these blocks are extremely hard and dry. should i just put them for rats to eat? or do i have to make them wet first?

You need a black box in which to place the blocks . There is a spindle in the box that the blocks thread on to. This box has a 'tunnel' to allow the rats to get access. You should not leave the blocks in the open for other creatures to poison, eg cats, dogs birds squirrels hedgehogs etc. I am not sure whether Amazon sell the boxes but you can get them from Pestexpert. From eating it takes two to three days for them to die. You must remember to check the poison daily to every other day and fill it up as soon as it has been taken. Once the poison stops being taken, leave it for another week or two and if noting has been taken then the problem has been dealt with.
