GL1C RGB 15.5" Key Light

Great features. Light is bright. It's awesome. What else can I say? 👍 Definitely would recommend over the elgato lights

I’ve been using the NEEWER GL1C RGB 15.5” Key Light for a few weeks now, and overall, I’m very impressed. The build quality is solid, the light is incredibly bright, and the RGB options are fantastic for creating the perfect ambiance for my streams and video calls. It’s also easy to adjust the brightness and color temperature, which makes it versatile for different setups. The only downside is the desktop software. While it’s user-friendly and has all the features I need, it frequently disconnects from the light. It’s a bit frustrating to have to reconnect, especially during a session. Despite this small issue, the light itself performs beautifully, and I’m confident it’s one of the best in its price range. If the software connection were more stable, this would easily be a 5-star product.

I bought this coupled with my stream deck and it’s great to have extra lighting when I’m doing video calls. The sound activated function is really cool when you play music.

The lighting is superb. I really liked it. Even though the USB 2.4G dongle works in the Control Center for settings, it does not ADD the device so things like the Stream Deck plug-in can see it. That means I have to go to my phone to turn it on and off so many times a day it's super annoying. And the network connection is horrid. Every single device that accesses it has to be on 2.4G WiFi? Uhm... no. My WiFi channels are all on the same SSID. It should be able to deal with that. Support telling me that I have to have them on the same one? I'm not giving up WiFi7 performance just for a light. Totally lame.

These things are fantastic. Little bit of learning curve to set up and put in place your settings but once done they are super adjustable have steady mounts and give off extreme amount of diffuse light or you dial them down to to little or just enough.

I love these lights (bought two of them), but the clamps are terrible if you have a nice desk top. They ruined the finish on my walnut desk after 1 year and 4 months. I just took these off to move to a new house and was horrified to see these permanently embedded in the finish. I’ll have to sand and refinish it.

Edit: Moved from 4 to 5 stars!! I ordered a 2nd one. I found a way to trigger/change settings the light with my bot! (streamerbot) Love the light, great features. Works very well for photography and streaming! I can control the light from my phone, pc and my streamdeck HOWEVER I can NOT get the light to be triggered via twitch events. It is all manually controlled. It would get perfect 5 stars across the board if it would work with streamerbot or allow some way to AUTO trigger scenes/settings. Please update software :)

The light itself is 4 stars, but the connectivity is absolutely garbage. Wifi connectivity is the only REAL way of fully controlling it. The 2.4Ghz method only gives you off/on, and doesn't let you actually add lights to your devices. Bluetooth for some reason doesn't work with built in Bluetooth functionality and requires a separate dongle. I'm sorry, I thought this was 2025. When you can control these with your iPhone's Bluetooth but not your Macbook's Bluetooth, it's a pretty big slap in the face. WHEN things worked before falling off the wifi for the billionth time it works fine. Color matches with my Elgato Key light without issue, and while it doesn't get as dim as the Key Light, it's fine. But the CONSTANT falling off of the wifi network is just... unusable. I saw in the Control Center app that you can control devices via hardwired USB--Great! Alas, not the GL1C or GL1 Pro. So yeah. Ridiculous. Honestly, the time I've spent fiddling with both this and the GL1 Pro I have (even though that one stays on the network better--not perfect, but better) would have been spent on spending extra for another Key Light. Not to mention the fact that the Key Light comes with a longer pole to get over my LG C4 42" monitor... C'mon Neewer, y'all are SO CLOSE... Get it togoether.

Super adjustable in every way, (height, tilt, brightness, colour, etc), and very easy to set up. I'm very happy with this light. It is very heavy duty and not flimsy at all. The pole is adjustable so it can be rather tall if you need as well, and the light panel itself is a good medium size that should fit in most people's setups.
