What size would you recommend for yogurt to-go? I make yogurt in my instant pot, and would like to be able to pre-package them for busy mornings.

I have both the 6oz side and the 8.5oz size. I use the 8.5oz for more often. I suggest you purchase the 8.5oz size because you can always put in a bit less food.

Can this be used to steam foods in (like in a bamboo steamer or in an Instant Pot, using the steam function)?

I've never used them in the steamer but I use them in the microwave and they hold up well. They're made out of a sturdy plastic. I think it would hold up in the steamer. I would test one before you put several of them in there.
