Best for firewood
I have 5 pickaroons/hookaroons. This is the best one for moving firewood, head weight makes it easy to stick into the wood. A slight modification to the tip makes it work great in hardwoods and still releases easy. I have a Husqvarna, fiskars, logrite, and 2 council tool pickaroon/hookaroon . The husky has an odd angle at the tip which makes it difficult to pickup wood with the side grain, does not work good in hardwood. Fiskars is too short and light, need to swing very hard to stick in wood, lots of handle shock when using it on oak. Logrite has an uncomfortable handle for extended use and the tip doesn't release well, is great for moving around boards and fence posts.

bad design.
this is not the tool you want, i just got one for a birthday gift and this tool has a design flaw. the head is fine, the shaft to head is well fitted. the problem is with the shape and length of your handle. because of how the tool is used, your going to be holding onto the end of the handle and the handle has no real knob or but of the handle where you grasp it. the shape of the handle is more round than squarish or octogonish. your going to have the handle slipping out of your hand and rolling in your grip. you will find yourself reshaping the handle or taping it with skate board tape or simply replacing a perfectly good handle with a proper handle design. they should of went with a gransforbruk shaped handle instead, of a fawns foot.. i've handled council tool axes before and i knew better, they have the same issue with them. i should of went with a fiskars x22 or x25 . i'm cutting somewhere around 30 cords of wood a year and actually use my tools.
