AMACO Velvet Underglaze, 2 oz. (59 mL), V-361 Jet Black

Nice true black. I fired at cone 10 under clear glaze, no problems. I was also able to do watercolor style designs under clear glaze and the watered down areas of the design didn’t burn away at all.

Amaco glazes /underglazes are the best i use a lot of their glazes. They always turn out great .

So far this is my favorite black underglaze. It goes on nice and smooth, with good coverage. Now my go-to for future underglaze needs

I wish I bought a bigger bottle!

All of the amaco underglazes are good. I use this to paint, as well as a wash over my work. Tip: if painting a design, first use on green ware, then apply again (as needed) on bisque. I’ve been testing this against the speedball black underglaze; haven’t wood fired the work yet, but amaco goes on more smoothly and evenly. This is just a potters’ staple.

The item was well packaged to avoid spilling it worked perfect and is actually a lot, I barely chipped any away in the entire semester of ceramics I had.

She uses this in her pottery making. She loves it for the color and finish.

I purchased the bottle on the left. Why has the fact that it’s lead free and kitchen safe been blacked out?
