I recently purchased the Backbone One Mobile Gaming Controller, and it has completely transformed my mobile gaming experience. The setup was straightforward—just plug in my iPhone, and I was ready to play. The controller feels very comfortable in the hand, and the tactile feedback from the analog sticks is excellent—responsive and satisfying to use, much like a traditional console controller. Pros: Seamless Integration: Works flawlessly with my iPhone, providing a console-like gaming experience. Ergonomic Design: Comfortable to hold during extended gaming sessions. Tactile Analog Sticks: Great feedback that enhances control and precision. Low Latency: Responsive controls with minimal input delay. Pass-Through Charging: Allows me to charge my phone while gaming, ensuring uninterrupted play. Backbone App Access: Provides a hub for all my games, game recommendations, and social features. Cons: Price Point: Slightly on the expensive side, but the quality justifies the cost. My partner bought me this because I've been suffering with a herniated disc with nerve compression and so couldn't enjoy sitting in my PC chair to game at present. Using this little bit of kit I've been able to not only play on my PS5 while laid comfortably but also my Xbox and Steam games as well as some Google Play Store games. The buttons feel great to use albeit took a little getting used to if you're more accustomed to a PS5 controller. It easily fits my Samsung S23 Ultra although I do have to remove my case as mine is designed to combat my clumsiness and is therefore rather chunky. The app itself is a great addition to making things easier to switch between sources of games and took no time at all to set up. Due to my back issues I've not as yet been able to test this on the go but if you are like me and have a medical issue that affects your hobby this is a fantastic middle ground to help you out.

The device itself is great. Feels great, looks great and the form factor is great. Perfectly portable and paired with a good game it is incredible how well it replicates the mobile gaming device feel. The app is a scam. The product description (and all the media adverts I have seen for the device) state that you can plug the device into a multitude of other devices via USB-C and use it as a controller with this devices. You can’t unfortunately. Not unless you pay £40 a year for the privilege through a Backbone+ subscription. This feels like a ridiculous thing to lock behind a subscription. It isn’t a service. It’s locking out hardware features. Hardware that has already been bought. There is nothing else in the subscription that justifies the cost either. They advertise chat and friends list (on a mobile device !?!? - those already exist on a phone, or can be downloaded for free through other, much more common and robust apps). They also advertise a months Xbox Gamepass or Apple Arcade subscription, but these are trials (that you’re actually paying Backbone for ?!?) and can be acquired for free through other means. Free trials are ten a penny. Great device. Shockingly scummy app monetisation. Four stars, simply because this is a review for the actual device.

I was sceptical about purchasing this, but the 2nd gen version is just awesome. It fits my S23 Ultra perfectly fine without a case and it is incredibly easy to install. Okay, so not all games are supported but this is not Backbone's fault and you can custom the controls for some apps as well (redream, dolphin). For the games that allow controller support, it works great. I am having a blast playing Stardew Valley with it on Google Play and the Xbox cloud feature is a game changer. I just wish I had purchased one sooner. Don't expect all games to work with this, but you can play most games via Steam Link, Playstation Link, Xbox cloud Gaming, Xbox link and Play Store games. I am sure that over time, more games will be added. 100% recommend.

I had the first edition of this and it worked flawlessly. The EU decided to force apple to have USB C connectors so I saw this as an opportunity to purchase the PlayStation version as I prefer the button layout. How wrong I have been. The device stopped working around a week ago due to a faulty ribbon connection. I should have just approached Amazon for a replacement but decided to approach backbone. Their customer support is absolutely shocking. They don’t care at all. They are the least helpful customer support on this planet. This review admittedly is more about their customer service than the device but I can’t comment on the device as it’s not been working. Apparently the ribbon fault is very, very common and the company are doing nothing about it.

Its amazing! People should DEFINITELY get this item if they have a ps5. It turns your phone into the ps5 version of a nintendo switch, tho the spring to make it longer is pretty wobbly, it doesn't do anything with gameplay.

今回で3回目の購入です。 1回目は今年の２月に購入しましたが、LTボタンが反応しなくなりました。 その為2回目の購入を５月にしましたが、先日左ジョイスティックか壊れ、横方向に反応しなくなりました。 ３ヶ月程度で壊れるので、前回もレビューしましたが、耐久性に問題があります。 商品自体は良いものだと思いますが、値段 に見合う頑丈さが欲しいです。 バックボーンブロはさらに1万円程高いので耐久性がこの商品より高いのであれば購入したいです。 現在Amazonでは在庫はありませんが。
