I love the June Tailor Quilt As You Go projects--and google and find her videos, which are well produced, shows exactly how to make them, and the finished results. The kit will have directions for cutting out your choice of fabric (fabrics not included) the instruction for stitching are all numbers--- You will have your backing fabric, your pre-printed batting piece, and then your various fabrics to create your design. The instructions recommend starching and ironing the fabric before cutting--DO IT, because it gives the fabric extra body, does not stretch out of shape, and makes the process work smoothly. The start the project, the center piece is where you begin by laying on the pre-printed batting. Then you lay your first strip (right sides together) on top of the center piece where #2 is, repeat for #3 and you just finger press (do not iron) your seams in place--they will line up with the lines on the pre-printed batting, continue with pieces 4 and 5, finger pressing and then you continue until you have stitch all the pieces. I machine quilted the centers (my choice) Trim the seams along the indicated lines, attach your binding by machine and hand-stitch on the back and you are done. I have been making my husband and I themed June Tailor Quilt As You Go placemats for each month (pictured above)--December is Christmas; January is Snowmen; February is Love and I like that it is cooking/baking too. I already have the fabric cut out for March--St. Patrick's Day and Easter, bunnies. The creativity is endless and allows each person to become an artist. The instructions are clear and precise--the large center piece is 7½ in square (and I highly recommend using a 7½ X 7½ square grid) and the strips are all cut at 2 inches and vary on length. Fabric needed is in the instruction and visible on the packaging. What I found is that June Tailor has a video you can watch of how to make, and it is so easy. I do highly recommend that you watch the video---use a rotary cutter and mat, and have fun creating placemats and table runners. Because we use are placemats every single day, I can vouch that the batting holds up well in the wash--because it is quilting in place as you make your project. I have enough placemat kits to make a new set per month for us and am having so much fun creating them. We love them! The table runner (which is a separate kit) will have a set of placemats to match--and will also match my kitchen and dining room curtains.

The quality is great. Easy to use directions and the placemats turned out great. Glad I decided to order them.

This is a great product. Works great for teaching someone to sew. Works great with jelly roll. The pattern tells you the length to cut each piece, it's # so tell you were to place it. Now just sew a straight 1/4inch seam add binding done. Easy peasy!!
