KEY-BAK Original Retractable Key Holder with a Front, Steel Belt Clip, and a Split Ring

I've been doing Maintenance for 25 years and this brand is the ONLY one I buy. I have tried them all and the rest are useless. This one will last for years and is more user friendly than any other type. Clips on and off easily and has never fallen off my belt without me taking it off. Retractable part is also the perfect length.

My husband likes these. He can keep them on front or side belt loops and have easy access to his keys. They pull out and roll back in easy.

I've been using the Mngarista brand for a few years now. Only lasting a couple of months at a time. Jamming up. Chose the brand because of how many 4 and 5 star reviews. They were junk. Decided to try the original retractable keychain. Difference between night and day compared to the Mngarista brand. Feels like the original janitor style Key-Bac keychain will hold up a brick. Feels like it will last forever.

Works as described, relatively sturdy, however, my only issue is how many keys you can actually place on this ring before the internal spring tension seems to falter. In my profession, I tend to carry a lot of keys, and I found that at around 15+ keys, the internal tension spring for retraction begins to falter. At around 20 standard sized keys, I found the retraction doesn't work as one would expect. The ring provided on device gives the false impression that it can hold many more keys, which it can, but gravity is stringer than the spring. I ended up only selecting my 10 most important keys that I use daily, and place the remainder on a separate key ring.

Very heavy duty and a bit larger than my needs required. Would be great for someone with a large set of keys or heavier items.

Broke several key lanyard before this one haven't had any issues

I owned a chain type Key-Bak for several years and although I enjoyed the convenience it provided, It had a few flaws in my opinion. I bought the one with a chain because I figured it would be the most durable and it did seem to be built well. One of the problems was that It would tend to get jammed from time to time. I don't know if fuzz would get in there or what, but I would have to pull real hard to get it working again and then it would be fine for a while. My other complaint is that the chain would slowly saw away at my jackets and shirts. I wore it on my belt and most of the locks were above my waist so I would have to pull it upwards when extending the chain. Any clothing that hung below my waistline and over the Key-Bak such as the waist hem on a jacket would start to get cut up by the chain running across it. I learned to pull up my clothing before pulling out my keys but it was a bit inconvenient. After several years I was surprised to find one day that the metal swivel on my Key-Bak had broken where the key ring connected to the chain. I rigged it up to make it work for a while but that was what made me look into buying another type. I was reluctant to buy the Kevlar string version but that really seemed to be the best answer to my damaged clothing issue. I've been using it for several months now and it works great. The string seems very strong, it's longer, no more jam ups and no more damaged clothes! I hope it lasts many years

The reel seemed to work fine though the chain is a bit shorter than I’d like. Retract strength was good and the reel has the heft of items made with quality.Unfortunately, I’m giving this one star, hoping that people won’t buy from this seller. These guys thought they would pick up an old bag out of the trash and tape it shut thinking I wouldn’t notice that the reel had been heavily used. The casing is all dented and scratched and the clip was bent and super scratched. Not only that but it was obviously opened as the main screw is stripped out. I returned it (which I still had to pay the $1) and am getting a replacement. This one had better be absolutely perfect. Do not buy from this seller.

The best

It's about 2 inches in diameter. From all the reviews I read thought it was going to be big but it's not bad. Super sturdy only had it for a few days let's see how long it lasts.
