own music stored on my phone. I also liked the ability to add an SD Card to it or connect via aux in cable, although I have not tried either of these yet. Battery life seems very good. I guess the only thing that might have been nice if you are using the SD Card facility would be a random or shuffle play facility as I believe it just plays the SD Card tracks in order, but as I play music from a card in my phone which can shuffle it's not that big a deal for me. So overall it seems like a great little package with a big sound for not too much money - highly recommend.

Seriously?!?!? Well done Brits, well done neocore
Dear potential buyer or a person reading this just to see what's what. Long story short - I'm not a big review writer for items which are not really worth it. But hey, here we go again! From the bottom of my heart: THIS IS SOMETHING AMAZING! What a value for money! made in Britain, desing is nice and simple, loud enough and small enough to cruise around with it everywhere you go, micro sd card to play your tunes out of, seriously - neocore - you deliver and believe in what you deliver - well done. First impressions - how the hell does this small sized thing pumps that big amount of bass out of it? Like seriously? I love all sort of music and this buddy delivers. I will make sure that there's always a spot for it in my backpack or whatever to have it on the go wherever I go. Literally - made my day... Thanks for your time. Hope it wasn't too boring to read. Cheers

Terrifyingly good
For how cheap and small it is I wasn't expecting it to have me jump out of my skin when it first started playing. This thing can go LOUD. I bought it specifically to put an SD card in it to play music from. Fair warning, it's very good at that - The moment you insert that card with it turned on it'll automatically start playing... And for me that was at full volume and it damn near killed me. It certainly looks like a solid piece of kit and it comes with all the gubbins - an aux cord and micro USB cable (supply your own USB plug, but that's EU regulation) plus a little carabiner clip. Sound quality wise it's punching WELL above its weight (in terms of both weight and price) - It weighs a little more than it looks it would, but still only about as much as a tin of beans. The bass is very good, evidently the focus, the upper ranges do get distorted by the bass, but the mid ranges remain clear throughout. Overall, I've heard sound systems that cost twice as much sound half as good. It's currently sat on my previous desktop speaker playing away at a normal volume, but still causing my desk to vibrate with its bass. I don't know what magic they used to put that much shout in such a small box but it's worth more than the asking price. I can't rate the battery life, I have no intention of running it unpowered for long periods of time, but ease of use (all I did was put an MP3 on the SD card. No special folder names or converting needed), sound quality and sheer VOLUME it's well worth taking above something like Sony's XB series equivalents.
