Great fan, really sucks the smoke/smells from any cooking - make sure the outlet is pointed at a window

I changed my review from a 4 to a 5. After using it several times and it really helps. We only have a microwave vent fan that vents back into the room. It really doesn't do much at all. The CIARRA Portable Range Hood definitely helps considerably. It doesn't eliminate odor 100% but it comes close. We cooked pan seared lamb chops which generates a fair amount of smoke and odor. Careful placement near stove top is very important to try to catch as much as feasible. It really helped. Very satisfied and recommended.

I purchased this fan with high hopes, but I am extremely disappointed with the lack of support for key accessories, specifically the polymer filter and carbon filter. These filters are crucial to the fan's air purification function, but the company has stopped selling them separately. Without these two filters, the fan does little more than blow air, which defeats the purpose of why I bought it in the first place. What's worse is the only way to get the carbon filter is through a bundle that includes an extra air purification piece I don’t need. This is an unnecessary expense for customers who just want replacement filters, not additional components. Now, a few months after I first bought it, I’ve discovered there are no longer any accessories available to make this fan work as it should. I feel completely stuck with it and can't help but feel desperate and betrayed. If I had known this upfront, I would never have made the purchase. Save your money and look elsewhere unless you enjoy paying for things you don’t need.

There’s no hepa filter, so yes it sucks up the smoke and it is strong but the smell is getting blown to the rear and yes it does trap oil. It does what it intended to do but there’s no odor removal.

After I went to Korea I was looking for one of these and ordered this. It was cheaper than Home Depot for the same exact product and had more color options. I have used this for hot pot Korean bbq shabu shabu fried rice, it works very well. The smell after cooking disappears about a hour or two after I open windows as before we were not able to do it cuz of the smoke and steam. I didn’t even want to try. Very easy to turn on and plug in. Noise level is loud but you can still talk to the person next to you and across from you. Love the cool down mode as well. Fantastic product.

We use this portable hood whenever we do K-BBQ or sear steaks indoors. For something this small, it pulls in a lot more oil and smoke than I expected. The filter and oil cup actually catch a noticeable amount of grease, and the airflow is strong enough to keep our smoke alarm from going off during heavier cooking sessions. Without it, indoor BBQ would be a mess. Just be realistic about what it can and can’t do. It’s not going to capture everything—there’s still some smoke and grease that escape, especially when you’re cooking at high heat or have multiple burners going. That’s just the limitation of any tabletop unit. The aluminum filter is easy to remove and clean, and the oil cup fills slowly enough that you’re not constantly emptying it. Noise level is about what you’d expect from a small exhaust fan—not silent, but manageable. Pros: Actually, reduces smoke enough to prevent false fire alarms Catches a good amount of grease Easy-to-clean filter and oil collection cup Makes indoor K-BBQ or steak nights a lot more tolerable Cons: Can’t capture all smoke/oil (don’t expect a wall-mounted hood’s performance) Airflow is decent but not strong enough for very heavy cooking sessions Only two fan speeds Bottom line: Not perfect, but genuinely useful if you want to grill or sear indoors without filling your place with smoke. It does enough to justify the space and cost.

I love this exhaust fan. I cooked steaks on my induction, stove, top and a cast-iron pan. This fan sucks up all the smoke for me cooking on high heat. I highly recommend it to anybody that doesn’t have an exhaust fan above their stove.

I purchased this for my mother. Honestly I don’t think it does much for odor removal and it makes quite a bit of noise. I kept it and wish I hadn’t.

These work much better than expected! My extractor is not working and no fix in the near future. I got two just in case - I cook a lot iwith multiple pans. These are powerful, very cool looking, and the cleanup is not too bad. I love them! Adding a funny picture of smoky rashers - i did not actually need the second unit for the one pan. There is a fat/grease collection tray, but I think the filters work so well it's always empty. How do I know these are actually working? First, I can see smoke and steam moving directly into the unit. Second - smell test. I closed the kitchen after browning chicken in Lard for Adobo. Left the room for 10 minutes, came back it and.. it just smelled normal. No smoke haze anywhere. Final proof is the filters themselves are really greasy.

Es funktioniert bei uns im Camper Vorzelt super. Seit dem habe ich beim kochen nirgendwo Kondenswassers. Das gesamte Wasser sammelt sich hinten im Auffangbehälter. Ich kann es nur jedem empfehlen und es ist auch nicht lauter als eine normale Dunstabzugshaube.

Geweldig ding. Bij ons kan geen wasemkap of uitzuiger dus dit is heel fijn Het haalt niet alle geur van knoflook en kruiden weg, maar het helpt aanzienlijk. Maakt in stand twee wel behoorlijk geluid, maar ach. Goede koop. Ik denk dat ik er nog eentje ga kopen.
