This JVC Car Stereo is a simple yet solid car radio upgrade. I installed it for my neighbor, and while it wasn’t exactly plug-and-play in his Hyundai, splicing about a dozen wires wasn’t too bad. Once installed, it worked great—fixing the intermittent issues with his old radio. He was especially happy with the USB port, which was a must-have for him, and the sound quality is noticeably better than his default radio. All in all, a straightforward solution for anyone looking to replace a faulty car stereo.

I really like that this stereo automatically sets the time for me and it knows the date too. Really handy. Sound output is great. The menu is a little bit tricky to navigate but if you have ur instructions with u, it shouidlnt' be too hard. Even parking for a min and messing around with the buttons should be enough to get u to a good audio preset. It also has manual mode too with lots of different frequency bands. It cost 90 bux which was definitely worth it. Don't ever buy a Boss stereo. I have had two , one of them lasted like three years and then crapped out and i bought a second one which died after a few weeks. Anyway, i highly recommend the jvc stereo, kind of wish it had came with a remote but not a big deal. Tons of options and its the best car stereo i've ever had, altho I am not an audio snob.

Installed this into an 1987 Monte Carlo. This provided great sound when paired with the Pioneer speakers in the front and the rear Kenwood speakers. I am not using an amp. Sound is clear. USB play back works well. The large knob is a great feature and makes controlling the radio easier when driving. The button placement is logical with the most used ones in logical locations. The display is easy to read. It is a nice feature that the display and button brightness can be programed. Also unlike many radios I have installed over the years this dims properly with when the headlights are turned on. This is a great stereo for cursing around with far superior sound quality to stock. It is not a deep radio so it fits well in the dash. A nice feature is that the clock sets itself off of the FM signal that it picks up. One downside is that the advertised app is not available for use with my Pixel phone. The play store states it cannot be installed since it was made for an older version of Android.

As I have owned nothing but Alpine since 1984 this was a interesting purchase. If you like setting the bass and treble for nearly every song, you are going to hate this receiver... But here is the good. The volume is like a modern car stereo so you don't blow speakers easily, it doesn't have a filter like some, but limits it to a tolerable distortion level at max volume. Its sound quality is poor at low volume, like when talking to someone, but from 1/4 to 3/4 it absolutely has outstanding clarity and quality for when you are driving. It gets a little fluttery when pushing it hard, but definitely does a decent job. Yes a Alpine will beat it for sound quality at max volume, but do you listen to everything at max? Its loud, clean, and with a handful of bass frequencies and treble adjustments it sounds just as good as any Alpine. It just doesn't at low and max volume. I would buy again for the price, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent quality head unit at a cheap price.
