This little guitar ROCKS!!!
Lovely little guitar! I couldnโt put it down! Whatโs wrong with you lot? Doesnโt work? What are you not doing? Did you stretch the strings? Did you check the bridge and adjusted the height of the strings? Put the battery in the right way? I did! And guess what, I works!! Obviously not a fender or Gibson, so tickle it a bit and it works. If you canโt be bothered, pay the money for a decent guitar. I love to tinker with things, makes you the hero for your kids when you make it work! The guitar is a bit on the heavy side, but it needs to be so it can hold the strings! It has a nice finish-I got the red one- and only one pick up, but it does the job nicely. The machines are nice and smooth and soft, havenโt moved. I tuned it 3 days ago, and itโs still in tune(obviously AFTER stretching the strings, YouTube it, very helpful website, promise!). Strings are smooth, so perfect for little fingers that want to learn. I got some slinkys in case these break. The volume control knob is nice and smooth too, and works well without scratching. Little amp is little, canโt do concerts with it, but it makes a fair bit of noise. Got some kids headphones to go with it to keep the noise down. You will have to get an adaptor as the aux out is a 1/4inch, and normal headsets are 3/8ths I think. Has a little belt clip on the back, and comes with a shoulder strap as well. You can also plug in a power cable but thatโs not included. You will need a 9V battery. Comes with lead from the guitar to amp, a cheapo carry bag, and a shoulder strap for the guitar. Guess Iโll have to get mine out and practice before giving this to my little one, going to ha e to teach her something!

Good value children electric for beginners.
Nice little guitar for children. My son 7yo wanted to learn guitar and it's much easier to learn on an electric guitar. He dreamt on having electric guitar and begged until we gave in. The guitar is pretty basic. But for about 50ยฃยฑ it's a bargain. Don't expect any Sitka spruce here! The tuning pegs are low grade. The fretboard is ok, and the action was high. It was getting out of tune so i replaced the strings with a heavier gauge to Keep It in tune. But it is really fun to play! My son loves it. He still plays it after 3.months. that's what counts for me. It wored out of the box. The amp is not too loud to bother the neighbors, and it's just a toy in my opinion. On high volume it just shrieks. Once he learns to play i would replace the amp, while he can carry this guitar for some time. He plays it every day, and already eyes my 3/4 Spanish travel guitar but it is too big for him yet. So i am pleased with this purchase.

Impossible to tune properly
Nice looking little guitar but only good for a beginner who just started and maybe for a month worth of lessons where tuning doesn't matter that much. The reason for that is that the intonation is horrible. The scale is all messed up from the first fret. I mean I tune the top E string with an electric tuner and fretting the first fret is giving me an F half sharp rather than an F. This makes it impossible to tune properly and play open chords. Bar chords are a bit better but obviously always slightly out of tune vs eachother. I couldn't bother returning it and also my daughter liked it (she can't tell it is flat yet as she just started learning). The bridge is quite bad as well, and there is string buzz from it as it is set too low and can't be adjusted. Finally the nut is quite low on the high E string which makes it pop out but this can probably easily be fixed by either replacing it or shimmying it up a bit. Pickup is OK but of course really basic which is OK for the money. No feedback or noise what so ever so grounding is good. The little amp is OK as well so because of that and the pickup, I am giving it overall 2 stars instead of 1.

Fundamentally flawed and cannot play in tune
I'm an experienced guitarist, so my review isn't because of not knowing how to play. I have also since bought a different make/model/company and none of the issues I present here exist on that one - so it's not a case of "all short-scale guitars have this problem". The guitar is fundamentally flawed. I can only assume that either a) I received a faulty guitar or b) the template they make the guitar from has shifted a little. This guitar will never play in tune. If I was guessing, Iโd say the screw holes on the back of the neck are not in the correct place causing the neck to be incorrectly positioned. For example, not a single string will play in tune when comparing open string, 12th fret (the octave up) and the 12th natural harmonic. Every string is very sharp by the 12th fret, some borderline the next note up the scale. The bridge saddles are adjustable a little bit, but nowhere near enough to correct the incorrect pitching on the frets. More importantly, and this really is the key fault - the relative differences per string as substantial. For example, if the guitar is perfectly tuned EADGBE, playing an open G chord will sound a bit off, and an open D major will sound ghastly. The G string which should be sounding as an A is A#! If I was teaching, I'd be correcting my student as though they were playing the wrong notes. For a beginner, this would set them off on a bad journey of terrible pitch recognition and never being able to play along to any song/scale. The fretboard is very dry - bending strings feels like you're scratching fine sandpaper. The action is very high (height of strings from the frets) and cannot be lowered much. Reducing the height of the screws in the bridge saddles quickly turns fruitless as some of the saddles float in the air as the action from the neck is so high. Being a shorter-scale guitar, the big deflection in string when fretting due to higher action means the guitar goes further out of tune. The finishing of the frets themselves is good, although there are a few with sharp edges on either side of the fretboard. I wouldn't want to play quickly without addressing them as I'd worry about cut fingers. The alignment of the strings along the neck is ok. Not quite centre, but close. It means there's a lot of room to bend the top E (the thinnest string) upwards, but the low E (thickest string) is slightly at risk of sliding of the fretboard in the higher fret range. The pickup isn't centred on the strings, so each string is floating over an edge of the pickup pole. The amp isn't nice to listen to. It's a plain tone (fair enough and expected) and the gain isn't able to add any pleasant overdrive or distortion, but instead just goes to louder with audible clipping. Combined with how you play the guitar means it goes from "fairly clean and loud" to "uncomfortable on the ears" with simple picking dynamics. Other observable faults that don't impact playability but do attest to poor quality control. One of the bridge saddles had a missing screw. The plate on the back of the guitar hiding the electronics had 1 screw in at quite an angle. The strap has plastic clips on either end plus they are super tight to get on - requires a lot of pressure that you really worry about breaking something. Granted the strap feels secure once on, but I'm not sure I'm going to be able to get the strap off when I return the guitar.

Looks so smart for someone who is having lessons.
Loved the colour of this and child it was purchased for was delighted with it. Comes well packaged and was delivered on time. Sound of it is good, ideal for those children learning as it is the same make as they use.
