Bath Sealant Tape (Can Seal over old sealant) 1½" x 11" White

Bought this because I thought I could save myself time removing the old sealant around our bath. I followed the supplied instructions very carefully and thought I'd done a good job. The tape and corner caps were well stuck down and it all looked very neat. Left it for well over the 8 hours required for the tape to 'bond' etc. but, unfortunately, part of it fell off the next day so I had to take the whole lot off. Disappointing.Several thoughts occurred to me: - 1. This is a totally rubbish product and not fit for purpose. 2. Maybe it's only suitable for use around a bath that doesn't contain a shower unit where it isn't going to be bombarded with large quantities of water. 3. Maybe it's both of these things.I wasn't sure whether to buy this or not because some reviewers claim it's an excellent product and some have had the same experience as me. I noticed that a comment in the Q & A section referred to applying fresh sealant before sticking the tape on top. I don't see the point of doing that unless it's to cover up bodged sealant! Water will still get through and you'll end up with a piece of flappy tape (stuck to sealant) with mould accumulating behind it. Yuk!Overall I wouldn't recommend this product.

Not the most attractive product but I wasn’t capable of reapplying silicon sealant. Quite wide so doesn’t give a subtle look. Was easy to apply though.I think it’s quite expensive for what it is.

would not stick to tiles came away after a while.

Hubbie found this quick & easy to fit but didn't like or use the corner fittings as they are a "weak point". The tape stopped the leak that we had for the first 3 or 4 showers after fitting ... but the shower is now leaking again, so not sure why?

It's not as sticky as I'd hoped but a bug if superglue and its still stuck on firmly. Don't get a lot of tape so be careful and cut the right size first time.

Good product let down by a lack of effective adhesive on the reverse of the strip. Needed additional adhesive to effect a water seal.

this is good to finish off the surround around the bath, but you need a sealant to go with it as will not stick for long but we have done this and it has been ok and like I said finishes off the bath surround good, extra protection

Even with significant surface prep, the adhesion was not long lasting. For me this is a good short-term stop-gap solution, but no substitute for a pro plumbed solution
