The Housemaid Is Watching: An Instant Sunday Times Bestseller (The housemaid series, 3) : McFadden, Freida: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: incredible Read - Truly amazing literature, great twists and turns that got me fully hooked! Could not put this book down, great read! Review: Ridiculous plot but I loved reading it - I'd read the first two books in this series so knew about Millie's back story. She had been able to protect women in these books but this one seems to be more about protecting herself. The book was first published in 2024. It has 383 pages split into 80 chapters. In the Prologue there is a bloody death scene described by someone in the room. We presume they have murdered the victim as the narrator literally has blood on their hands. Of course, at this stage we have no clues about either person. Millie narrates most of the book and she is a really strong character who never leaves you in any doubt about what she is thinking. Her humour and vulnerabilities both come across clearly. It's a very easy book to read and the plot whips along really quickly. The story is full of people lying (including Millie) and it is fun for the reader to try to work out how much of it is true. There is another narrator who takes over for a while, towards the end and gives the story a major twist. The plot is completely ridiculous and won't stay in my head for long. However, I think the book is fun to read and I'm going to get another one by this author.

Not as good as the first two
It was ok. It wasn’t as good as the first two books, but an easy read whilst on holiday, it just wasn’t that gripping.

fantastic
This was by far my most favourite of the housemaid series. So many twists and turns, so emotively written and all the characters so believable.

The book is full of great characters
The Housemaid Is Watching, is the third instalment of the ‘Housemaid’ series by Freida McFadden. This is a dark, twisty domestic thriller, full of suspense and surprises. Millie Accardi, once a housemaid with a dangerous past, now seems to have it all, a loving husband, two children, and a fresh start in a quiet suburban cul-de-sac. But not everything is as rosy as it appears. Millie and Enzo’s new life in their dream home begins to unravel almost immediately. Their neighbours are far from welcoming, there’s the flirtatious and mysterious Suzette Lowell, her silent housemaid Martha, and Janice, the busybody who always seems to know a little too much. Enzo starts acting strangely and a hidden room in the house reveals unsettling secrets, resulting in Millie’s fragile sense of safety crumbling. She begins to question everything, her husband, her neighbours, and even herself, as an unseen watcher closes in on her family. This is a novel full of tension and surprises, and the suburban setting becomes a pressure cooker of lies, jealousy, and obsession, where every closed curtain hides a secret. Millie is once again forced to confront the shadows of her past, and this time her family’s survival is at stake. The book is full of great characters, that are multifaceted, good, bad, likeable and villainous. I would rate this book 3.5 stars.

Worth it 😊
I think this is the best of all these books, a complex plot with many plot twists!

Nice ending to the series
Great finisher if it's a little slower to get going. Loved the series and devoured every one of them. Great author!

Great book. Loved the twists and the last adventure it gave to Millie and Enzo. It was a great ending to an epic couples story.

Che dire? Assolutamente eccezionale. Cinque stelle meritatissime.
