So glad we got this!
We had a SimpliSafe doorbell & a lot of times it didn't work! My husband found this. He felt that the instruction were very good and that it was easy to hook up and very clear, and it worked quickly and easily and we didn't have to call for assistance, or anything. We both love that you don't have to pay for any service to save anything to, which save money! The security is stellar! It also has two cameras, which we really love! It picks up every single delivery & even people walking in the driveway or yard! It has a pack camera that looks at the floor of the porch, and if there's a package, a little round picture that allows you a quick but really good look at the package. It's also great that it's wired and hooks to our in-house doorbell that actually keeps the battery charged. Lighting can be left on or off because it has its own light, if needed, or as a huge added bonus, it can go infared. The videos are very clear & great and can be customized (small animals, etc). The view/detection areas can also be customized, which is great. The SimpliSafe camera used to always alert us for anyone going by on the road, but not for people who actually walked onto the porch! We love this Eufy camera! Additionally, you can watch the very clear videos on your phone or you can download them, if you want to. This Eufy Security Video Doorbell E340 is truly a professional system with top notch functionality! My husband & I both highly recommend it!

Smart, clear, and no subscription - love it!
This doorbell is a huge upgrade! The video quality is super clear, and I love the dual cameras - being able to see both visitors and packages is a game changer. The AI detection works really well and sends accurate alerts without constant false notifications. It also maps activity clearly so I know exactly what’s happening at my door. Best part: no subscription needed, which is a big win. Everything works smoothly in the app, and the overall experience feels very high-end. Definitely worth it if you want smart security without extra monthly fees!

Excellent device lots of settings easy to set up works extremely well with hb3
This is a lifesaver my neighbor is a criminal and this brings a lot of peace to me when I'm at doctor's appointments and things. And they've responded to every single time that I had a glitch or something the folks inside the app respond right away, I think they're doing good things and I'm looking to get more cameras this was so great I bought an inside camera from them and it works good too the pan and tilt it all connects to the home base 3 and it's pretty seamless once you get it up and running it's smooth. You can save a fortune then paying monthly or whatever it is to ring or whatever, I find this is something I haven't been able to live without and it stays up weeks months at a time without going down or needing any kind of maintenance. You can watch your camera on your phone while you're walking to the store or driving to the store if you live in a risky area this is the way to you to give yourself peace of mind and the detection software is amazing. You can always nitpick but there's not many downsides to this one I mean it it's got all the settings that you could need. Yeah I'd give it six stars if I could. It's got good lighting settings, it's got color night vision I believe, it has standard infrared, it's got sound detection, yeah it's a monster for the price I paid for it I really am impressed it's worth it,

Relatively new product, forward and down facing cameras, battery or wired operation
Installation: Went perfectly for me, first step is to charge at least one battery. I bought the package that included an extra battery because of all the reviews complaining about short battery life, it took about two and a half hours to charge the batteries. Batteries plug into your phone charger with an included usb c cable (5v, 3A charger). Battery life depends on lots of factors and can also be affected by the settings you're using. This unit can also be wired into existing doorbell wiring. My house does not have doorbell wiring so I just stayed with battery. It's important to note that currently, even if you use your existing doorbell wiring the battery is still required to be installed in the doorbell for whatever reason. Software app, android or apple, I use newest android on a galaxy s23 phone. Before starting installation, you'll need the name of the network you want to use and the wep key for it. Be aware it's 2.4ghz only so if you're using a newer mesh router that has one name for both frequencies 2.4/5ghz you could have problems getting it to connect. It may also help if your phone/tablet where the app is running is connected to the same wifi network. You start the app and scan a very tiny codebox on the bottom of the doorbell, keep moving the camera around eventually it scanned. It will ask for the network name and wep key and at some point you will need to scan another box with the doorbell forward facing camera. Once you get this far it's connected the rest is just tweaking settings for the most part. They give a fairly nice mounting setup in the box but you will have to drill holes for it. Amazon carries the vmei gd9 which mounts this doorbell to your door without drilling holes, very useful if you're renting or otherwise just don't want a permanent installation for whatever reason. Things to watch out for when picking mounting locations: If your door is flush with the outside wall of your house you can do pretty much what you want but if your door is "indented" a few inches all around that could affect your mounting choices. Settings: There are a few settings to play around with. I turned off package detection right away because every time a bird landed on my porch I was getting a package notification. You get a motion distance setting a couple options for the night vision and if you decide to get the home base it appears a whole new slew of options become available. I may buy the home base at some point because it adds facial recognition, up to 16T of storage with a 2.5" SSD (laptop drive) and some of the other AI stuff (which with some products you pay a monthly fee for that stuff). End result: Well I have a video doorbell that works very well in the daylight. For some reason, night vision is not happening. I may have settings I need to tweak or part of it could be caused by the door mount interfering with the illuminators on the doorbell somehow. Will post more when I figure it out. I have motion lighting on the front of the house so anyone that walks up the steps is going to trigger those lights which for the moment solves the problem but my old wyze doorbell so far appears to have a superior night vision to this one at the moment. I don't get many visitors after dark and I have other cameras that I can see what's going on with so not too worried about it. I like this product, especially the down facing camera to see packages left on the porch, I don't think this has been out for very long and the company still has some tweaking to do. This product is made in the same place so many of these products are made but I'm really not worried about somebody in china tapping into my doorbell to see who's visiting me because I'm just not that important, LOL. I suppose it's a little amusing that the router I have it connected to is made by TP Link another company that has gotten headlines lately to the point that they're talking about outlawing the use of these routers in the US at least by government installations, no one's said anything about civilian use. Update on the dark vision issue: when you bring up the controls for the doorbell there is a row of icons but apparently one of them was not showing up by default you have to scroll right to see the missing icon which looks like a light bulb. When you click that icon you get a lot better night vision image from the doorbell I imagine they did this to save battery life which is fine now that I know that's the issue. This apparently turns the illuminator on and off or one of them anyhow. Still working on the question of the chime, apparently amazon's Alexa hub will play a notification that someone's at the door when the button is pushed, Alexa does it, google home apparently doesn't or if it's supposed to I can't figure out how to make it work. I cannot hear the doorbell ringing from outside, for the sum of thirty dollars you can purchase an add on chime that also can use a 128 mb micro sd card and will backup all images from the door bell. I've seen exactly one review of this gadget and the reviewer said it gave her a very hard time getting it installed but it finally did and there are several settings on the doorbell that have to be changed after you install it before it properly puts all video on the sd card on the chime. I'm hoping my experience will be better, supposed to be here next week. There is a note on the app saying a new redesigned app is coming by the end of January it's my hope they will have fixed a lot of the issues people have been running into with this product. update: Add on chime arrived, it installed smoothly no issues and after the firmware updated it sucked all the stored video footage off the doorbell and onto the sd card installed in the chime with no intervention. Before adding the chime I did not seem to have access to the recorded events but the chime has corrected that issue and now I can access old and new recordings. The chime can take a class ten micro sd card up to 128 gb which is quite a lot of footage, probably more than i'd use in a year or more (Note: if a 128 card works, there's a good chance a larger card would work. If I have a chance to try a larger one I'll put info in here the "big name brand" cards would likely have the best chance of working since their manufacturing processes should be superior to a no name or cheap card). I'd still like to get the home base but not ready to spend a hundred fifty on that at the moment this will do for awhile. It has the advantage you can take the chime to other AC plugs around the house. I could not find any statement anywhere of how many chimes you can connect at the same time, some of the advertising I've seen sort of sounds like you can add multiple chimes. For me I'd rather just have the google home support for the doorbell since I've got hubs or mini hubs in every room of the house, sorry I would not consider switching to Alexa just for the doorbell. Doorbell power settings: You get several options for battery use in the doorbell settings (accessed with the gear when you open the doorbell output in the app. First one is zero motion sense and apparently even the button doesn't light up which should be best on battery usage . I have other cameras in the area of the doorbell so I could use this but right now I'm just trying to see how long a battery lasts. I don't have any traffic near my front door, most of my activations are critters in the yard and the occasional delivery. After a few days battery is only down ten percent. Other options are balanced which supposedly does the best with battery life and then two other modes that offer more adjustment of clip length etc. at the expense of battery life. The batteries are fairly large but the camera also records at good quality so it's still mostly a matter of how often the camera triggers on a daily basis that determines battery life. I set the distance to three bubbles which appears to be about fifteen feet from the doorway which is plenty for me. My front yard isn't huge but it's about fifty feet to the edge of the street from the front door. It's a mixed use area with some active farms nearby not a ton of traffic but enough activity I want to know who/what is at the door before I open it. The last selection in the power tab offers quite a bit of customization from clip length to human/other activations etc. it warns battery life will be worse if you use this section, haven't played with it yet. Google home is supposed to be able to display doorbell video on the hubs, having a few issues with that but it's not a major annoyance for the time being. Interesting function: In the camera settings you can set quick and automatic responses that will play on the doorbell when the button is pushed. A couple of common things are pre recorded but the thing that I just noticed and I believe is new in the last few days is the ability to record a "custom" quick response which then also appears in the auto response menu. I don't recall seeing this the last time I was in these menus, it was likely added either with my new chime firmware or the app update that's due out in the next couple days at the latest. I hate when solicitors knock on my door and I've got signs but sometimes they're ignored so that was the first one I recorded. Seems to allow for several seconds but it does have a minimum length or it will not save. Gotten more info about google home supposed to support the chime function, still not getting any farther figuring out how to make it work. At least I know I'm not crazy in thinking it's supposed to work. I believe I successfully linked Eufy into my google home settings, when it asks you for a security code that is a code that you create and provide right there it's not a code being given to you from anyplace. The instructions in the eufy app are sparse and unclear. So when it asks you for a code you create one and be sure to write it down someplace you won't lose it. Eufy's answer about google home as chime: Apparently if you use the "community" portion of the app Eufy is reading those and responding by email. The doorbell I have the 340, google home is still under development to be used as chime. In the meantime they suggest the mini chime I bought or the home base. The response made it sound like maybe other products can use it just not my unit the 340, oh well at least I don't feel like I wasted the money on the chime now. It is a good product and if I'm going to be on the other side of the house I can just unplug it and carry it over there with me and plug it in. Battery life: Had this for about two weeks, battery currently at above 70% not a huge number of "events" a couple per day including opening the front door (one disadvantage of door mounting, every time the door opens is an event that's recorded). I don't "think" the new version of the app is out yet can't really tell for sure. One month of use: Battery still hovering over 50% if you have workmen around be sure to go into settings and temporarily shut off the motion detection to avoid draining the battery. The notifications work flawlessly when there is motion or anyone presses the doorbell button. I like the chime unit for how it has the sd card slot to store footage off the door bell. You can play the saved footage and "share" it to yourself so you can save it on your phone for future reference or just leave it on the sd card. Very satisfied with the Eufy system so far, had to move something outside will probably look into one of their solar powered models to keep eyes on some current blind spots in my camera setup. Two way communication comment: I just have to comment here about the "quality" two way communication with this video doorbell. I've had a total of three products including this one and I have to say I feel this one is the best. Even when someone is fifteen feet or more from the door I can still clearly see, hear, and communicate with them (they aren't constantly saying what?) no echoes or feedback like some of the products I've used. I just like this thing better every day and I'd buy it again no second thoughts. Eufy's own in app store: If you're looking to add to your system be sure to keep an eye on the "in app" store they often put commonly purchased items on sale at a hefty discount. Currently the home base 3 is available fifty dollars cheaper than I've seen it anyplace else. I've decided to get a couple of their s220 solar cams and distribute them around a few blind spots on the property so at last the home base will be worth the purchase and make any new acquisitions that much easier to deal with along with the laptop drive that will store all the footage off everything once it's installed and become another chime as well for the doorbell setup. Update: Battery just hit 20% so I swapped it for the spare, so I got more than two weeks out of a battery set to "Balance Surveillance" in the settings. If I wasn't using the door mount, battery would have lasted longer because with it on the door every time the door opens it activates. I just got my home base in the mail it was not hard to setup and I had a 500 gb laptop drive to use with it, they list name brands for the drives that are known to work properly with it so just stick to the names pny, western digital, corsair, samsung etc. and you'll have no issues I think I paid about fifty dollars for this pny drive at best buy of course you can do better at places like newegg or amazon for more storage. If there's footage I need, I immediately offload it to my phone so it's saved on my google drive. Drives up to about four gig are not too expensive but there are larger available. The home base can apparently handle up to ten devices each, I haven't had a chance to rip out the doorbell and connect via the home base yet but I've had a couple of connection issues lately when connected via wifi and I'm hoping the home base will improve that situation. Homebase apparently allows for something like 600+ feet from the home base for a connection which is a considerable range and probably way more than I'll ever need in my 1200 sq ft house on a half acre lot. So now I have the home base that can apparently act as a chime and the AC plug in chime which can now be moved to some other part of the house plus you get the notifications on your phone. I have plans to buy a couple of the basic solar powered cameras but that likely won't be for awhile have to pay off the couple things I already have first. note on the "mini-base" add on chime. When I setup the home base three I didn't immediately connect the doorbell to it (or should I say re-connect) it knocked out the mini base chime and I was not getting any ringing from it. So once you add a homebase it gets "grabby" about some things even if you haven't connected anything to it yet so be aware of that. After I realized my mini base chime wasn't working I tore the doorbell out and connected it to the home base which went flawlessly. I'm using the home base with a wired connect to a router port but it can also work over the network, now the home base plays the chime when someone pushes the button outside. There is a "add on" chime that plugs into the back of the home base 3 with a usb dongle and then you can plug the unit into an AC outlet anyplace in the house in range and it will play the chime. There are two usb ports on the home base but it appears you can only have one additional chime besides the home base which is fine for my house. Be aware that they need to rewrite some of their information on the amazon page, apparently support for the home base three and the 340 door bell may have only been added recently so you see a lot of info that seems to indicate they can't work together when they can and reports of folks having issues getting them to work right together as well (could be they needed firmware updates or had older versions of the software). update: Found out there is a way to add up to four chimes but only with a homebase 2 or 3 in your system. The "add on" chime that connects to the homebase with a usb dongle can supposedly control up to four chimes that can then be plugged into an AC outlet anyplace in range (each of these chimes has buttons on the side to select volume and chime selection (8 included not expandable apparently). update 3-2025: While I initially had a problem with package detection mode an update appears to have corrected that. I got a package this morning and it made a tone on my phone and then highlighted the package sitting on the ground when I viewed the notification on the phone. Very happy with this door bell. Only problem I'm having is people don't seem to see it mounted on the door and continue to knock, I wonder if the light around the push button is not always illuminating properly so people can see it. I solved this with a hunk of cloth tape that says "push the button" works great now, lol Note: my internet decided to go out today. I'm guessing that because the home base makes it's own private wifi you will get a doorbell chime on the home base if someone pushes the button. I'm very surprised and glad that I at least have that much working with no internet. At some point eufy corrected the issue I was having getting the doorbell output to display on my google home displays that is now working properly. All the "noise" works great but what if you're on a phone call with a head set, in a discord chat with a headset etc? I'd like a "visual indicator" pop up on the lock screen or better yet...on your smart TV or pc when the doorbell button is pressed, I think that would be a great feature to add to this product, I hope they consider adding this I put in a suggestion through the app. Note have had this for over a year, overall it's a great door bell, I choose to blame my cheapie router that I use for 2.4ghz wifi but occasionally I do not get motion notifications and pressing the doorbell doesn't result in either app notification or a ringing doorbell. I would "like" it if they could add the option to play the doorbell tune more than once, if I'm asleep I am sometimes not hearing the doorbell. If you're using the home base three there is a setting buried in there someplace (I sure as heck cannot find it again for sure) that turns on motion sensing from this doorbell to be treated like a security system motion sensor and you'll get additional siren notification if the doorbell picks up motion even if the button is never pressed. The Eufy app will present the option to turn off the siren...I like it because that one WILL wake me up and it tends to activate while the person is still walking up to the door and it will say "front doorbell" or whatever you've named your device. I bought an E20 motion sensor but it cannot be placed in direct weather (dust/splash only), so now that I found this capability on the doorbell I'll probably put that one on my backdoor under the eaves. Love the doorbell, I only wish I could figure out what prevents it from working on occasion but as far as I can tell it's not the Eufy product so much as my wifi gear that is most likely the issue. Eufy has a new really fancy home base, might upgrade to that at some point not sure. There are a couple of third party products selling larger batteries for this doorbell. I bought a pair of OHZHAO 8200 Mah batteries these are fair bit larger than the 6500 Mah batteries sold by Eufy, I just bought these and so far I seem to be getting at least a few extra weeks before I have to change the battery out on the doorbell and recharge it. Of course the best way to handle it would be to add doorbell wiring but i'm currently using one of the no drill door mounts sold for this doorbell and its not possible to hard wire those. I still love this doorbell it works very well 99% of the time for sure.

The best video camera I have had to date
This eufy doorbells on a whole different level compared to my previous system (from a very popular brand that shall remain unnamed, iykyk). This one is way more intuitive, easier to manage, and just feels smarter overall. Super easy for a non-tech savvy gal like me. First of all the video quality? Perf. The nighttime looks like daytime. I was not expecting it to be that clear without blasting a spotlight everywhere, but here we are. Bonus points that I can toggle on and off basically EVERYTHING woth these cameras, something my old system severely lacked on. It’s crisp and you can actually see what’s going on instead of grainy blobs. The motion detection is also much better. I’m not getting spammed every time my windchimes moves, which is such a relief. No monthly fees is the straight up cherry on top, i got SO sick of paying monthly fees on... the other brand. Local storage, expandable options, easy app control it just works. Setup was smooth, everything feels premium, and I finally feel like my home security is actually secure instead of hoping for the best. Couldn’t be happier with my experience as a whole. There is a tiny lag when opening an event but its so miniscule it does not bother me, plus it is recording the whole time so no capturing worries. It is fully compatible with my other eufy system pieces so it feels like a seamless add on.

Great Video Doorbell
Easy enough to install and replace a previous hardwired doorbell. The 15 degree mounting bracket add-on came in very handy, not only to make sure I had the right view for the front door, but also provide a little extra storage space for the wire caps for the extension cables. Definitely use the positioning tape/guide to make it easy to see where the mounting brackets and screws need to be. Battery took 3-5 hours to fully charge before installing and using. Sound quality is spot on, and easy to customize and is compatible with Homebase 3 and Eufy app for alerts; some older doorbell chimes may not work alongside this though, and Homebase alert sounds are limited. Would be nice to be able to customize your own alert sound. You do need to adjust the detection settings as it was picking up every little motion and cars all the way on the street. Lots of features in the app, mostly AI-based to alert you of when a package is delivered, if someone messes with a delivery after, and whether a delivery was forgotten after a certain time you can set. Concerns: I've read there are concerns with the battery charge while hardwired, but it appears the battery will deplete until <90% then start charging back up. Mine has hovered between 88-90% without the chime jumper cables, but I have installed those to see if that changes anything. Transformer already met requirements. At night, there is a slight flicker around the package camera edges, but it's not the actual light causing it; during the day the video is fine. Most likely due to ground/surface surroundings and the infrared light, but isn't affecting the main area of the video feed. Main camera during the day and night is great quality.

Gtreat value with the peace of mind without monthly subscriptions!
The video and audio quality on this Eufy Doorbell camera is honestly incredible for the price. Everything looks sharp and clear, and the overall feed quality is way better than you’d expect without needing any kind of subscription. One thing I noticed is that package detection mainly works from the toe camera. So if, for example, someone kicks a package out of frame, it might not detect it as an eventbut you can still see it happen in the footage. The battery life is another big plus. It comes with a 6500mAh battery that takes about 5 hours to fully charge and can last up to 180 days depending on your settings, which is very impressive! For storage, it connects to the HomeBase 3. I have a 500GB SSD installed in mine along with my other Eufy cameras connected , so now I’ve got full coverage of my house without paying for cloud storage. Overall, this is easily one of the best doorbell cameras you can get at this price, especially if you want to avoid monthly/yearly subscriptions even the AI motion detection is free unlike other brands like Arlo which charge a ridiculous amount of money for basic features & storage. In the long run this will give you peace of mind without the headache of monthly subscriptions.

It only has 2 pros, but many cons and issues that I was unable to resolve. UPDATE!
UPDATE 8/3/25 I finally got so frustrated with this doorbell camera that I decided to return it. There were literally only 2 things I liked about this doorbell camera - the duel camera set-up to see both people and packages on the porch, and not needing a paid subscription to utilize it fully. That's it! Everything else sucked! The motion sensing, the app, the notification ringtones, the night view, etc. Some I outlined in my initial review (ringtones for one), but I ended up having other issues over time as well. In the end I just couldn't deal with the continuing, on-going problems anymore. For some reason, the motion detecting zone I set up kept reverting to the default every couple of days. I could always tell because I would start to get random motion notifications that were outside of the detection zone I set up. I would set it up again, only to have it revert to default a couple of days later again! Even when the detection zone was in place, I would get alerts whenever a car drove by the house. The road was outside of the detection zone, and the motion was set to only detect humans (not cars). The funny thing is, it would detect cars, but not humans. If people walked by (walking dogs etc.) I got nothing, but a car would trigger it. Go figure! After resetting and starting from scratch multiple times, this continued to happen. I can't tell you how frustrating this was. Add to those issues, the terrible ringtones that they provide that are too short and not loud enough to hear even if your phone is laying out on a table (God forbid you're phone is in your pocket). The night vision is absolutely horrible. I tried every single setting in the app to no avail. The B&W IR setting showed almost nothing. You couldn't see anything more than about 2 feet from the camera, and even then it was hard to make out a person's features because it was so fuzzy. The color setting was a bit better, but I still wouldn't recognize someone if not right up at the lens. Like the B&W, there was no vision at all at a distance of more than 2-3 feet. I do want to address one thing one my initial review I got wrong. I stated there was no security screw to keep the camera from being removed easily. That was true, but I did find when I was removing it, there is a pin on the top that has to be depressed with something like a paperclip to remove the camera. So, it does have some security, but anyone with a paperclip can still remove it easily. A screw with a security head would be a better option, but what they have is better than nothing. Unfortunately, as much as I liked the dual camera and not paying for a subscription, I found this doorbell camera to have just too many issues to have to deal with on a daily basis. Maybe in the future they will get their act together and solve the problems this camera has, but I can't wait for that to happen. I went back to my old doorbell camera brand (you can guess who), and simply paid for the least expensive plan I could get. It's worth it not to have the aggravation I endured with this Eufy doorbell camera. ORIGINAL REVIEW I got this because I was getting tired of paying for my subscription to another brand, and they just raised the price again! I also liked that this has a 2k main camera, and a second package camera with no subscription cost whatsoever! Installing this camera is pretty straightforward. I removed my other camera doorbell, which was the hardest part as it had been there for around 10 years, and I forgot how it was mounted. Luckily, I still had the original box which had the installation/removal tool with instructions. I want to note that one of my biggest disappointments with the Eufy camera is that there is no way to securely attach it to the house. The bracket it attached with screws, but the camera itself simply clips in place. Someone can easily just walk up and pull it off the wall. Why is there no specialty screw to hold it to the bracket like my 10 year old doorbell camera had? Major security lapse IMO. Strike 1. The install itself is easy, although the bracket and camera is larger than my old one, and I had to modify my siding to enable it to fit, as well as drill new holes. I also had to purchase and install a new doorbell transformer, as the original one was under powered for this camera. Since it was probably 50 years old, that makes sense. If you are going to use the house doorbell chime like I am, and you are going to hard wire the doorbell camera, you need to insure your transformer has enough voltage to power the doorbell camera. After installing the bracket, I went inside to set up the doorbell. I downloaded the app on the Play store, and created an account. Finding the app was a bit of a pain, as the instructions had a slightly different name for the app than the Store did. They should standardize the name so there is no confusion for users. Adding the camera to the app is straightforward and the app makes it easy to follow the setup using a step-by-step process. The only glitch came when it had a hard time scanning the QR code on the camera and/or box. It failed a dozen times until I backed out and started the process over from scratch. After that it was smooth sailing. I clipped the camera to the bracket (again, no security screw to help prevent theft), and proceeded to test it. When pressing the doorbell, the house chime did not ring. That prompted me to go into the app settings and start going through all the possibilities. There are a lot of settings to check and modify for how you want them. I did eventually find the setting to enable the house chime, and it verified it would work. When tested, it did now work properly. I have found that I HATE with a passion, the choices for notification ring tones. You can only select from 8 of them, and they all suck! They are too short (just one "ring" or tone - no repeating), and way too low/soft. They are like short, very soft sounds that don't get your attention, and if not paying attention, you can miss them altogether! There is also no way to use a custom ring tone from your phone. With my old camera I had a submarine dive alarm that would play when motion was detected at the door. There was no way to ignore that sound, regardless of where you were or how loud the background was. Forget the default sounds they provide, and give us a custom selection that allows us to choose any ringtone on our phone! Strike 2. I had a Gen1 doorbell camera from the leader in doorbell cameras, and while the video quality isn't as good as this one (I think it might be 720 at best), I find I could actually recognize people better at a distance. Even at 2k with this camera, I can't really distinguish individuals unless I zoom in on their face. With the old camera, I could recognize the person easily at a distance, even if it was a bit grainy. Not sure why that is happening, but it is. Strike 3. The night vision on the main camera is terrible. I can literately see nothing! Just total blackness at the default setting. At least with my old camera I could see shades of gray and make out shapes. I will need to take some time to test out the various night vision settings to see if I can find a better option. I read you can select color night vision and the camera will shine lights to see better, but I can't find any info if the lights shine only when motion is detected or all the time when it gets dark. Again, I will need to make some time to test this to find the answer. This may, or may not, be another strike, depending on what I find during testing. On the other hand, I LOVE the package camera. My old camera didn't show the porch at all, while this one shows the whole thing. I know the newer cameras from the same company as my old camera now show head-to-toe video, but from what I've seen, it is a distorted fish bowl image. Both these Eufy cameras show a normal image without distortion. They also allow you to create a detection zone for motion, so you get less false alerts. There is a downside to having the package camera. When looking at video, it shows the main camera on top, and the package camera on the bottom. Makes sense right? However, that prevents you from turning your phone and being able to see the main camera in landscape mode. Sometimes I find it helpful to see the front yard in landscape mode and not just portrait mode where the edges are harder to make out. With this camera you don't have that option. I really wish they will make that available in a future update. Strike 3.5 Unfortunately, even at higher sensitivity settings, this camera misses motion many times. I don't have to worry about false alerts, as I don't even get legitimate ones all the time! Again, I don't know why, but will continue playing with zones and sensitivity settings to try to find an acceptable detection factor. Strike 4 I also don't know why this camera uses your phones data when when accessing Live View. My old one used WIFI, and I don't see why this one doesn't as well. I still haven't found out if this only uses the data when viewing Live View, or if it uses it 24/7. If it uses it constantly, I need to know so I can figure out how to turn it off, although I will miss being able to check the Live View occasionally. Strike 5 The other unanswered question I have is the blue round light that goes off when motion is detected. I prefer to go stealth, and not have it obvious that the camera is recording, but the settings are confusing, as I'm not sure if I turn the light off, if it turns off motion as well. I wish there was a better operating guide, as I can't even find some answers using Google. I'm still figuring out how to best use this doorbell camera, but so far have found it has many flaws, with just a few improvements over my old camera. Most of the flaws could be improved easily, but I doubt I will see much improvement. Companies just don't seem to care about customer satisfaction these days. All things being equal, I would normally return this camera and go back to my old one. However, even with all the issues with this doorbell camera, the one overriding factor that will result in me keeping it, is the fact there are no subscription fees to view and store video. I also have the other manufactures alarm system, so I will keep the basic policy, but I have already downgraded my subscription which will save me a good amount of cash. The savings will pay for this camera within a year. After that, I save money each and every year. This could be a great doorbell camera if they will only make a few tweaks to the software and the app. I sincerely hope they listen to feedback from their customers, and make the necessary changes. Until then, I'll just make do with what I have.

Need to Charge Battery full before connecting to HomeBase
I got it on Black Friday for less than SGD$200. The product arrived in its factory default packaging. Got it working on Tanden with the existing doorbell, which does not have the ground view Cam. Initial setup is straightforward; you need to charge the battery and 1 meter from the HomeBase.

Great Doorbell Cam, Worth the Price
We bought the C31 model for our USA home, it was about $90 USD, and when setup, had some amazing features. So back here at home bought a second one but this time, the upgraded E340, now same great features but more.... Still can hardwire to existing doorbell wiring (a must if you ask me) still has a great 2k camera, very detailed, adds a lower camera to see packages, and the AI system does a good job of recognition. You cant add memory directly to the newer version, but seems adequate. Uses the same app, but adds features like battery charge status, (kinda like to see), has good human recognition, app allows you to have prerecorded messages to tell people what to do or tell them to piss off firmly. The best feature of both these units is you can use them without a subscription to a cloud service, a very big plus for me, youstill get notifications, you still get a chime on your phone only, when someone rings just no continuous video that a cloud can provide. We have nothing in our home someone would want so a 20 second video of the face or vehicle to provide to the police is all we were looking for, it is great for heads up someone is coming, and the field of view is wide enough to cover our neighbours and the whole street in front of the house. The upgrade to compliment these units, were the chime module, and a more powerful transformer if you are hard wiring the unit. Chime for the E340 can hold up to 128Gb sd card as well to up the amount of video to hold, (back ordered at the moment), as well gives a speaker in home to hear a ding dong chime, just plugs in any outlet, so moves it to where everyone can hear it. All in all great unit, with features worth the price. Happy so far.

Reliable and High-Quality Security for Home and Business!
I’ve been using the Eufy Security Doorbell both at my business and home, and it’s been a game-changer for monitoring and security. The video quality is crisp and clear, even at night, which gives me peace of mind knowing I can easily see who’s at the door. The 2K resolution is impressive, and the motion detection works flawlessly, notifying me immediately whenever someone approaches. What I love most is the two-way audio feature, which allows me to communicate directly through the doorbell, whether it’s with delivery people or guests. The setup was simple and quick, and I appreciate that there’s no monthly subscription required for storing footage. The doorbell’s design is sleek and modern, fitting well with both home and business aesthetics. Whether I’m at home or at work, I always feel connected and secure. It’s a great investment for anyone looking to enhance their security setup without the added costs of traditional monitoring systems. I highly recommend the Eufy Security Doorbell for anyone who values convenience, reliability, and high-quality security for both residential and business properties.
