This is a great product from what I can tell, I mean how can you tell that it does what it says it does? The only way I can tell is that the final product, in my case beer, is not getting ruined from contaminated equipment, I have never had an issue with a batch from using this. I like that is Low Foam, some people say it is no foam, but it will foam a bit if you shake the jug or mix it with he water with a stirrer or similar. No rinse needed after use is great. There is not more to say, a would like to see it a bit cheaper. Definitely a must have in your supply if you are a home-brewer of any kind where your batches is sensitive to bacteria's or contaminants.

I contacted Five Star Chemicals about the color change of Saniclean. They did indeed change the formulation to a clear liquid (it is no longer blue/brown). I've always been happy with it; I'll be checking on the new formula's performance. Five Star, if you read this, you might want to chime in with some comments on the new formula. A question about the color I asked (in the Q&A section above) was answered by another buyer with the comment, "Saniclean is an iodine-based cleaner". IT IS NOT IODINE-BASED. It is an acid based sanitizer, similar to Star San, but different. IT IS NOT like Iodophor. Don't be confused. Hope this helps.

I bouught this product to sanitize bottles and jars for my fermentation and brewing projects. Well, actually I wanted to buy Star San, but it says "brewing" in the title and I thought it would be better for my projects. I researched the differences, but it should be just your preference. Star San forms and Suniclean doesn't, etc. People say both works very well. Anyway, it has some chemical (bleach-ish) smell to the liquid but I didn't really smell it after rinsing. I have some wine fermentation going on in the jar I sanitized with this product, but there's no smell left to it. Overall I'm satisfied, but still curious about Star San.

Basically it is just sanitizer, but pricing was fair, shipment was fast and product arrived undamaged. I prefer this item due to the low suds formula even though it takes a couple extra minutes for sanitation.
