Great Product
Excellent product use to polish plate on clay pigeon machines

Great for initial polishing stage.
These are ideal for polishing and cleaning up soft materials like brass, copper and aluminum. I machined an arbor for these pads so I can run them at slower speeds on my buffing equipment.

A good product, but not living up to all it's promises
SPECIFICATIONS; This review is for the 600 grit disc. This disk is built differently than the other flap discs sold by this manufacturer. All the others have overlapping abrasive flats. These have perpendicular pieces standing parallel to each other and forming a flat abrasive surface. (Photos). The disc is a depressed center-type that fits onto a 4-1/2" No. 27 mount. (Photos). It fits inside the blade guard and the abrasive surface rises above the blade guard. (Photo). The disc is a full 4-12" in diameter and 5/8" thick. The backing is made of fiber and the hole is metal reinforced. Only one disc in the stacked package is labeled; the rest are not, so have a marker handy. (Photo) It mounted perfectly in my old HF angle grinder. TESTING: Following the manufacturer's directions, I first used this flat on a wide piece of aluminum flashing clamped to the bench. (Note: I wore proper personal protective equipment while testing.) This definitely did not produce results anywhere near close to a polished finish, although it felt a little smoother. (Photo) I then tried it on a scrap saw blade - hard tempered steel - that had some rust on it. It cleaned the surface rust and grime and left it smoother, but nothing near a polished surface. For fun, i tried it on a very thin piece of plywood that had some stain, adhesive, and dirt on it. (Photos) To my surprise, it cleaned the surface and left it feeling extremely smooth and looking like a semi-gloss finish. It also quickly burned the wood edges. The disc produced very little dust on metal and only slightly more on the wood. The disc material stayed cool on all three materials, but the materials did heat up. I compared the disc to a new one after I was done. I had only used the disc for a total of less than ten minutes. There was no loss of thickness. However, the used disc surface felt softer and smooth, not abrasive and completely stiff like the new disc. I'm going to try to refresh the surface by combing it with a used hacksaw blade to remove the spent fibers. I'm not going to use sandpaper as loose grit could become trapped in the fiber and ruin the disc. CONCLUSION: It doesn't polish, so it loses a star for that. It does clean light surface junk without removing stock, or so little that you can't detect it. Seems pretty durable, which gives it value, but whether it's effectiveness in cleaning is consistent with the amount of wear will require additional use to determine. It's use with wood is a pleasant surprise and a bonus that needs to be explored further. Whether it is worth buying will depend upon your needs and uses for this disc.

Buffering has never been easier with these scouring pads
I really love these pads from NuoDunco. I have used their entire grit range and they're amazing. Pros: super fast buffing/cutting with no gouging at all. Excellent for busting small amounts of tarnishing/rust off of machined surfaces! you can polish items without much effort at all Cons: if you run them on the same spot of metal too long, the nylon will actually melt off of the pad and onto the metal, so you need to keep the pads moving around the metal to help cool them off. if you catch a metal edge it absolutely shreds the pad, so be careful and always run them at an acute angle so you're not just tearing the nylon matrix apart. After grinding/deburring some plasma cut stainless steel, I used these to add the beautiful mirror finish to the piece and it took me almost no time despite the piece being somewhat cumbersome with tons of tiny notches.

They're really effective at lower speeds
I like buying rusty, old cast iron cookware at yard sales to restore and give as gifts. Every once in awhile, I'll buy a vintage piece that requires only light resurfacing. The 600 grit disc is good for the finishing touches before seasoning. They hold up pretty well at lower RPM. Disregard the max RPM rating, they won't stand a chance at that speed. If you don't have a variable speed tool, you'll be sorely disappointed.

Work great!
These are a bit squishy so they'll comply with irregular surface. Abrasive enough to adjust the surface, but not enough to really remove a lot of material. Don't need to be THAT careful to avoid messing your part up. I used them to "resurface" a flywheel for a manual trans. These knocked off the glaze and left a nice fresh surface for the new clutch to seat into. The fiber material wears away at a nice rate to continually expose fresh abrasive. Pretty happy, overall.

Great for a nice finish on softer surfaces
First, these are not abrasive flap wheels in the standard sense - they are more like scouring pads. What they do well is remove debris and scratches from softer surfaces - such as aluminum, and remove paint from fiberglass and other materials more aggressive wheels would damage. Keep them away from sharp protrusions, as they will shred, but they worked great on open areas.

Sub par quality
The fibers melt into the metal you are trying to blend. Thought I could save some money on these. Ended up buying an expensive blending wheel anyway.
