While I don’t use Real Avid as the end all be all they seem to think they are. Some of their products aren’t terrible. The vise, although a bit overpriced in my opinion is descent and these pads should have come standard. They are stout enough to hold a 14# rifle by the barrel yet gentle enough I can cinch down on stuff without marring the finish (even cold bluing). I think these should have come in the box with the vise in place of the plastic faced ones from the factory. Grippy but gentle. A lot like a vagi…. you get the idea.

The functionality is amazing on these.

Once again Real Avid has not disappointed. I purchased this to replace the stock Jaws to better handle firearms.

The one thing I would like to see different is the jaw opening to be wider and the screw and guide rods longer. Some firearms or parts are wide enough that the screw is not fully engaged in the vice threads. Also, sell the self adhesive soft foam pads as a fair ware item. These are not going to last long, but are desirable on fine finishes. I really like the vise and it’s versatility.

I see they have several versions of these. I do not like the foam on the original heads and seen these are straight plastic and I do not have to worry about the foam tearing up.

These replaced the original sleeves. The original are a softer foam, but the glue attaching them wasn't the best, so the foam fell off occasionally. The construction of these sleeves corrects that. The gripping surface is a harder material, but does not mar a rifle stock.

Just works well with the vice to leave no scratches.
