Nothing was damaged, so it either got bounced around during shipping or was simply a defective one. I set up a return and in two days had a replacement with no problems. The new one came within a day or two and works properly and is accurate, so I think it's a good value for someone that only uses this occasionally. Not sure how they would hold up to everyday professional use, but time will tell. Feel comfortable with this purchase, because they will allow you to return or replace it if you aren't happy. Bought this scale to weigh refrigerant as it is added to a system. Works well and is accurate from what I can tell. Saves the last weight entered when it shuts off on battery saver which is nice. Wish it had an option to show pounds and ounces at the same time instead of switching between the two but for the price of the scale it is a great value.
