I notice that in the discription, it is stated that these sheets are "as soft as 1500 thread count egyptian cotton"...what is the ACTUAL thread count?

I am not sure what the actual thread count of the sheets are but I can say these are the softest, most comfortable sheets I have ever owned :)

I ordered this item and it only came with two pillowcases when it supposed to come with 4 pillowcases. Where are my other two pillowcases?

It's a 4 piece set. 1 flat sheet, 1 fitted sheet, 2 pillow cases. If it came with 4 pillow cases, it'd be a 6 piece set.

what are the advantages/disadvantages of microfiber sheets vs. cotton sheets?

The advantage (for the company you buy from and the makers) is you get to over pay for a cheap product which puts more money in some greedy company's pocket. The disadvantage is that you're getting a thin, low quality product, that's your guess is as good as mine as to what it's really made of, which will more than likely expose you to chemicals (that they know about, but ate hushing up) that will cause various degrees of illness. Otherwise, why do they try disguising the fact that there is nothing natural about it, not even a single bit of cotton. You have to stroll down to read the full description. Even then they are loath to admit what they really are and many times try to gloss over it or talk them up like they are if such great quality and so good for the earth. Truth is folks you very rarely find something made of unnatural materials that's good for humans or the earth!
