Excellent...reliable in extreme wx conditions

This works great! We live on a hill so it's windy all the time. We find ourselves sitting and staring at this thing now just to see what the wind is. Keep in mind that it only grabs a wind speed every 30 seconds.

It works. But was a little disappointed at the transmit frequency (time) to update wind speed.

Unit arrived on time and packed well in the usual Amazon box containing the unit in the manufacturers box. There are 4 major units: indoor display (looks like a smart phone), outdoor sensor, outdoor wind unit, outdoor bracket for the wind unit with 4 phillips screws. The bracket is designed to mount the unit on a fence post vertically or a 90 degree bracket segment used to mount the unit on my porch roof support column. Excellent quality and build. Worked right out of the box after going thru set up steps in the owners manual. Owners manual for set up took a bit to follow but worked out and instructions were clear. Illustrations in the owners manual were good. Website addresses are supplied by the manufacturer of Youtube videos to help with setting product features. I did use the one for the supplied outdoor sensor for locating it. The LCD display unit is big and easy to read in good lighting; at night, my dimly lit living room makes it hard to read the unit but I have a mini flashlight near my sofa (good ol Yankee ingenuity) to solve that and do not have to get up off my couch to read it. You need 7 AA batteries - 2 for the display, 2 for the outdoor sensor, 3 for the wind unit. I live in a part of the country that gets a lot of snow and ice during the winter; I am planning on taking the wind unit in for the winter; I have located the sensor on my porch in a sheltered place. Ordered a 2nd unit as a gift for my daughter's house. Happy Camper

I purchased this to compliment an Accurate weather station purchased at the same. This La Crosse unit was within 2° on temp and 5 points of humidity % compared to my local weather app. I bought this system specifically for the indoor temp and humidity and outdoor wind speed. The outdoor temp and humidity is just a comparison reading to the Accurite system. Was happy at how close to accurate this was out of the box compared to my local weather app. Had to manually adjust the Accurite to get the readings close to the app and the La Crosse system. Wind speed seems accurate. I would have liked a color display like my Accurite has but it is still very readable except at night and would have been good if there was a backlight button for 30 second illumination. The La Crosse supports a rain gauge (sold separately) but the reviews are not very positive and my other weather station already has a rain gauge feature. Connected just fine about 100' away from the indoor sensor. I feel like this was a good value for the additional features to compliment my other system.

Interested mostly in wind speed but other features also work very well. For the price I wasn’t expecting perfection but it has worked perfectly for 6 months now. So far, so good.

Never worked.

Used some 2 inch PVC pipe to put wind cups up 30 feet. Master control panel works well. Aib Only complaint is when batteries in master controller are changed all data is lost and have to reset everything, date, time etc.

Wind speed doesn't work. Another cheap ass product that doesn't work out of the box!
