This may literally be the best tabletop game experience I've ever had. I was not a big Ticket to Ride player but I had heard from a number of friends how good this game was. My family plays games together (on the more complex side) even though my girls are young. This game is just the perfect family mix - it's challenging without being a brain-burner. It starts simple (similar to the base game) and gets more complex with each chapter. There is variability that is thoughtfully controlled by which map expansion is chosen next and there are clever (and subtle) catch-up mechanisms built in. The Legacy aspects are so much fun. Everyone loves opening the blind boxes and learning what new rules and components are to be added. It's a dozen installments - the first one took ~2 hours and as we are nearing the end, the more complex chapters are probably 3 hours. It's an pricey game but it's a LOT of entertainment that we really look forward to coming back to. Compare the value of this to the same time spent watching some Netflix series - there is no contest. Just a great, great game. Brilliant.

This game was extremely fun! I've never played a game like this where you basically create it along the way. It starts out as a basic game with a few rules and you add new board pieces and rules and other things along the way. My parents came to visit and we were able to finish it during their stay (we played it every day for seven days). Once you have finished the story and declared a winner, there are also rules for how to play after that, so it's not a one and done game.

A fun legacy game that builds on itself in a fun, manageable way. Played solo and still had a blast. Play time increases as the game developed due to adding more train cars each game.

Way more fun than we expected. Every campaign has new surprises and adds am entirely different componentbto the traditional ticket to ride game. We are about halfway through and can't wait to finish building out the game.

If you love board games then you will love this game! You need to play it with the right people that will make it through the entire series of games. My family was not the right choice as we are on the last game but nobody wants to play it except for me. I love that after completing the campaign you are left with your own customized copy that you can play again!!

If you enjoy Ticket to Ride and are looking for the opportunity to create your own unique board, this is the game for you. I recommend having the same group that is willing to play regularly to ensure you get a consistent playing experience as each game will bring on new twists and challenges. I purchased this game with an exact group in mind and one of our players does not regularly play any version of Ticket to Ride and they greatly enjoyed this game. This is not a beginners board game and if you are unfamiliar with the mechanics of a legacy game, I recommend reading up on that before venturing into this game. My family and I had so much fun playing this 12 campaign game. We were already ticket to ride fans but this took TTR to a whole new level! The box and game pieces are high quality. We loved that with each campaign new elements were added. It kept us on our toes with the ever changing ways to earn points. After 12 campaigns we had a winner! But that’s not all. We had a unique, one of a kind, game created by us! This game is worth every penny. 5+ stars!

For all ticket enthusiasts. This is the next step for the ultimate game.

When you think there couldn’t be a better Ticket to Ride, Legends of the West comes along! This is an absolute must for TTR fans. Worth every penny in my opinion. Due to the design, you can only play the campaign once. We started by trying to preserve it so we could play it again in future but it was taking the edge off the game and as the campaign progressed, it got harder to manager, so we just enjoyed the game and taking the hit we can only play the campaign once. 8 out of 12 campaign games in and we’re loving it! Friends are going to buy one each so we can play again at a later date. Costs more than your average board game but truly worth it. I have hundreds of games but I can honestly say, this I my best one! Great fun, great story, great quality. Days of Wonder & TTR, how are you going to top this?!

Bought this and it was awesome! It was like opening a new game within the game every game, after the third one. The only thing that was disappointing, was that a LOT of the game components are permanently taken out of the game once the campaign is over (after you've played everything, which is about 13 or 14 games). It just becomes a normal Ticket to Ride that uses a few of the cards that you gained during the campaign and stickers you put on the board to make them permanent paths (instead of the usual colors they have on there already). It was worth it for all the fun we had playing it during the campaign, just wish we could still use some of the components that we discovered/opened during the campaign. I hope they come up with new ideas and other games like this.
