Sea them and forget it
I used to tape most of my connections but after looking into these marine grade shrink tubes I figured it would be a much better way of covering splices and sealing them out. After I got them I tested them on a few splices. They’re easy to use and very effective. They work well at sealing the wires and the adhesive really sticks them in place and seals everything up. Use a lighter or heat gun and the really shrink down quite a bit.

Perfect for Automotive & DIY Wiring
This heat shrink tubing kit is excellent quality and a must-have for anyone working with wiring. The 3:1 shrink ratio is perfect—it shrinks down tightly and evenly, and the adhesive lining creates a waterproof seal that feels professional and long-lasting. I’ve used it on automotive repairs and small electronics projects, and it holds up very well. The assortment of sizes is generous, covering just about any application from small gauge wires to heavier connections. The material feels thick and durable but still shrinks smoothly with a heat gun. Once cooled, the tubing is tough and resistant to pulling, moisture, and abrasion. I also appreciate that the kit includes 400 pieces—it’s plenty for multiple projects, and the organized case keeps everything sorted. The black and red colors make it easy to keep track of positive and negative wiring, which is a nice touch. If you’re doing automotive, marine, or general electronics work, this set is an excellent value. Strong seal, reliable quality, and easy to use—highly recommended

The 3:1 shrink ratio and the adhesive are really good features
Black, Red - 400 PCS - This is good stuff. The 3 to 1 shrink ratio solved my usual problem with other heat shrinks. I like connections that are strong, physically and electrically very robust, so I often times use a parallel connector rather than a "butt" connector. Parallel connectors are kind of fat. With 3:1 shrink ratio I can pick a shrink tube size that fits over the fat connector and still shrinks down tight over the wires. I use it pretty much everywhere though, not just on parallel connectors. I do like the adhesive. It is very strong and grips onto the wire insulation very well, so if your wire gets pulled severely by something, the connection is just about as strong as the wire itself. I use this on automotive wires and any other project I have going. I checked the adhesive strength by putting 2 wires end-to-end butt-connector style without the butt connector. The wires weren't even touching each other. Just sitting end to end with heat shrink over. Shrunk it, then tried to pull them apart a couple minutes after they cooled down. Couldn't really do it. That was with ~ 16 gauge GSX type automotive wire. The only "disadvantage" I can think of is that it doesn't shrink as fast - I mean you have to heat it a little longer to shrink it, compared to the regular 2:1 stuff with no adhesive. I'm using a proper 2-settings hot air gun made for this purpose.

Strength, great shrinkage and the glue seal are all welcome attributes.
Great feel to them, great shrinkage, good glue. I say "good on the glue because in one application of many, on a garden hose that burst it's inner sleeve, the glue has deteriorated under harsh sun, weather and lots of handling. That's probably still great then but it has deteriorated so 4 stars. On static wires, the glue has held. The variety is great too. These are amongst the best tubing I've ever used. One type more rubbery and flexible (again, the 4 stars on this one) but really no complaints with these.

Takes Heat Shrink Sealing to a New Level!
I never knew "marine" grade heat shrink tubing existed until a neighbor enlightened me. So, I searched Amazon and bought this kit for the "Pros" listed below, plus the good Amazon review score. My video shows the ease of use and my photo shows the cooled connection with a thin bead of hardened adhesive between the wire and the tubing. That's where the waterproofing comes from. Pros: Kit includes several tubing diameters that will work with the most common wire gauges. The quantity of each size is very generous - 360 pieces may last me the rest of my life! The 3-1/2" length of each piece is enough for most needs. The adhesive lining provides a secure and waterproof connection. The carrying/storage case is a big plus and makes it simple to find the optimal sized tubing. The 3:1 shrink ratio pretty much guarantees a good seal. Cons: None that I am aware of. In summary, I've had non-adhesive shrink tubing allow the wires to pull loose from the connection many times because the tubing didn't form a tight enough bond to the wire. The adhesive liner with this tubing solves that problem. I wish I had discovered this type of heat shrink tubing long ago! Even when a wiring connection does not need to be waterproof, the adhesive adds greatly to the strength of the joint. You can't go wrong with this kit.

Sealing wires on a boat made easy...
We installed some new equipment on our boat ourselves and wanted to be sure the wires were sealed well. We found this heat shrink and have used this tubing kit. It had the sizes we needed, shrunk up well, and seems to be working just fine. We are incredibly pleased with this product!

Prep is key
I have been using this set for the last week now fixing the wiring on my vehicle. The shrink wrap is very strong and heat resistant once it sets. The sizes work very well and the adhesive is perfect. I don’t have to pinch the ends of it like with other heat shrink to make sure that it’s sealed. I absolutely recommend this to anyone who wants to work on their own hobby projects with wires or to any mechanic.
